Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the hotel's convenient location and friendly staff. The rooftop bar is a popular feature, offering beautiful views of the surrounding area. However, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the noise levels, particularly from traffic and nearby construction, and the additional costs for parking and breakfast.

If you’re considering this hotel, be prepared for a masterclass in incompetence. In a single stay, we were asked to pay for a breakfast that was already included in our reservation, our room was not serviced, our key stopped working, requested towels never arrived, and management’s response to our complaints was complete indifference. Our room was not serviced at all. No fresh towels. No replenished water. No coffee. No tea. Our room key stopped working. It was reprogrammed and still did not work. After I reported these issues through the hotel chat, I was asked what could be done to improve our evening. I requested fresh towels, bottled water, coffee, and tea. Hours passed. Nothing was delivered. No one followed up. The breakfast situation deserves special mention. We were asked to pay for a breakfast that was already included in our reservation. Later, I discovered an additional $4 tip charge on my folio that I did not authorize. After multiple service failures throughout the stay, finding questionable charges on the final bill did not inspire confidence. My advice to future guests: review your folio carefully before checking out. At checkout, I informed management that our room had not been serviced and that the requested towels had never arrived. The response I received was simply: “Okay.” That one word perfectly summarized the entire experience. The hotel itself is not the problem. Asheville is wonderful. The problem is management. When housekeeping fails, the front desk fails, guest services fail, communication fails, billing raises questions, and management shows no interest in resolving any of it, the issue is no longer individual mistakes. The issue is leadership. This hotel doesn’t need better apology scripts. It needs management training.

Overall great stay. Location is close to city and walkable. Great view of mountains for the room we booked.

Furthermore, the hotel was just a few minutes away from the South Slope and downtown.

The staff were excellent, especially Holton at the front desk Highway noise

The rooftop bar was very very good and had an excellent view. The staff was extremely nice.

It was within walking distance of the venue It was within walking distance to the venue but the homelessness and drug problem in this city is alarming! We didn’t walk because we were afraid of what we you’ll encounter along the way. And I think we must have been in the top floor under the restaurant because it was incredibly loud especially at night and heard chairs moving above us all night.

Nice place
- 5/5
Room was great but felt a bit cramped. Couch was uncomfortable. The view from the room was terrific. All the staff were awesome and helpful. Room was cleaned every day and always had fresh towels. Buffet breakfast was a bit lacking and food should have been served warmer. Eggs and potatoes were served cold. Our stay cost us less than comparable hotels in the area and overall our experience was pleasurable.

Good stay good location.

Downtown Asheville is overrun with homeless people that accost you, if I was to go back to Asheville it would not be downtown.
- 4/5
The front desk staff was fantastic, always kind and friendly. We had a couple questions during our stay and each time, with different staff, they were super helpful and went above and beyond to take care of us. We had a week-long stay and had breakfast on-site 3 days of our stay as a quick option before heading out on adventures. It was great! Wonderful service and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. We also tried the rooftop bar for a light dinner one night and were a bit underwhelmed. The views were nice, cocktails were good, but service was slow and we didn't feel the food was worth the price. Perhaps we just caught a bad night, others seem to love it. Overall, we would stay here again if we ever return to Asheville and would recommend it as a great option for others.

Check in, room size and comfort and cleanliness. Rooftop bar was lovely and staff were very friendly. I thought breakfast was included in rate but that was my misunderstanding. Service at breakfast was a litte slow even though there was very few people being served.

Holton at the front desk is amazing. We were only there for a short time so when we wanted to go to the rooftop bar it was closed for a party which was a bummer but otherwise property was clean, nicely appointed and centrally located for exploring Asheville.
- 4/5
Clean room! Loved the roof top bar
- 5/5
We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect and the rooms were very clean. I also want to give a shoutout to Holton! Holton was so nice and helpful during our stay, and made us feel so welcomed.
- 5/5
This was a very pretty hotel. The rooms were comfortable and a good size for 3 people. We could walk to downtown very easy and felt safe doing so. The parking was convenient.
- 4/5
Our only wish was to have more plugs and outlets to charge devices. This is essential in this day and age.
- 3/5
This hotel needs modernization. The rooftop bar was great. The lobby bartend, Candy, was by far one of the best. The rest of the hotel staff was pretty unfriendly.

This hotel is in a great location! Lynn at the front desk was very kind and helpful ant check-in and any time we needed something. She gave us a list of restaurants and bars/breweries with walking and driving times. Everyone from front desk, bar, kitchen and housekeeping was very friendly. Highly recommend a stay here! Don’t miss the lobby bar. Candy makes a great espresso martini! Cassidy in the kitchen was super sweet as well. Thanks!!

