Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its convenient location and friendly staff, but many guests are unhappy about the extra charge for parking and the lack of complimentary breakfast. Some guests also mention issues with cleanliness and maintenance in the rooms.

The room was clean and well kept. Friendly staff made the check in process easy even though the lobby was very busy

Clean property and walking distance to Moody Center where the our concert was held.

Our AC leaked all over our carpet and soaked half of the room. They charged for water bottles we never had. Also charged $23 for buffet breakfast that was not nice at all, like any average hotel breakfast with powdered eggs.

Hotel is old, showerhead doesn’t put out much water, not that clean. No hair dryer in room, asked for one at the front desk, but never got one.

Walking distance of the venue …. Just walked back because we could not find the Lyft driver

Very clean, spacious rooms and very close to the venue I was attending. Staff was very helpful. The ice machine wasn’t working on the floor I was staying, only 2 floors had working ice machines.

Location and breakfast Great Location as we were here for an event at the moody center and we were able to walk there easily. The breakfast was great Jennifer was very helpful and friendly. My experience upon arrival was not very pleasant at all. We got assigned a room that had been previously blocked off because the door was stuck shut. We tried getting switched to a room with a working door but Sergio the desk attendant y we had no choice but to stay in that room. He sent the maintenance man up with us who eventually opened the door but as he shut the door we ended up getting stuck inside together. He quickly called for help and got us out. The maintenance man was very friendly and helpful. His hands were unfortunately tied as to what to do because Sergio insisted we stay there. The gentleman that helped get us out mentioned that room was blocked off by management and he should never had given us that room. We ended up getting helped and got another room but not after feeling traumatized. I will never be comfortable staying here again sadly. Due to my experience with front desk. Legally I don’t believe they should have put us in a room that knowingly had an existing issue due to safety concerns and fire codes. I did express my safety concerns but was dismissed by front desk.

The hotel was very clean, nice and comfortable. The only issue I had was paying $32 per night for parking. Parking should be free. For a company like the Hilton to be making millions of dollars off guest for parking is absolutely insane.
- 5/5
Miguel was amazing and provided comfort and assistance when he was able to. The hotel even approved refunding my stay since I was being picked up that night due to my car troubles and needing to find a way back home. Only issue I had was wanting to take a relaxing bath after the stressful drive but the bathtub was filthy and leaking. Would stay again, they seriously made me feel so safe

I loved everything about this hotel: clean, friendly, great location for Moody Center concerts, advise pedicab for transport, good walking distance during the daytime-not advised for those with any physical impairment, restaurant on property, bar and restaurant inside hotel; my only EXCEPTION was daily charge for hotel parking WHICH is the normal for most of the area hotels. I highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely book there again.

Easy walk to venue we were going to. Easy check in.
- 4/5
The room was clean, comfortable, and a decent size. The bed was nice, the bathroom was updated, and the air conditioning worked well, although the window unit was loud. The hotel itself feels dated, but reasonably maintained for its age. The biggest issue is room location. One side faces the cemetery and the other faces I-35. If you are sensitive to noise, pay extra for the cemetery side because the highway noise goes on all night. The location is convenient for UT and easy Uber access, but there is not much within walking distance besides a Dennys next door. Parking also costs extra. Overall, it is a solid mid-range hotel if you just need a place to sleep near campus for a conference or short trip. If you want a more modern experience or a hotel surrounded by restaurants and entertainment, look elsewhere.
- 5/5
Location was close to venue and reviews were accurate. This is a well maintained facility, staff were great. If you stay best check-in early, parking is limited. One of the quietest places I've stayed. Would definitely stay there again.

Room was not cleaned properly before we got there, hair in shower and nail clipping in floor. Ice machine broken, no buffet breakfast on the Sunday as there was an “emergency”. Tried to get a refund, they tell me to contact where I book room from and when I do they tell me to contact hotel direct. No one can resolve my issue.

