This property is nothing like the pictures shown. You have to park in a parking deck with an out of service elevator. The entire property smells of mildew. The hotel room door was half broken. I felt very unsafe and dirty. Overall a terrible experience. Hair all in the bathroom and shower. Dirty floors. I payed for a nice hotel and instead was surprised by a roach motel.

Nice hotel in a great location near to good restaurants. Under refurbishment, so the lobby and dining room look very updated, but they hadn't got to our room yet. The room was perfectly fine and functional, but the bathroom is really small and it's difficult to take a shower without flooding the floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will stat again

Parking for the hotel was more than adequate. The staff were welcoming and and attentive, and answered all questions me and my friend had during our stay. The building, while on the older side, was being actively maintained, and some parts were being painted and upbeat during our stay, which was really nice to see! All-in-all, was a very nice experience and would definitely stay again if I find myself in the area again!

Far as the cleanliness goes, the building is extremely old and not very clean so make sure if you do stay bring your own cleaning supplies as we always do and check the linen and towels. Last, they have some sort of club near by which the noise extremely loud so if your are a light sleeper you might not get a lot of sleep.

Location to downtown events was great. Breakfast was good. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It’s about ten years past expiration. Everything needs to be remodeled. Smell was not great, had to ask for new bed spread in addition to sheets. No other amenities. (No fridge, microwave, etc).

Rooms are ok, little dated, it’s not a bad place considering the amount of time you’re really in the room. If your nit picking then you’ll find something to complain about, staff was absolutely AMAZING, loved Shay, we even exchanged numbers so if she’s ever here in RI we can hangout together. Breakfast was pretty decent. Parking is not the best there is a parking garage across the street that you have to pay $18 per day. We were there for Skills USA week, it was super busy and I’m glad we just walked or used Uber/Lyft/street car. It’s a little farther out from where my kid stayed with school but we made the week work.

I was excited about my trip to ATL for the first time. Although the staff was helpful and courteous that was the only decent thing about this hotel. It was dilapidated, there is a constant odor throughout the building. My sink in my room wouldn't drain. They did come fix it after telling the front desk. The cleanliness throughout is questionable. I don't like the soap used for the towels. They say parking is validated only to turn around and charge you for parking. I was charged twice. I was charged a $250 cleaning fee to clean the room because my child vomited in the room and there was a spot on the carpet and the room smelled bad. The fact I had to constantly spray the room to smell nice prior to that incident says a lot. The parking lot we parked in was so sketchy and smelled horrible. I am very disappointed in my stay. I have no problem paying my way, but I do not like hidden fees nor being hustled for more money. I do not recommend staying here.

Front desk staff and the lady doing breakfast were great! The food was good (although it was the same every day we ate). The room did its job. Gave us a place to sleep. Keep in mind there is not a fridge in the room (we have apparently taken advantage of that little convenience) cleanliness of the rooms could have used a little more attention ( but I honestly think our room was vacant for a few days with no air on, caused mold on our shower curtain). For the price and location it was well worth the stay.

The staff, location, breakfast, and cost. The haunted elevator was a nice touch, but I’m not sure the other guests appreciated the nuance as much as I did. I seriously cannot say enough good things about the staff - truly amazing people. The hotel is OLD and in desperate need of repairs and basic upgrades. The HVAC in the room was reversed and stuck blowing freezing cold air at full blast. The toilet clogged every time we used it, IF it would flush at all. The elevator was sentient and moody.

This hotel is a hidden gem that perfectly balances historic character with modern updates currently in progress. While the building itself is a charming piece of history, the experience is made truly exceptional by the staff; Shay and Lelan at the front desk are incredibly welcoming and provide fantastic local dining recommendations, while Morgan’s friendly and proactive management of housekeeping ensures that guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay. The rooms offer clean and simple comfort, featuring bright white linens and beds that offer a fantastic night's sleep. I loved starting my mornings with the hearty breakfast spread—the biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and fresh waffles, along with fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, and several other options—before taking an easy walk to nearby icons like Centennial Park, the Georgia Aquarium, and the World of Coca-Cola. It is a high-value, very affordable home base for anyone looking to explore the best of downtown Atlanta.