We booked a room in the corner to face the city in order to avoid all of the noise from the highway on the other side of the building. Unfortunately, we got exactly what we were trying to avoid: A room on the third floor close to traffic on the highway and extremely noisy. We were informed because it was a third party booking, the information provided must have been inaccurate and they would not honor it. Also, they overbooked king size bed rooms. Otherwise, we thought the hotel was very nice and the corner room is nice and roomy. Our only complaint on the breakfast buffet is the food is not heated properly once out and the food tended to be cold.

We had an awesome staycation. Would love to stay there next time.

Just a little noisy from the highway
- 4/5
water pressure in the bathroom sink was at best weak
- 5/5
Bed was really comfortable and I appreciated the extra blanket in the closet. Since we started the vacation under the weather, the hot showers felt even better, but the inability to self scroll the TV guide and actually select a channel was annoying. However, the location was fantastic both for walking to restaurants (downtown and south Montford) and activities, and easy access to highway for sightseeing. Meant to use the pool and exercise room, but never made it there. Amazing sunset from rooftop bar!
- 5/5
Loved rooftop bar access and interstate access, plus in downtown. Much better than another hotel I stayed in nearby on a different trip. Everything you need

They had self parking on site, it did cost $25 a day, the complimentary cookies were delicious, the breakfast buffet was $16 a person but it was very good, the Rooftop grill and Bar was closed for a private event the first night we were there we did get the experience the food and drinks and they were very notable. The staff is extremely friendly throughout the establishment. The hotel was within walking distance of several shops and dining establishments. There was no microwave in our room. The hotel across the street blocks your view if you're located on that side of the hotel. There was a side view shown in the picture. Parking costs $25 a day. Breakfast was an additional charge, and if you ordered off the menu, it was an additional charge on top of the additional charge. Coffee was not complimentary all day. Salvation Army was two doors down, and walking to shops and places to eat was encountered with some homeless asking for money.

This is a well located hotel. Easy walking distance from almost everything to see in Asheville. My only quibble is with an erroneous charge on my bill for some “suite shop misc” which I did not authorize. I knew we would get a parking bill but we didn’t get any extra food or sundries from the hotel. When I tried to call the number on the bill as we were on the highway heading to RDU airport, it was not a functioning number. A bit irritating but the stay overall was fine.
- 5/5
Clean convenient friendly and extremely walkable part of town, best place to stay in Asheville

The hotel was perfect! The atmosphere is so soothing and beautifully appointed. The staff is kind and welcoming. This will be my go to hotel in Asheville from now on.

They checked me in early even though I had pre-checked in but that room wasn’t ready. The room was spacious and very clean. There is a fridge in the room. The bed was very comfortable and even though it’s next to an interstate, it was very quiet. They do charge for parking which isn’t in the booking.com description.

The room was very clean. However we could not control the thermostat for ac. It was 75 degrees in room. Entire unit fell off when I tried to use buttons. And none of the ports go chargers worked. We had a block so it was okay. Staff friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the rooftop bar.

We were on a long wrong trip from NY to GA and decided to stay in this small town on our way back. This was the best hotel of all. The staff was courteous and extremely nice and the hotel was gorgeous and the location was perfect. I never heard of this town before but I fell in love with its beauty and character. If someone is hiring for HR roles reach out I wanna move there from NYC ? Nothing at all, everything was perfect

I had a phenomenal time here. Lynn and the entire front desk staff provided exceptional support and made me feel welcomed and appreciated. The hotel and area around comfortable and walkable while also giving access to many near by attractions and amenities. Definitely worth the stay whether you go solo like I did or with a family. Top stars all the way!
- 5/5
The parking is a little high (25/night), but we knew that going in and it was still a good value with the room cost. We also walked some places, so the location was great.
- 5/5
Fun pool (though no jacuzzi), clean rooms, better than average breakfast buffet, free coffee in the morning, helpful staff.
- 4/5
Hotel was in a great location. All staff was friendly and helpful. The road noise was loud in the rooms. Tv was extremely difficult to figure out and use. The bartender (Candy) in the lobby was super friendly and helpful.