Our air conditioner did not work in our room and we had to pay extra for parking, $42.76 per night, had to pay $50 deposit, which we weren’t aware of this before we arrived at the hotel. I’m not sure if we will stay there on our next trip to Austin.
- 4/5
All good as a business, one night stay. Convenient, with it's own restaurant and a Denny's next door. The gym is adequate if not exceptional. If you get a room that faces the highway, the lights from the parking lot can be disruptive at night unless you use the blackout curtains. (If you like morning light, you can't get it.) Also would be nice to use warm light in the rooms instead of that weird gray "daylight" bulb.

I enjoyed my stay here, and found the room adequate, and the grounds pleasant enough. I enjoyed the fact that it was right next-door to a Denny’s, and if I go back, I will definitely try out Denny’s. But I probably will skip this hotel next time, because it is not as close to the University of Texas area as I would like to be. It’s also very near the freeway, which means it’s less enjoyable to stroll outside. Otherwise, not a bad choice.

The hotel is fairly old so many areas may have been clean, but didn't look it. The ice machine on the 3rd floor had no ice. And I guess keeping with the times there were no niceties like shower caps or swabs. The air conditioner worked nicely. Finally, on checking in, we only received 2 cookies for 3 guests because they were afraid they would run out. Petty, I know but there it is.

Upon checkin the gentleman at the front was not friendly or welcoming. Seemed robotic in his verbiage and a welcoming environment. Did not explain where elevators were and we had to look which direction to go. When going to the bar upon opening bartender did not acknowledge us or anyone waiting. The seating where the tables were there was a couple sitting there and the lights were not turned on (bar/restaraunt was already open) of which the wife had to come up and ask if they were open and bar tender said yes, but did not explain it was not like an actual restraunt where a server would come to your table that you had to order food at the bar. Very limit choices. Once we were done Jerome did not thank us or anything that had left. The lifting in the rooms is dim and not well lit. We were extremely disappointed in this hotel and not worth the money. We will not return to this hotel in the future.
- 5/5
A lock on the bathroom door would be nice.
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful!
- 5/5
Hotel lobby and rooms are fresh and well maintained. I have stayed here several times because this is in a convenient location. My only complaint is that your windows badly need cleaned. Over several years, they continue to be very dirty and appear to have not been for many years. Also paying $38 and taxes adding up to a total of $43 is exorbitant.
- 3/5
No hooks in the bath. Shower stall floor felt rotten. There are down pillows and bedding so request feather free if you have allergies. The scrambled eggs had a crust and a blueish tinge. All that being said, the staff was courteous and helpful and the room was clean.

BUT... The hotel room bathroom- they painted inside of the bathtub this ugly tan color and tried to cover it up with a mat. The spout is loose where the water comes out from. No caulking. The handle that controls hot/cold water is reverse. So where the indicator says blue for cold is actually for hot water.
- 3/5
The bar closed at 10. Parking is extremely expensive.
- 3/5
Beds were worn and uncomfortable, A/C was way too cold and when adjusted became way too hot.

This hotel was very conveniently located for our trip to watch the Longhorn softball team play. The staff was wonderful, the bartender was attentive and the room was comfy. There was some hair in our shower and our bathroom needed an update. None of that made me not want to return. We will certainly be back! The staff was so wonderful they made up for it all!! One CAUTION….if you’re planning to park at this hotel, the parking is a pay lot contracted with another company. You must scan a QR code and pay $38 per night via credit card. Just something to consider before you believe you’re getting a great deal on the hotel!!

Near to St David’s hospital The gate was closed when I returned for my second night which caused me to get into the neighboring apartment complex where Google said there was an exit. There was only an emergency fire gate. Finally I got back onto the freeway and wound through sketchy east Austin complete with hoards of homeless people. I reported it to the woman at the desk who was unconcerned.

The lobby was welcoming. The room itself was very nice. The food menu was minimal and very expensive. However, there is a Denny’s next-door so that is a solution. I wish Expedia would have disclosed that parking is $45 a night. That would have made a difference in the hotel I chose. Overall very nice hotel. Just know you’re going to pay $45 for parking on top of your room stay.