This is a shabby and slightly run down hotel, that is probably only getting the rate that they're requesting because of the location to downtown Atlanta. The hotel was an 11 min walk to State Farm Arena that advertised free parking, which is why I booked this hotel. Upon checking out, I was charged 18 for parking validation. There was a far better hotel in the same area, for the same price but the charged 55 to park per night. Outside of that, my room had one window that faced a brick wall, my room had no microwave or refrigerator, and the thermostat didn't seem to lower the temperature in the run. The hotel room gave the feel of a hourly motel. Definitely not worth 150 for 1 night. Breakfast was grits, eggs, sausage patties, and French toast stick, with the usual yogurt, apples, cereal, juice, and waffle maker. I would not stay again until it was the last option.

First of all, my room didn't have a working A/C unit, They give us FANS to use for our 2 day stay. The ice machine on floor 7 was out of order and the parking garage that the Hotel told us to park in the ELEVATOR was out of order and we were parked on the 5th level which meant we did a lot of walking just to get the car. I WANT A FULL REFUND because we were not given the room or basic amenities listed on the site. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was off. The lobby was dusty, grime on the furniture and floors that made the place feel neglected. It was clear that cleanliness was not a priority here. The receptionist added to the dismal experience. Once I finally got my room, the disappointment continued .The accommodations were not only dusty but also poorly maintained. There were stains on the bedding, and the bathroom had a musty smell that lingered throughout my stay. Service was another major letdown. Overall, I wouldn’t let a dog stay at this hotel . Positives: breakfast and lobby coffee were fine. Security was good. Cleanliness satisfactory. Negatives: WIFI SUCKED. I never got a usable connection in my room. I had to work from the fitness center or at the table in the elevator lobby outside my room just to get merely adequate signal. Proprty feels just on the edge of keeping up with maintenance. The floor indicator light in the single elevator was non-functional.

The hotel had some retro look carpet in the hallways but rooms were freshly renovated and clean. The view from our window was another building’s wall about 7 inches from the window. So no view. We didn’t care just more safety for us girls’ stay. Breakfast was usual hotel breakfast but good waffles, sausage, eggs, biscuits, and pastries, Plenty to eat. Beds are really comfortable and clean.

The room was Okay for the price. Very dated. Very old heating and air. Our view was the cement building. Tv is old and matress was rock hard. Inclement weather caused the reason I was coming to town to be cancelled. I called the hotel's reservations desk immediately and was given the "leave your number and the first available representative will call you back" option. I'm still waiting for a call two days later, having already paid for a room I couldn't use. I can live with that outcome, but it speaks very poorly for this hotel and for Marriott's ability or interest in serving guests.

Check in was the worst process I’ve ever had trying to check in anywhere. The only one card reader crashed and the worker had no idea how to try to amend it so I could check in and apparently manager didn’t answer the phone to give the worker guidance. So after 40-45 minutes of standing at the counter she finally figured it out after unplugging it and plugging it back in. Breakfast was pretty good, rooms are very old. My thermostat wouldn’t do anything but blow heat and the balcony door wouldn’t open to allow any outside air in to cool it off some. Decent hotel for the price, but spend the extra money and stay elsewhere.

This is a perfectly placed hotel. It is convenient to the downtown area (walking distance) and has parking. The building needs a cosmetic update, but the rooms are clean and smell fresh (not musty or smoky). The front desk attendants are outstanding. Shay checked me in and offered helpful advice throughout my stay. She looked after my safety and welfare and responded quickly and completely to all of my questions. You cannot beat the price for this location and I would stay here again.

It is a hundred year old building so we couldn't control the heat or air in the room individually. Meaning the building hear was on so that all you got is you turned the system on in the room. The breakfast was average based on what most breakfast options are offered in other hotels we've stayed in. They had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, grits, biscuits and sausage gravy, toast, muffins, Danish, cereals and milk, yogurt, and of course the best part the make your own waffles. Overly, it is worth the stay!

Also, there was a large hole in the bathroom tile, the inner wall and black color inside- yuk! The TV didn’t work and it’s over due for a remodel. I think for the amount you pay for, this is a great budget friendly option. I’ve stayed at a lot of expensive hotels but decided to keep it cheap this time while sharing with a friend and I had to constantly remind myself that based on what I paid, this is what I paid for and I shouldn’t expect too much . I think the beds were a bit springy but still comfortable. Upon entering the bathroom, I noticed hair was still on the floor from previous people which was a bit gross. I felt like the room was cool enough that I didn’t need to use their portable air con which was fine. We had an issue where someone entered our room and front desk said they made a mistake with the keycards or something. Our keycards would also lose charge multiple times despite not being next to our phones, which was a bit annoying. Not having a fridge also sucked but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Unfortunately our floors ice machine, along with multiple other floors, had broken ice machines. It was little things that bugged me but I remind myself this is what I paid for , which was not much at all. Overall, I think this is still a good option if you’re looking for a cheap stay because overall it was still decent.