I love staying at the Double Tree in downtown Asheville. The staff are very friendly, courteous and professional. I would give it 5+ stars if the pool was about 3 degrees warmer. Excellent place to stay in Asheville!
- 5/5
Loved it. Great location and well kept rooms.
- 2/5
Room was clean. Breakfast was good, but I was charged $25 for parking of which I was not informed of upon check-in. To top it off, I was charged double for my room for smoking when the only thing I did was fix a cup of coffee in the coffee maker provided by the hotel. Thoroughly disgusted.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was good, and was within walking distance of many places. The only thing I would have to add to improve on is some of the staff at the front desk are not friendly. No smile, no greeting, and one of them I said good morning to and she just looked at me and didn't respond. I did not let this affect my rating because a couple of the women up front were very welcoming, and I shrugged off the grouchiness from the other women. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic and I would stay here again.
- 5/5
This is a fabulous hotel for the price. Clean, modern, great facilities and amenities. The only down side is the minor car noise at night. Bring your ear plugs.

The staff was exceptional and went out of their way to make us happy. Property was quiet and clean. The rooftop views are incredible. The only thing I didn’t like was the TVs were old and you can’t stream or connect your device. You just get basic cable.

Staff courteous, room very clean and on the 8th floor facing the mountains, but you are right next to the main highway. Had we been on the 1-3 floor there might have been an noise issue. If you’re facing the city, you are looking right into the hotel rooms of another hotel. Better to get mountain view 5th or higher.

Upon check in the staff seemed irritated that I was there and rolled her eyes. I had to go back down 3 separate times because the keys didn’t work. The breakfast selection was underwhelming. At one point, my wife noticed an employee drinking alcohol while working, then trying to hide it. The facility seemed very modern, but the first impression was bad and set the precedent for a bad stay.

Would DEFINITELY book here again!!

The front desk agent who handled my check-in was not very friendly, and since I made the reservation for five people, the room should have been prepared for five guests. When I asked for an additional bath towel at the front desk, I was told it would be faster if I came down to pick it up myself

The breakfast staff were especially nice! Lots ve those ladies. Rooms were clean and cozy.
- 5/5
Room was clean and friendly staff.
- 3/5
I have 4 reasons for rating this hotel 3 stars: 1) Had I known it was pet-friendly I probably would not have booked it. Dogs barking--never for a long time, but noticable; 2) Self Parking for $25/day.This is not Vegas, people, this is Asheville. 3) The tile grout in the shower clearly had not had a good cleaning in a while. 4) Right by the highway which is the reason a sound machine is supplied in the room.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff! Nice amenities and new rooms!
- 4/5
The room was large and clean. The one sofa was worn. The air circulation fan rattled when it operated. The heating was excellent. Curiously, the desk was installed backwards so that the one chair would not slide under the desk. Overall, the room was adequate.
- 5/5
This hotel was a great choice for walk ability to downtown Asheville. Convenient self parking but there is a charge. Really enjoyed the Montfort rooftop bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The rooms are spacious with a comfortable seating area. Would be nicer if the buffet breakfast was included but the cookies were a nice perk.
- 2/5
My husband and I didn't like it because they charge $15 for parking and $16 for breakfast, and you have to tip the waiters who serve you. The Bed is excellent the room is noisy (the heating ), The window is not soundproof.
- 4/5
The location is perfect for exploring downtown Asheville. Rooms are nice, staff is very friendly.
- 4/5
Everything was fine with the room. The hallway smelled like fried food or cooking oil.
- 5/5
Everything was amazing! I’ve stayed during the holidays twice and I absolutely love it. I plan to stay here again.
- 3/5
Everything was real good, but I need not realized there was going to be $25 parking fee a day. Everything else was great, but will not stay again because of that.
- 5/5
Location was great and the condition of the hotel was very nice. Would highly recommend while in Asheville.
- 4/5
Really enjoyed the short walk to get around downtown.
- 5/5
The room was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the location was perfect. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar and amenities.
- 5/5
Convenient to downtown.