Restroom light in my room kept turn off and on neededs to be fixed
- 3/5
Terrible noise as they were installing carpets
- 4/5
The $40 parking fee was ridiculous!
- 5/5
I appreciated the ease of check-in, the spacious and clean Lobby for doing work outside my room, the ease of parking and the comfortable and clean room! Of course, the warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in is always a delightful touch!
- 1/5
My husband had a stroke and was in the hospital and the hotel refused to refund my money so I didn’t even get to stay.
- 3/5
I given the wrong room. The front desk made the correction, but didn’t say anything about the inconvenience.
- 5/5
Everything was great. The agents I encountered at the desk throughout the day were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was nice and the room was spacious and very clean and it was close to where I needed to be downtown which made it so much easier for me.
- 4/5
Room was great. Great location
- 5/5
breakfast was lacking. not much of a choice from menu.
- 3/5
Room was decent. Beds were uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. Our room was clean.
- 4/5
They do not serve breakfast as the website mentioned. The beds were very comfortable, TV worked great. A/C worked great.
- 5/5
Clean room. Walking distance to the moody center

They spent money on making the lobby area and bar area look nice. My room was clean. It's close to the Moody center and safe to walk at night. The worst thing was the mattress. Absolutely horrible. I placed 4 pillows down to make some padding as just laying on it caused hip and low back pain from lack of support after 20 minutes. The mattress is clearly old and worn. I would ignore the plywood frame with wrapping paper around the wood or the pealing wallpaper if I just had a good mattress. Room 524. I dare the owner to try and sleep in that bed.
- 3/5
Next to a cemetery… kinda of creepy
- 5/5
Perfect location to walk to Moody Center for a concert.
- 4/5
Beds were comfortable and clean. Arrived after midnight and there was no one at the front desk so we tried to use our Bluetooth key, which didn’t work requiring us to go back down to the desk and get an actual key. Shower could’ve used a little maintenance but otherwise the room was good. The rooms in the back are very noisy from the highway, even on the top floor.
- 5/5
It was a very nice overnight stay. Very close to our venue and safe for evening walking back from concert
- 4/5
Be sure to plan extra travel time due to on going construction you may get stuck trying to leave the hotel for a good 15 minutes or more. Overall our room could have been cleaned a bit better from the prior guest. I would look into a different hotel location when booking a stay in Austin!
- 4/5
Not a good location for shops but perfect for going to the moody centre and football stadium. Room kept very clean air conditioning very loud
- 5/5
Staff was amazing and so helpful.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Convenient l9ction to Moody Center. Only complaint was we were only there one night due to a concert, housekeeping walked in the room 2 times on our check out morning (9:45 &10:45). Check out wasnt until noon. I advised the front desk when checking out very apologetic and made a note on the file. Over all great experience.
- 5/5
Plenty of onsite parking and close enough to walk to University of Texas grounds as well as the capital.
- 5/5
Was a great place to stay!
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
My daughter and I stayed 2 nights for a concert at Moody. We had a great stay, the room was clean, breakfast was great, staff was great. I was worried about the walk to and from Moody but it went well and we felt safe!
- 5/5
Nice clean and well maintained. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Check in was quick. Walkable to Moody center in 10 minutes.
- 4/5
.
- 3/5
Room was fine. Only issue was the refrigerator that did not stay cold. We had to throw away about $60 worth of food.
- 1/5
It was a horrible experience, moldy shower , laminate around mirrors where peeling, flickering lights, no convenient outlets
- 4/5
Perfect location if you’re going to an event at the Moody Center.
- 4/5
Room was clean, breakfast was good, checking was fast.
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable to stay
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 4/5
Great location for walk to the Moody Center
- 5/5
It was very close to where we were going , everyone was so nice , beds are comfortable , warm cookies are amazing , love the Doubletree
- 2/5
Hotel was nice and clean. Very comfortable. But why charge for parking if the hotel will not be responsible for thefts or damages
- 4/5
I didn't like that you have to pay for Wi-Fi; they also didn't specify that breakfast is paid for separately.
- 4/5
The hotel is clean , comfortable and courteous staff. . The only change that I wish they can do is to change the refrigerator in the room it is set with a timer to cool for just two hours then it shuts off . Then you need to set it u again ! But other than that I love this hotel it’s near the venue we needed to go too which is convenient.
- 5/5
Spacious, clean rooms with very comfort bed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Super convenient walk to Moody for concerts.
- 5/5
Right by the amphitheater
- 4/5
