    Wonderful and luxurious stay! The room was nice and fresh, bed was superbly comfortable, the staff was friendly. The lobby was so busy and energetic with friendly guests. I suggest against ordering room service during busy dinner hours because the wait was over an hour and I understand why! The food at By George is absolutely fantastic. I ordered the veggie burger and fries, and layered chocolate cake & ice cream which was devine! That was the best darn burger I’ve ever had! It was made from black beans and it tasted better than beef without the guilt! I would stay at the Candler again and definitely plan on making reservations for their restaurant, By George in the near future!

    Room 1701- One complaint- mattress on king bed was too firm, however mattress on sleeper sofa was very thin, felt coils even with extra padding. Friendly and cooperative staff. Otherwise, everything was good or excellent.

    The building required steps to go up to the lobby which is very inconvenient and not disabled friendly. The staff was friendly enough but didn’t go out of their way to help or assist with simple questions such as of the area is safe, if they had a map or any suggestions for tourists. Additionally my room missed a bar of soap on arrival and I reported it the following day, and didn’t get soap till 4 attempts to request such soap. This was basically sub par service.

    Although the Candler is a classy hotel in a good downtown location, there were a few disappointments during our stay. First off, our king room was surprisingly small. Fortunately, the bathroom was large enough for me to place my large suitcase in it, or we would have had to climb over it elsewhere. (There was floor space for my husband’s suitcase. We didn’t unpack them as our stay was only for 3 nights.) Secondly, there was an espresso machine in the room instead of a traditional coffeemaker, and there were no instructions for its use. Despite even watching a YouTube video, all I was able to produce was a small lukewarm cup of water with a smattering of coffee grounds. Alas, I paid for my daily coffee at the hotel’s restaurant bar. The most egregious failure and disappointment came when my husband ordered room service for dinner at 8:30 pm and received a email confirmation of the order. When the order had not arrived an hour later and he called the hotel restaurant, He was told the order was not received. They offered to “make the order right away” without asking any specifics of the order. (Husband told them to forget it!) When complaining to the front desk and manager they claimed that the restaurant was separate from the hotel—although the dinner was listed on the room charges (which they removed). Major fiasco, resolved by ordering DoorDash. Dinner arrived at 10:40 pm.

    Beautiful hotel, and extremely friendly staff. I may have missed it when booking, but the only parking available is valet, which is an extra $55/night. Our room was very nice, but I had booked for 2 people, and there was one set of towels, and the toilet seat was in desperate need of being repaired or replaced. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay. We did have to wait about 45 minutes after checkout for our car to be retrieved so that we could leave, but of course, many people were checking out at the same time on a Sunday morning, and so it was understandable. Just be prepared to wait a while. Jermaine was extremely friendly, and very helpful with our bags. We had a good stay with a few minor annoyances.

    First let me give a shout out to Jerome, the hotel ambassador at The Candler. He was amazing and made our mother-daughter mothers day weekend so wonderful. From his amazing energy to checking in throughout our stay. He was so kind to upgrade us to an amazing suite which made our celebration that much more special. This hotel is absolutely beautiful, with it's stunning decor and history. Our bathroom was like heaven with a big soaking claw foot tub and bath salts. They have soft comfy robes and amazing amenities in the room. I can not say enough about how lovely our stay was, we will definitely be back next time we visit Atlanta.

    Really disappointed by this overpriced stay in a part of town with little to see or do. Everything closed early. There was an unexpected $55 required valet service. And the cleaning staff knocks on your door early on day of checkout to confirm your checkout time (waking me up unexpectedly). Also only 1 elevator worked on day of departure and Valet line was ridiculous long and slow. I will not stay at this place again and very surprised and disappointed that Hotels.com gave it 4 stars.

    Wonderful and quick room service. The bell staff was awesome especially Jermaine. He was so courteous and helpful even when he had to load all our bags on the rain. Another bell man ran around to help us find our driverless Uber. Great location for museums and plenty of places to eat nearby. I would highly recommended this hotel. I can’t wait to stay here again.

    Booked two rooms for daughter and friends prom to dress and an overnight stay close to the venue. Valet parking is pricey at $50 per night per car. Common area furnishings look a little tired. Photos in hotel interior are prohibited even if you are a guest staying at the hotel. Staff do enforce this and are not friendly when they do. Smell of marijuana present in lobby was pretty strong. This place has unique interior features and could be amazing with some work.