We loved it-
- 5/5
Staff was great. Location was perfect. Room was clean. I would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean
- 3/5
The check-in staff seemed distant, almost chilly-like they didn't care. Third stay here, and zero acknowledgment for our loyalty. On our second day room wasn't even cleaned or bed made, just towels swapped out. We’re not sure of booking at this hotel again…plus parking fee is so pricey…
- 5/5
Good location. Comfortable room
- 4/5
A $16/person breakfast buffet was ridiculous.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and interested in my comfort.
- 5/5
Did not have breakfast at the hotel. Very pet and family freindly! Great stay!
- 5/5
efficient and pleasant. Would definitely return.
- 3/5
The website for the hotel is misleading. It does not have a full restaurant on the premises (small plates only), and room service is not available. Nice property, enjoyed our stay, but will not book here again.
- 3/5
Staff at the hotel should welcome guests and be friendly instead of act like they don’t want to be there. Housekeepers were very loud in the hallways when they were cleaning nearby rooms.
- 3/5
The valets were very personable and friendly. Every other staff member we encountered at the front desk, the buffet breakfast and server at the restaurant on the first floor seemed annoyed to be there. The front desk staff was not welcoming or friendly at all. The room was nice and clean.
- 5/5
Staff has been great, especially our valet. Clean room and warm cookies!
- 4/5
Yes. The room was spacious.
- 5/5
Thank You for everything
- 5/5
Nice property with great amenities, clean, rooftop bar
- 5/5
Friendly staff, cleaning room, it was a pleasure to stay there
- 5/5
The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It was in great location. There were healthy menu selections. Overall, a wonderful experience. Thank you.
- 4/5
Breakfast was much better than say the Hampton Inn.. bar staff ferry, friendly
- 5/5
Location to restaurants and stores in town were easily walkable . Staff is very friendly and professional.