The room was clean. No refrigerator or microwave in the room, although, there was a coffee machine. And there was a balcony sliding door to access a mini-balcony from the room but it wasn’t accessible the door was locked. It seems like people that have stayed in the past had attempted to open so the sliding door wasn’t lined up. So you heard outside noise and the room took forever to get cool during our stay towards the end-of-summer. The bathroom is dated. Tile floor was stained or has mold growing (see picture). The continental breakfast was mid and super packed right at end of break.

The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Pleasantly surprised by the breakfast! Biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs, waffles, fruit, yogurt… it was so good! The parking was super convenient and with the hotel’s validation sticker, you will not find cheaper parking in the city! The location of the hotel was so close to everything we did that we just walked everywhere. Concerning the AC in the room…. other reviews worried me bc as a perimenopausal woman, I already run hot, so I really need my room to be cool! When I first walked in, I was concerned that it wasn’t cold enough, but I will say I did not get too hot overnight. And I even brought my own fan just in case, but I never used it. This was my first time staying at Barclay, but anytime I need to come to ATL for a concert or anything else, this will be my go to!

Staff was great. Lobby looked nice, rooms not so much. Very outdated, stand alone a/c unit that the hose was fed through the patio door so could not go on the balcony, and the a/c didn’t cool the room off at all. The surroundings left a lot to be desired. There were homeless people everywhere and stopped us many times to ask for change/money. Parking garage is sketchy at best. Super tight fit to park and the only way my daughter felt safe was to carry my mace and me carry a knife. You have to get a new ticket and have the hotel validate it every time I went in and out. Will not stay here again.

The air conditioner in the room they moved me to also didn’t work. They hooked up a portable unit that screamed ghetto. There are two positive things I can say. 1 is location I attended a football game at NFL stadium and this hotel was easy walking distance. And 2, the staff, they did what they could to accommodate me. That being said, I will NEVER stay there again and I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anybody

You ride a very scary old elevator to a room where my card didn’t work. Room smelt old like hospital! Had a window unit with this long white hose. Curtains had holes in them that the sun would peak through. Tv had no sound. Bathroom is so small don’t have anyone over 5’8 shower there bc they will bust there head. I was out in room 607. The smoke alarm was yellowed and beeping constantly. The AC twrmostste was knocked off the wall. There was a floor unit piped to a cardboard wall that was duct taped to the sliding glass door to the balcony. The room absolutely reeked of pot. It was late, my son and I stayed one night in the room. The next afternoon after my son and I got back from our meeting we told the front desk about the experience. She was flippant about it. Shrugs. Sorry. We can move you to another room. So we got moved to another room. When we went to 607 to get our stuff... Only one bed was made, the room had an even stronger smell of pot and a pillow was practically infused with pot smell. We pulled out stuff out and went to another room. Here, there was no pot smell, the AC worked, everything was tidy and neat. The conclusion made was that the hotel staff uses 607 to smoke and thus disabled the smoke detector. The rest of our nights there was good.

Listing said 2 queens- they were double beds and small- room is way smaller than pics. It was dirty- there was grime and dust on many surface areas. The beds are not comfortable. There is no working thermostat in the room to adjust the temp- it was SO HOT- 90 degrees outside and in the 7th floor room, the elevator and enclosed area between front lobby and elevator the temps were WELL above 80. I called to ask them to lower the temp- they refused (said they couldn’t). Breakfast was worse than school slop- watery eggs, coagulated gravy, no healthy options at all. The waffle maker was a mess so I didn’t bother with it. There’s NO microwave or mini fridge in the rooms- so staying more than one night is ridiculous. The ONLY microwave is BEHIND the front desk on the main floor though TWO locked doors and a front desk person has to be there to let you in to use it. Which means a ride from 7 floors up on an 80+ degree elevator x2 that is older than my grandparents and feels like something out of a scary amusement park ride. It also REEKED of we’d both in the elevator and immediately outside the front door of the hotel- where their own employees were sitting under the dropoff circle mere feet from the door. Personally I could care less what they do- but doing it on the job- it’s unprofessional. Then the hair dryer didn’t work- we tried new plugs before calling the desk- a new person answered and irritatedly informed me there’s no replacement and did nothing. Again. 0/10 for this place

The hotel was just old and ran down. It smells so bad. The first room we went in smelled like pee and mildew and she offered us a balcony room which the balcony’s window was taped shut for a window unit. I mean the room was somewhat clean the housekeepers are doing their best, but the smell was awful. And the carpet is so dirty. I would probably never stay here again. It was hot run down and dirty when we were getting ready to check out the elevator was stuck and we were on the 11th floor we were told that the housekeeping had it and that they were trying to fix it. 20 minutes later we decided that we needed to walk down the stairs so we weren’t charged another fee and when we got down to the bottom of the stairs, somebody told us it was go again.