The personnel were great, very friendly and helpful. The biggest issue I had was the cost of parking at the hotel, it was almost as much as our rental car for two days.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful, beginning from check in to my early checkout. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the price was amazing compared to everything else around! I just wish they wouldn't charge for parking
- 1/5
We had to pay for park our car at the hotel parking lots
- 3/5
The room was nice and the front desk staff were very nice! DO NOT PAY FOR THE BREAKFAST BUFFET, such a waste of money for the options you get, go to Dennys. Between paying for parking, the price of the room and everything else you have to pay for there. Go somewhere else
- 5/5
great
- 2/5
Hotel is not at all 4 star. It is 3 star hotel. I got handicap room with no lock in bathroom and no exhaust fan. Room was outdated-carpet peeling off, carpet budging from many places, broken and old lamp. Breakfast is standard not Hilton standard or 4 star. I paid $180 for 1 night stay. I wish stayed in some other hotel. Expedia members always gets worst rooms.
- 1/5
Had to get a refund on room because my reservation was not in the system.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great staff very helpful
- 3/5
Breakfast was not that good
- 5/5
The hotel was close to venue good clean pool and great services
- 2/5
The room was nice and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. For me though the bed was way to hard but thats a personal problem. My reason for the raiting is the hidden charges. I was charged over $118 for parking on their property for 2 days. ( stayed 3 days, 1 day room wasn't even occupied.) The only reason for the charge was so you dint get towed. Parking wasn't secured or even have security. I would have been just as safe parking in the restaurants parking next door. I had know idea I would have been charged this. Nothing but a legal way of theft.
- 4/5
It was great until I seen roaches in the restroom.
- 5/5
The hotel was great. Staff clenliness comfort all A+. But to park at the hotel it was ~80$ fpr two days and that was never mentioned anywhere in the booking.
- 5/5
Perfect! I love this hotel.
- 5/5
Showed up for the Phish shows, stayed at the hotel for 5 days. The staff was awesome and the bed was very comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again.
- 5/5
This property was within easy walking distance from the concert venue i was attending
- 4/5
I really liked michellecat the front desk my daughter had heart surgery and she gave her water i did not know we had to pay for parking so ahe said she would waive the fee but i had a card on my window to pay when i left the bed was not that comfortable but i did sleep good all in all michelle was super nice but probably wont stay there again
- 5/5
It went great everything went well check in was quick
- 4/5
Stayed here for just one night for a concert in the area. The person at the front desk who checked us in/out was so nice! Wish I could remember his name. Love the cookies too. Room was clean except for a fake eyelash strip on the desk. Beds were comfy! Only real issue is that the next day we weren’t able to use the sink or shower as the water was off for some reason. Was a bit of a bummer to not be able to shower before heading out.
- 5/5
ok
- 5/5
Great places to stay staff was friendly easy access to the university and Moody Center for the concert
- 5/5
Great overall stay at an affordable rate
- 5/5
Staff was so friendly and accommodating. The room was big and and the bed was comfy :D
- 5/5
Loved everything about hotel, but check in person was rude
- 4/5
No high
- 5/5
Was Good
- 5/5
Everything was great but I believe for the price of the room, parking should be included.
- 2/5
My entire stay there was no hot water. I checked in Monday evening and went back down about an hour later to tell them that I didn't have hot water and was informed that maintenance was working in on. I came back Tuesday evening after an all day seminar and still no hot water, they switched my room to a different room down the hall and lo and behold still no hot water. According to the woman who worked the front desk because I took the cheap route and booked with Expedia I was not eligible for any refunds or discounts. I spent over $150 nightly to be comfortable and not having hot water to shower is definitely not comfortable
- 4/5
Hotel was nice. Didn't like the surprise parking fee. Would have been nice to know about parking before the trip. For the price of the room, they should have microwaves in the rooms. Hotel very clean and nice.
- 4/5
Everything would have been great if not for the $80 parking fee for one night. Ridiculous!!
- 3/5
Parking problem billed $35
- 5/5
Friendly staff, great place to stay near the University.
- 5/5
It was a cute little room and our stay was very nice. Wish it had a mini microwave as the only door nearby was a Denny's and not really a favorite. Also, the pool was probably the worst thing about the property. It's right next to the freeway and I would feel very exposed to the world. It also wasn't kept well. Looked dirty. And lastly, the cemetery right next to the property was a bit unnerving. I had a first night experience of sleep paralysis that is rather not relive. The other 2 nights were fine though.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Was surprised that there each room did not have a microwave and that we we charged $35 a night for parking:(
- 3/5
Convenient for the VonLane bus. Hot cookie was nice
- 5/5
Great stay!!! Walked to Moody. Dennys next door. Minutes drive from 6th street