YES
- 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay and liked the convenience it provided to the downtown area. Easy walk to all the downtown accommodations. My only dislike was that we were on the 7th floor underneath the rooftop restaurant and the sound of chairs moving overhead was obnoxious.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, excellent service. Easy parking or valet both are same price. Took my dog and everyone was very welcome. Walkable to some downtown spots like the grove arcade. Comfortable bed, black out curtains and again quiet.
- 5/5
Our accommodations in were perfectly maintained. The attention to cleanliness was outstanding. We especially appreciated the spectacular view and the quiet and comfortable atmosphere. The hotel's location is also fantastic, with The River Arts District, The Grove Arcade, and awesome restaurant and bar options within walking distance; even on site. The entire team here has created a truly special atmosphere, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you for a flawless stay. A very special thanks to Michele for attending to us even before we arrived and for making our anniversary visit one we wish to repeat for many years to come. We were truly blown away.
- 5/5
Everyone was great!!
- 3/5
Additionally, we were surprised and frustrated that no boxed breakfast was offered, despite our early departure the following morning. This small gesture would have gone a long way to improve our experience. On a positive note, the hotel’s other facilities, such as the well-maintained indoor heated pool, were enjoyable and a highlight of our stay. Overall, while the staff and amenities showed promise, the noise and lack of consideration for early departures significantly detracted from our experience.
- 5/5
Very clean room, super friendly and helpful staff, and the warm cookies at check-in were AMAZING!!! Will definitely be staying at a Double Tree again.
- 5/5
Absolutely lovely
- 5/5
Very close to Harrahs Convention Center only a 4-5 min walk.
- 4/5
Very nice property. The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Enjoyed the room. The buffet breakfast was good but had limited other dining opportunities. Roof top bar and dining area downstairs had shareable dishes but they did not offer sandwiches or any other dishes you would normally see. Their habit of constantly submitting random changes to my credit card to supposedly cover incidental expenses was irritating since I received a notice each time. Why not increase the original amount or just wait until checkout.
- 5/5
Super close to everything
- 4/5
Great location overall. Close enough to walk Downtown or to the RAD. Clean. New rooms. Amazing staff. Very friendly. The roof top bar and restaurant has incredible views. Traffic noise on the side of the building facing the highway is LOUD. The rooms are equipped with white noise machines but it doesn’t make for a great experience. We were on the 4th floor. Maybe it’s better on other floors.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Great staff and location.
- 4/5
The rooms are a but loud from the highway and the cleaning ladies are very loud in the mornings
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a quiet location as well.
- 5/5
Close to everything. Pretty convenient to walk to venues.
- 4/5
Limited restaurant menu and they do not provide a free breakfast
- 1/5
Be well ! Juan and Lori
- 4/5
The sheets were clean, but the carpet and other furniture surfaces were not. The door of my room malfunctioned throughout my stay.
- 4/5
If you are on the mountain side it is a bit noisy from the highway
- 5/5
Wonderful friendly Staff!!
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 5/5
No microwave in room. Rest of room was great.
- 5/5
Great staff& very kind.
- 3/5
When I checked in on 9/14/2025, the front desk staff was not that welcoming, and she was on her phone often, so she didn’t provide us with water bottles and cookies when we checked in. I thought it might differ from the other DoubleTree hotels. Then I saw the other staff offering the guests water bottles and cookies, and then I knew the person might think Asians don’t eat cookies.
- 5/5
I had zero issues while there. Room was clean and spacious, the blackout shades had me sleeping till noon. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Only thing that would make it better would be having the bar stay open till midnight and have breakfast included but there’s a lot of other options in walking distance from the hotel.
- 4/5
Very clean and comfortable. Had trouble with a thermostat and coffee pot not working, and they addressed and fixed right away. That makes such a difference. Hotel is close to the highway, if you choose the mountain view. Sound machines provided. It was worth it to see the beautiful sunsets.
- 5/5
We loved hanging at their rooftop bar The hotel’s location makes it convenient to walk to the local downtown bars and restaurants. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and well stocked with free warm cookies :) We will certainly be back again for another stay at the Doubletree Asheville
- 5/5
- 5/5
The staff was AWESOME
- 5/5
Easy to stay here, great gym, cookies and waters at check in love it
- 5/5
Great staff. A little further from the center of downtown than I would have preferred. But, still walkable. It’s a solid hotel that has amazing rooftop views.
- 5/5
From the moment we checked in until we checked out, the service was impeccable. The chocolate chip cookie upon arrival is so appreciated after a long day of travel, and the bed and bedding is sublime. The rooms are clean and well appointed and decorated. The water is always hot for a great shower with Crabtree & Evelyn products. Elevators were always working, which, if you're on the higher floors is not something to be taken lightly. Parking is $25 a night for self-parking, but there's little to be had in Asheville anyway. You can walk to many things from the hotel. The indoor pool is nice and large enough to actually do laps in. All in all, it was a delightful stay. Thank you.
- 5/5
Lynn at the front desk was very nice & gave great recommendations! The hotel was clean & quiet & we walked almost everywhere we went in downtown Asheville
- 5/5
Everyone was beyond friendly and helpful. Like WOW. Loved that it was animal friendly and I could take my pup with me.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
This was an amazing well-located place to stay. Was able to walk down to prichard park easily for the friday night drum circle :)
- 4/5
We were told Breakfast included in stat then got charged 37.00 on bill not happy about that
- 5/5