The first room we were given was unbearably hot. Even with the small AC unit on, it didn’t cool at all, and by 10 p.m., it was still too uncomfortable to stay in. Thankfully, Chasta at the front desk (shoutout to her!) was incredibly kind and helpful. She moved us to a different room with a better AC setup, and we really appreciated her going the extra mile. That said, overall, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The elevator felt sketchy and stopped randomly, the hallways and common areas were dirty, and the entire place does not reflect the quality shown in the online images. The breakfast was okay, nothing special, but decent. If you’re looking for comfort and transparency, especially during the summer, this might not be the right place.

It was my first time coming to Atlanta, and the Barclay staff made us feel at home. Especially Chasta and Keisha

The first room was dirty, still trash in there, pillows and a dirty towel on the bed, cup of water in the bathroom, etc. I let the front desk know, she came to take pictures, apologized, and moved us to a different room. The 2nd room was also dirty. Hair all over the beds, in the toilet, in the shower, something weird on the window. At this point it is 3:30am and we need to wake up at 6 so I laid on top of the blankets and didn't use any of the pillows. Did not sleep at all, didn't shower, checked out at 7am and found a last minute hotel to spend the next night in.

The hotel is older, so you get what you pay for. The service was excellent. Thanks.

I was hoping to receive a refund of 1 night since I had to leave on an emergency a day early. Hotels.com said ok as long as the property said ok. The desk staff informed me that it shouldn’t be an issue but i still haven’t heard back from anyone yet….i guess I shouldn’t expect it but would be grateful if they would do it.

Great location and super sweet employees. It's a nice enough place, but very obviously an older building. Would totally stay again

The hotel is too old, everything make you feel like is about to break or didn’t work. Talking about the price and conditions in the hotel, is expensive. But a good option if you need something on walking distance from downtown

But I gave it a much higher rating. The staff, specifically Keisha was very helpful. Everyone was so helpful. The breakfast was ok. Biscuit and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles and toast. I do wish they had orange juice or something other than water. Last day the gravy almost ran out, so needed replacing. I also with they had instant oatmeal or something. The Marta is a bout 7 minute walk. It has dining around it and is close to Georgia World Congress, aquarium and World of Coca Cola.

Came to hotel and was greeted upon entry. Front desk was helpful and polite. Got my key and went upstairs to my room. Upon entry it was warm, (the AC wasn’t on, and once turned on, wasn’t blowing cold air) the room was dark and the when looking out the window the fence below it was topped with barbed wire and a shirt was over the section near my window. I opened the nightstand drawer to find 2 dead bugs. General feel was not what I was looking for. I grabbed my things, told the front desk I was leaving. They didn’t ask for an explanation which I think is weird. Booked myself another room at the Westin at 11:30 pm rather than spend the night

open the window. Thankfully by the time we returned after midnight maintenance had swapped from heat to cool. This property majorly needs renovation, the elevator is very scary. Everything in the room is outdated, the king mattress was very uncomfortable, tiny pillows that held up none. The tv is very small. No fridge, no microwave. Very outdated/run down bathroom. Cobwebs in the corner of the room.

Staff are very helpful -Shae & Esther made our 5-day stay comfortable…easy to catch a train, my preferred was Peachtree Street station (less than 5 minutes) , 5 to 10 minutes walk on Luckie St to Olympic Park/ Aquarium….

The property is a bit run down. Temperature control fan in room is not quiet. Breakfast was fair. Shower not ADA compliant—no hand rails. Property close to MARTA and GSU.

The toilet's not working, the air conditioning is not blowing warm. You tell them about it and they respond that you should open the toilet by yourself using the plunger.

The pictures that are featured have to be from when the hotel first opened. The curtains have holes in them. The water systems have no real pressure causing toilets to get clogged often. Phone in room did not work so had to use cell phone to call downstairs. When explaining the toilet was clogged they told us to go in the hallway and find a plunger and fix the toilet ourselves! No one hardly at front desk and when you call them with the emergency red phone on wall no one answers either. 4 am and in the lobby hotel staff screaming as if being murdered. DO NOT STAY HERE!