Old hotel. Nothing fancy. Overpriced
- 1/5
Horrible
- 5/5
Helpful, courteous staff.
- 5/5
Our stay at this hotel was nice stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any situation that we had. They went above and beyond to help us when we needed some assistance. We were in town for a hospital stay for a family member and they were very happy to accommodate us with certain things. The hotel was very clean and well kept at all times. I was somewhat surprised that we had to pay for parking at a hotel we were staying at, but perhaps that is what happens in Austin! Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone
- 2/5
On top of paying to stay. We had to pay to park for the weekend. The prices at the on site bar/restaurant were more than over in flayed, $10 for a single 12 bottle beer and the food was mediocre at best and could have been half the price.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel. Room and facilties were very clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Female clerk at desk ( check- in ) was very helpful and informative . It was my first time visiting Austin / Texas .
- 5/5
Lovely. Great location. Nice people. Very helpful staff.
- 5/5
The front desk was very welcoming and friendly. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Quiet. Great location
- 5/5
Staff is available and helpful.
- 4/5
Convenient location for concerts in Moody Center or stadiums. A little bit noisy being besides the road ans construction. In my case I found the shower a little bit dirty
- 5/5
Great stay, very clean and kind. Would absolutely book again
- 5/5
The desk clerk at check in was wonderful and super nice.
- 5/5
The walking distance.
- 5/5
I found the hotel great, it was busy and felt quiet. My room was comfortable and clean. Do know that you have to pay to park. However, not a big deal.
- 5/5
Service Staff was awesome. Very attentive and the bar was good too.
- 5/5
Liked the hotel, price and convenience. Room was clean and better than I thought would be. Fresh coffee downstairs was great to have.
- 5/5
Walking distance to Moody Coliseum!
- 5/5
What a terrific hotel. Let us check in early. Great rooms, very clean. Staff was very nice! ....Will stay here everytime in Austin
- 5/5
Great location for any UT event, love the on-site parking, large and comfy lobby and rooms and of course, the cookies!!!
- 5/5
Good location
- 3/5
PROS:close to UT, lobby was beautiful, all staff was very nice. CONS:terrible cost of parking, weird smell in the room
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and on-site bar a great place to hang while waiting for next family activity. Walking distance to most stuff on campus
- 4/5
We arrived for breakfast 15 minutes before it ended, and the lady who works at the restaurant was rushing us. There were barely food to eat...
- 5/5
Rooms are very roomy and clean
- 5/5
I did not have any areas of concern that are worth mentioning.
- 2/5
room sink stopped up, charged for parking, charged for breakfast, hell they charged for bottled water in room! No wonder why they give stupid cookies in front.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Very new and clean with helpful and friendly staff. It's a short walk to the Moody Center, which is why we chose it.
- 5/5
It was just over all a great stay the staff where polite
- 3/5
You have to pay for parking which was inconvenient; I've never had to pay for parking at a hotel that I'm a paying guest at. I liked the overall customer service, and the ambient environment.
- 5/5
Great staff! Amazing drinks & food!
- 2/5
No mircrowave in the room and no free breakfast and way expensive Requested a rollaway bed and it wasn’t in the room Had to ask the cleaning staff for one