My sister & I had a great visit to Asheville. Tge DoubkeTree was located close to the downtown area with cafes, art galleries and cute shops.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Like the rooftop bar. The only negative was $25 parking.
- 4/5
Our stay was easy, clean, and efficient. The two things that could be improved were that there was a $25 per night parking fee which seemed excessive since we parked ourself and this was no destination site. The rooftop restaurant was not the one they picture on the advertisement and they menu lacked salad options. Otherwise I appreciated the clean and well stocked gym and the room was nice.
- 4/5
Reception staff were very good. Would be helpful for them to learn more about Area’s offerings-Outdoor adventures, neighborhood restaurants, bike rentals, go-to bars, etc.
- 5/5
I was traveling with my young son and the staff were so courteous and friendly. Always greeting us with a smile, I felt as if I was enjoying a home away from home.
- 4/5
John, the bar tender at the roof top bar was friendly and gracious.
- 5/5
I have stayed here before. A sold place to stay.
- 5/5
Love the rooms will stay again.
- 5/5
Felt safe uoon arrival. We have nothing bad to say. We were there for only one night!
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable, location was very walkable, room size was generous and they take dogs. Parking was a little difficult.
- 5/5
Great property at downtown Asheville. Especially enjoyed the rooftop bar.
- 4/5
not a fancy hotel but not intended to be. okay but nothing special
- 4/5
Nice room around hotel not so nice short walk to lots of places to eat, did the hop on/off which was very good and a 5 minute walk
- 3/5
Upon arrival at check in the computer was slow, room is small, and shower was dirt
- 5/5
Nice, clean facility with super friendly staff.
- 4/5
Great location within walking distance of everything downtown but still away from it enough to be quiet.
- 5/5
Near a lot of attractions
- 5/5
We spent one night at the hotel and enjoyed our trip. The hotel was excellent, staff was very friendly and helpful, our room had a beautiful mountain view, we walked to downtown Asheville in 8 minutes to reach out the restaurants and downtown attractions. We plan to go there again sometime soon to stay longer.
- 5/5
Great place!
- 4/5
The property was clean and nice! Valet parking was offered however there was no free parking.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful! Breakfast was really good. Location was great. Parking was easy and convenient. Bed was comfortable!
- 5/5
So gracious and lovely
- 3/5
Very Noisy from highway traffic, don’t plan on sleeping if you are on the highway side of the hotel.
- 4/5
I am fond of Doubletree. My only issue was my room on the 3rd floor near the highway was very loud, even for a city girl. They provided ear plugs and a sound machine and I finally adapted. They offered to move me on the second day but I was already unpacked. The only other issue was on the first night, the bed linens were stale smelling. Similar to being put away in a closet for a long time. I'm sure they would have solved this problem but I did not bother. I had a spray that helped. Other than that, the staff were nice, room was clean and property was great for hanging out.
- 4/5
I was in Asheville a few weeks ago and had trouble getting a spot at a rooftop at sunset, so this time I opted to stay downtown at a hotel with a rooftop bar for a sunset view. When I checked in, I asked if I would need a reservation (on a Saturday night), and was told no. About 4:15 pm, I went to the rooftop restaurant and asked if I would need to reserve a spot for sunset, just in case, and was told no by the host, with what appeared to also be a manager standing there. I was told no. So I went downtown and as the sun was coming down, walked back to the hotel and up to the rooftop bar. I was asked if I had a reservation by the same host, and I reminded them that they told me I would not need one. The host said it was the timing, and I reminded them that I specifically asked about sunset. They then validated, that yes, they did say this. I was told that there wouldn't be seats until after dark, and that I could go to the neighboring hotel, which I would assume would be full as well. I didn't want to walk back downtown at that time, although I would have stayed down there later if I knew the rooftop wasn't an option. I ended up just going back to my room. I think that the host and/or manager should have made a reservation just in case. What would that have hurt? It would have been for 2 people.
- 5/5
Staff was extremely nice. Beautiful hotel. Only downside was small parking lot and highway noise from where our room was located.
- 5/5
Excellent location and rooftop bars
- 5/5
Lovely views and great staff.
- 5/5
Everything was good except the number of towels were always less when we were staying in 6person room. Parking spots were less for 20$ parking. We were 5 people to check in but received only 2 cookies and two water bottles. I think that was not always the case in double tree hotels from my experience in other double tree hotels.
- 4/5
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only issue was the cleaning staff never made up our room on the second morning there. When I called down at 3 to inquire about when they were coming I was informed they already left for the day. The front desk did send up some clean towels.
- 5/5
Perfect stay!
- 5/5
We had a very good staycation
- 5/5
Clean spacious rooms, short walk to restaurants and shops downtown
- 5/5
Very nice location and hotel
- 4/5
Very clean, beautiful view of the mountains. You can see the highway but it’s entertaining and interesting. 2 good restaurants and the rooftop bar has a relaxing beautiful view of the mountains. The staff was friendly and helpful. The vibes were good. Cleaning staff was awesome. I stayed in a 1 bedroom king. Wish they had a microwave in the room. But there’s a public one in the lobby.
- 5/5
Was a nice stay very quiet area.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean and the front desk was courteous.
- 4/5
This property is located in Asheville Village surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Walking distance from my conference and shops. The staff were friendly and helpful with my questions. The exercise facility was very nice and great equipment.
- 1/5