    Checked into the hotel around 3:30pm went upstairs to our room about 35-45 mins later 2 black individuals come up to our room and knock on the door and said house keeping i went to the door and proceeded to communicate in a very stern voice we do not need any the individuals still proceeded to open the door after we insisted we do not not need any house keeping well not recommended this hotel due to safey concerns

    My daughter always wanted to visit the aquarium in Atlanta so we took a quick weekend getaway together and stayed at the Candler Hotel. Not only was the hotel convenient to the aquarium, Centennial Park, and other attractions, it was a wonderful experience in and of itself. The architecture is gorgeous, the history of the building is fascinating, and the rooms are lovely and well maintained. Above all, the staff is outstanding. Jerome greeted us when we first arrived and could not have been kinder or more attentive. He was a wonderful person to introduce us to the area, and continually went out of his way to make sure we were having a nice stay. Similarly, Dwayne took time out of his busy day to show us some of the history of the Candler building, including the Coca Cola vault. We would have missed out on the incredible history of the building if it wasn't for Dwayne. My family loves to travel and we rarely visit the same place twice. Thanks to Jerome and Dwayne and the wonderful stay we had, we plan to return to the Candler Hotel with our entire family.

    The hotel is nice, but the staff really steals the show. They were incredibly kind, helpful, and friendly. We were traveling with our young baby and all of the staff lent a helping hand when we were entering and leaving the hotel. Note that the only on site parking is valet. We always got our cars very quickly and had no issue there. There was always someone there to help us load and unload our stuff as well. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel!

    I don’t like chocolate but they offer a really delicious hot chocolate in the afternoon and a tour in the evening. They had great lounge spaces that you can sit and meet people in which was helpful for us with our visit. The rooms are spacious, all of us had large rooms. The beds contrary to reviews did not smell like pickles but I did see a quite a bit of dust on the blinds in my restroom. I would definitely go back.

    In room ##07, there was a strange clunking noise that we couldn’t quite identify, along with repeated thumping sounds that seemed like they were coming from the pipes. We brought a white noise machine, so the sounds didn’t bother us much at night, but it’s worth noting for light sleepers. The staff was very friendly and responsive. Maintenance promptly replaced a chair after one of the legs broke, which we appreciated. Valet service was also friendly and professional. There wasn’t much desk space for working, which could be a drawback if you need to work from the room. That said, the hotel itself is historic and has a beautiful, older high-end feel that adds a lot of charm to the stay. One thing to be aware of is the immediate area around the hotel. We wouldn’t recommend venturing downhill nearby, as there were a number of transient individuals in that area. However, we did feel safe returning late at night—the streets were well lit, and we noticed patrol cars nearby. Overall, a charming historic hotel with friendly staff and comfortable rooms, with a few quirks to keep in mind.

    The hotel in itself is beautiful and in a pretty central area. There are a lot of things that were broken which was shocking and disappointing for the price. The AC would go in and out which made the temperature of the room very erratic. The lighting is terrible. There’s no overhead lights and just some SMALL lamps. The toilets in the gym were broken with no sign on the doors. There’s carpeting in the rooms. I was overcharged for my burger at the restaurant.

    Another concern was the area outside the hotel. The homeless population in the nearby parks was very noticeable, and it made walking directly from the hotel uncomfortable. We often had to walk up a block and around to feel safe leaving the hotel. It was disappointing compared to the rest of the hotel, which was excellent.

    The building is absolutely gorgeous, and if you are in the area this is the one to see. It as a block and a half away from my conference hall, and closer still to the MARTA. You could hear that throughout the night in the 5th floor, but a sound machine helped enormously. Luxurious walk-in shower, comfy bed and the *best* in-room cappuccino maker I’ve ever seen.

    The hotel was beautiful, and I loved the size of our suite and the convenient location. The doorman provided excellent customer service and even shared some interesting history about the hotel, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the front desk staff were not friendly or welcoming, and the issues I reported were never resolved.     Watch the steps leaving the hotel. After the doorman reminding me to be careful coming down the stairs (Why? Because maybe this has happened before), me foot turned on the curve of the step and down I went on all fours. Fractured my ankle and sprained my wrist. So, just be careful on those steps. Other than that, the hotel met our needs.

    We were upgraded to a suite on the 15th floor and the room was absolutely incredible. We had a cleaner daily who was also very lovely. We had breakfast in the restaurant every morning and the food was very good. We will definitely be back, set it a great location a 10minute walk from the the Coca Cola HQ and the aquarium, it felt very safe with lots of accessible entities.     The hotel is a beautiful historic building. The hotel was clean and the staff was exceptional! The restaurant, By George menu provided variety and the food was excellent! We had brunch one morning and dinner one evening and all I can say as that I highly recommend the Skyscraper Burger with truffle fries. This hotel is truly a gem.

    There was an issue with the type of room we reserved (two queen beds) and we were placed in a great room, though it onoy had one bed and a sleeper sofa which wasn't ideal for the two of us. The hotel made it right with a room credit that covered breakfast and parking- all in all a great stay

    I booked a deluxe king room with a city view and got a queen bed and when I brought it up to staff at the check in desk they gaslit me saying it was for sure a king bed… I guess king beds are just smaller in Atlanta..