We were given the key to someone else's room upon checking in. We entered the room to find the TV on and someone's belongings all over the room. There very well could have been someone changing, or someone could have attacked us is they thought we were trying to break in. Heather, at the front desk, told us we were wrong before checking herself and then getting us a new room. She tried to brush off our concerns and only offered free breakfast to compensate. This was likely a legal offense and made us feel unsafe at the hotel for the entirety of our trip.
- 3/5
Room is clean. Soaps and such are full size and bolted to the walls. I liked the Evelyn and Crabtree products.
- 5/5
Location was perfect. We could walk around downtown easily. Clean and delicious breakfast.
- 5/5
Great location, clean, large rooms, friendly staff. Walkable to many amenities.
- 5/5
Warm Welcome, very helpful staff, and location being in the center
- 5/5
The grounds and building were beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We would love to visit again.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Very clean, comfy beds, nice bathroom with great shower, excellent condition, easy walk to downtown and Montfort historic district, friendly staff
- 5/5
The roof top bar had an amazing view !! Very friendly staff.
- 5/5
This hotel was exceptional! Beautiful, clean, fantastic staff, great location. Rooms with sitting area was beautiful! Rooftop area was beautiful!
- 5/5
Very quiet staff good and very walkable
- 5/5
Parking lot is waaaay too small!
- 4/5
Nice property. Friendly staff. Great location
- 5/5
Great hotel in a good location. Very clean and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
Thanks. Good stay.
- 5/5
Nothing it’s a great place
- 5/5
Great staff.
- 4/5
Excellent hotel for an overnight stay. Ample room size. The bed was a little too “wobbly” though - not good for a light sleeper like me.
- 3/5
We paid almost $600 for 2 nights, so we could walk to harrah’s Cherokee center for a competition. The bathroom was covered in mold. The comforters on the beds were so old and washed so many times you could almost see through them.
- 5/5
A lovely lobby and beautiful swimming pool. Had a great view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, as well as a portion of town. Close to great dining and shopping. Comfortable bedding and spacious room.
- 2/5
Reserved a 2 queen room, accessible high floor (it was the only remaining option with 2 beds and a view), upon check-in we were given a room on the 3rd floor (out of 8). When I asked the front desk, they said “sorry Expedia had the wrong description” and that there were no queen rooms left. A quick check on the doubletree website showed queen rooms available for reservation. I asked the front desk and was rudely told “I don’t know where you’re getting your information from but that’s wrong.” We were later told “the room showing had been taken out of service and we understand how this could be misleading.” Additionally, nothing mentioned that this room was an adjoining room. As 2 young women traveling alone, not my favorite idea. Staff was ehh, tried to buy some sodas one night and was told “the drawer is already closed so you need to put it on your room or pay with a card.” The room (although larger than average) definitely showed its age and wear. Outlets were loose and finicky. The sink was annoying and the faucet itself was loose, and positioned too far back from the sink bowl making it hard to use. The only highlight is the rooftop bar, it’s definitely worth a visit and offers beautiful views of Asheville. I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels in downtown Asheville (we’ve been visiting 1-2 times a year for years) and this was by far my least favorite accommodation, and for the price was extremely disappointing. Do not recommend and will not be back.
- 5/5
Great location and rooftop bar had a great view!
- 4/5
Property with great view on mountains
- 4/5
Nice stay, but pay for daily parking and breakfast when right across the street neither happened.
- 5/5
Great place to stay near downtown.
- 5/5
This hotel stay was pretty last minute and I chose it mostly for affordability. Upon check-in, I knew I had made a great decision. The staff at the desk were so friendly and professional, and that kicked off a really great stay in general. Nice comfy room, great amenities, and really great location. I was able to walk to bars and shops easily. I would absolutely stay here again when I come back to Asheville
- 5/5
After spending a few days out in the country a luxurious stay at the Doubletree was just what we needed
- 5/5
Great experience!
- 4/5
Nice place. Room above us was noisy but that’s not hotel fault. All in all would go back. Nice front staff!
- 5/5
Very good
- 5/5
Everything was perfect !! The hostess was very nice & made us fee welcome !
- 5/5
Love the rooftop bars/dining. Love the size of the room w comfortable sitting area.
- 4/5
Stay, location, restaurants at the property are fantastic. Amenites that could be improved: TV( Atleast have a firetv). Parking could be discounted for the guests.
- 5/5
Nice hotel and convenient to downtown
- 5/5
We had fun on the rooftop and enjoyed a beautiful sunset
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean, comfortable.
- 5/5
Great comfy stay in downtown Asheville
- 5/5
Great location.
- 5/5
My husband is in a wheelchair and sometimes traveling can be difficult. This hotel is the best experience we have ever had from the easy parking for a handicap van to the spacious room with every thing we could need. We would stay here again gladly and highly recommend it to anyone.
- 5/5
Great Place to stay, many places to walk to, Staff was super friendly, clean place
- 5/5
Hotel was 10/10 except the PAID $18 per person breakfast that was abysmal. Pancakes were crackers, bacon was one giant lump that you had to rip apart, bread on display was molding, it was comical. It ends at 10am and they started taking stuff away at 9:40 so we were left with almost nothing to eat....again...for $36 GD dollars
- 5/5
Stay was very smooth and as expected all around!
- 4/5
Convenience to where I was visiting
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and convenient! Great staff. You will have to pay for parking.
- 5/5
The property was very easy to get to from the highway and it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The only thing that you need to be aware of is there is a $25 per night parking fee.
- 1/5
The staff at this hotel were really rude and not very understanding of a situation that their system caused. My bestfriends birthday was ruined bc we were charged double for 1 night at this hotel, it took a whole week for me to get any funds back and it ruined our brunch plans and everything! I am very upset with this hotel, and the breakfast was absolutely horrible
- 5/5
Great and very clean hotel!

This hotel felt very welcoming immediately upon entering. The front desk staff greeted us and checked us in promptly, and we easily made it to our room which, with two queen beds and a pullout, was sized and suited perfectly for our family. It was so comfortable in the room! My kids fully enjoyed the pool. We also made use of the lounge area with those we were in town with. No area of the hotel disappointed at all. Very close to the Cherokee Center, we could have walked but the weather made us change our minds. Super short drive. Absolutely a perfect stay! Have stayed at other DoubleTrees but this was the best to date.
- 5/5
Despite the snow, we really enjoyed our stay lol!! Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. We really enjoyed our rooftop meal and the snowy views. Definitely would stay here again if I have to come back.
- 5/5
Very comfortable, clean and excellent service for a good price, I would come again.
- 5/5
Very close to downtown
- 5/5
Staff very kind, love the gym, and the breakfast ok
- 5/5
Nice location, clean, easy access to downtown asheville. Rooftop bar is a nice touch
- 4/5
But every morning we were presented a bill Multiple day “coupons” should have been given with the initial room key
- 5/5
Great service and clean facilities
- 4/5
Lots of traffic noise. Rooftop was willing to work with me as a person with celiac. Closed early.
- 5/5
Beds and room were very comfortable and clean. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooftop bar had excellent food, drinks and staff.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Good food
- 5/5
Clean up scale beautiful place. Love the roof top restaurant looking over the city.
- 5/5
Location was great, parking and convenient to hop on hop off bus.
- 1/5
Not able to get to site due to hurricane having difficulty getting refund. My daughter wedding was cancelled due to hurricane Helena. Hotel closed and unable to reach any hotel staff to discuss not easy
- 5/5
The only challenge to the room we stayed in was the noise off the highway which was discernable from the bed, but not in the rest of the room. Noise cancelling / or white noise option might be a solution.
- 4/5
Convenient
- 5/5
good location. clean rooms.
- 5/5
If we make States for USTA. Always great easy and comfortable!
- 4/5
Easy
- 5/5
Excellent stay and property! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
Always a pleasure staying here!!
- 5/5
I loved everything about this property. The rooms and beds were really nice, and I really enjoyed the rooftop restaurant. I wish there was a rooftop pool, where you could have a view of the mountains😊😊😊😊
- 5/5
The room was clean and well appointed. It was very convenient for the conference which was on the second floor. The rooftop restaurant is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone staying here.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly
- 3/5
The AC was not working well and the door wouldn't open
- 3/5
- 4/5
The room was clean. Honestly the front desk person was matter of fact. The food at the dogwood cafe was not not good and we just got a salad and one with chicken. No flavor at all. The drinks at the rooftop bar was good though. I never give a negative review but I would not choose this hotel again.
- 5/5
Clean and very friendly staff!
- 5/5
Holden one of the managers was extremely nice. Recommended places to eat.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 3/5
Did not clean the room. Wi-Fi not secure. Very loud air system.
- 3/5
Room was adjacent to road and traffic was loud at night and the morning.
- 4/5
Location was close to restaurants and shops. Room was comfortable. Nice rooftop bar with views.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, knowledge about the area.
- 5/5
Very nice property. Walking distance to downtown.
- 5/5
Great room and convenient location
- 4/5
Great stay. Little bit of highway noise. Some staff were very friendly and others seemed to not like their jobs too much. Overall highly recommend. Also, not sure why you have vinyl covers and no vinyl…would have loved to listen to music in your beautiful lounge!
- 4/5
The Doubletree hotel was a nice hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooftop bar was nice. We ate breakfast at the hotel as it was convenient and good.
- 5/5
We stay here every year. Convenient and walkable to downtown shopping. Safe.
- 5/5
We loved staying at the Doubletree. It was spotless and the customer service was wonderful. The valet is the same cost as self-park. I loved that we could walk to the Grove Arcade district and to downtown Asheville. I highly recommend staying here.
- 5/5
They were very accommodating at the front desk.
- 5/5
Service was great. Roof top bar a must for sunset watching and food. Breakfast buffet and omelette options tasty and staff super friendly. Valet parking easy.
- 5/5
The staff and amenities were amazing. We had a few random ants in our room and noisy next door neighbors. All in all, a nice place to stay.
- 5/5
Nicer than the price would suggest. Nice rooftop bar, lobby bar, and cheap breakfast buffet.
- 5/5
Clean, attractive facilities and professional, courteous staff. Convenient downtown location.
- 4/5
.
- 4/5
Staff wasn't communicative
- 3/5
House keeping never showed up on day 2 of our stay. We called the front desk at 6pm and they said they would take care of it but i learned later that house keeping left at 3 so there was no one to come take care of it. We returned again at 11pm to a messy room.
- 5/5
Hotel was absolutely lovely. Our room was spacious and had a great view. The staff was very helpful. The only complaint is that the hotel is directly beside a busy highway. Despite that, the room was still surprisingly quiet. We enjoyed out stay.
- 4/5
My daughter and I came into town for the Lauren Daigle concert and stayed. The location of the hotel is great. Easily walkable for downtown adventures. We both found the beds a bit uncomfortable but that may just be personal preference. Overall great hotel with good employees.