    Wowiewowwow! Above and beyond expectations! Beautiful historical hotel with a delicious high-end restaurant. Our room came with a $25 breakfast voucher, and we were very pleased with the delicious breakfast menu. We ended up having dinner at By George both nights of our stay because the menu was so good. My husband says he had the best Cafe Americano he’s ever had at this restaurant, by the way. The staff - so friendly, accommodating, and professional, especially Jerome the bar hop/concierge/hotel representative/tour guide (take the tour!). We were here for a college football game and are so glad we picked The Candler. It’s walking-distance to many attractions (College Football Hall of Fame; World of Coca-Cola; Atlanta Aquarium; Olympic Park) and a short, convenient Uber ride to many more. Other things we loved: comfortable beds, large bathrooms, very clean rooms, decent gym, and all of the early-1900s lavish decorum. So much history here! If and when we come back to Atlanta, I truly wouldn’t consider staying anyplace else. Now for the cons: I was going to report that the small lobby market only sold plain M&M’s, which was a considerable bummer last night; however, upon check-out today, I see that the peanut M&M’s have been replenished! So I got nothing! Haha! Final Score: A+. Love this place!

    I had a really nice experience here. The staff was so friendly and accommodating they really made me feel welcome. The food from the restaurant was excellent, much better than I expected from a hotel restaurant. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. I’d definitely stay here again.

    The hotel is beautiful and the service was great. Michelin restaurants on site and the bartenders and staff was excellent. The one complaint we had was with cleaning service. Whomever was responsible for our room didn’t take away dirty washclothes that were left in the shower. Honestly we don’t believe she/he cleaned the bathroom at all and just left new towels. Other than that the hotel was wonderful.

    Great stay! Valet is $55 a day which is expensive IMO. Valet staff is very professional and quick with getting my car every time. Hotel room was clean but not the most spacious. Great atmosphere at the bar and professional staff. Will be staying again next time I’m in town.

    Absolutely loved this hotel--walkable to Mercedes Benz stadium, we chose this location for a Falcons football game. I would stay here again for sure. Be sure to hit the restaurant as well, it was our best meal in Atlanta!

    The hotel could be more wheelchair friendly. There was only one lift available, and it made sounds as if it is about to breakdown. More wheelchair lifts would be nice especially when it is an emergency.

    Service in the dining room wasnt the best. She never came back to see how our food was and mine was over cooked. Had to ask another server for coffee.     Hotel overall was good. The safe in my room wasn't really working correctly which made me feel a bit uneasy. I also never got the requested housekeeping at the time I really needed it. The food at the restaurant was really good. The person who checked me in was very helpful and informative

    The facility is excellent. The staff are excellent, super friendly and helpful, the restaurant was great, the rooms were super clean and comfortable, and it was very nice and secure. In general, downtown Atlanta can be a little bit gritty, but that would be the same for any hotel in that area.

    i’m not a big fan of antique furniture or the look but this hotel is genuinely incredible in that sense with furniture dating back to the 1900s with incredible on screen marble vanities, and incredible marble columns like you’ve never seen that are solid as well as marble staircases with real sculpture that was made probably in the mid-1960s or before. Jorge Marble was a great asset at the time making incredible Marble available. I’ve never seen a hotel with such nice marble in it in this country and I’ve been to so many

    Room was good but management poor. The By George restaurant turned away guests because 'we are full'. However I estimated about 40 % of tables not occupied or reserved. They did this for bfast and dinner. It was purely a staffing exercise to manage margin. I saw 5 hotel guests turned away when I was there. This is not a business traveler hotel so I would avoid it.

    This is an old property, but still somewhat “fancy.” I felt safe and staff were nice and professional. Easy check-in and check out policy. My only complaint is that the bathroom floor could have been a little cleaner, as there was a long, black hair on the floor, as well as something stuck to the floor. There was also a stain on the mattress protector (I ALWAYS thoroughly inspect the room, especially the bed/mattress).

    The hotel is satisfactory. The public areas are compact, yet tastefully furnished. The room was satisfactory for the price, but it did not stand out. The breakfast restaurant provided excellent service. The barman's Negroni Sbagliato was exceptional. The location of the hotel in the downtown area is not appealing, however, the hotel has no influence over this. Other than that, if you need to stay in this area, it is a reliable choice.

    I usually stay elsewhere when in Atlanta so I was excited to try this hotel as it looked really nice and had historical significance. I saw a few reviews about the hotel being dirty but decided to overlook them hoping they were one offs. They were not. The room was really dusty and had a dingy smell. The hallways were dirty and also had a weird smell. I complained at the front desk twice and was told housekeeping would come. I insisted the room needed to be dusted but it seemed like only the bed was made and new towels were placed. The same dust and water marks from a glass were there after the room being cleaned. I would have checked out immediately, unfortunately all the hotels in the area were sold out due to a storm grounding multiple flights that weekend. Really disappointing.

    Overall a good option for downtown Atlanta. My only cautionary tale is this - if you’re sensitive to light, bring electrical tape with you. Two of the light switched turned into extremely bright nightlights once it got dark and there was no way to block it.

    It was a good experience up until we were checking out but the bells man was wonderful and the car service was easy. Very clean pulled the sheets back befor climbing in bed and it was so clean not even a slight stain. Very happy will be back
