While you can tell the property is trying to update and improve, it leaves a lot to be desired, here was my experience. I booked this stay for a soccer tournament for my son thinking we could stay close and hop in the pool after a long day in the sun... After the first day of games, hot and tired, GPS leads us into a mostly abandoned, depressed shopping center in downtown Anderson, CA... Thinking this was GPS mistake I almost turned around until I realized there was, in fact a hotel there to, a gray desolate building marked only with a blank, black sign... Even my 10 year old was a bit nervous. Check in went strangely as there was no one at the desk, and I was instructed by a handmade sign on the counter to call a cell phone for service. I called twice before a woman answered and appeared shortly after for check in. She was efficient but not friendly or very helpful besides to check in. When we got to the room it was clean, I was relieved but as my son soon discovered the TV worked but had no working channels and there was no paper or sign with wifi login info. I walked back to the front were there were now 3 surley women to told me "no wifi, cable's out" and didn't seem to want to offer me much more explanation. Annoyed, but not dismayed, I returned to the room to get in the pool with my son, when we found it (there were zero signs) we found it was dirty and turned right around. I cancelled my reservation (with a lot of trouble as it was impossible to find employees).

Laminated floor was very dirty. Hair in one of the beds. No front desk phone. No coffee at 8:55am for breakfast. Positive was a medium size fridge and microwave. Wait 3-4 months before booking a night here

Barely any guests staying at the hotel which already seemed alarming. Multiple weird people hanging out in front of the hotel every day, they seemed homeless. Cigarettes everywhere on property (in plants, outside of hotel rooms in ashtrays). WIFI wasn't available. Breakfast was horrendous, the eggs tasted like plastic and everything just had really poor quality and no hot water available to make tea. Room was okay, however the shower had hair in the drain and black stains, on top of that there were food crumbs on the ground under the sink. Also no room cleaning offered.

I couldn’t tell if this property was open. No one was in the office to check guests in. Note on the door said call this number for front desk. Someone finally arrived and checked us in. The sign for the hotel was painted black, so no sign with the name of the hotel on it. There were very few guests at the hotel. The next morning we went to the breakfast room. No lights on in the lobby. There was someone at the front desk. A few minutes after we started eating breakfast, the hotel staff said they were going outside. We didn’t see them again. The whole stay felt creepy.

Do not waste your money on this place. The entire place stunk like cigarettes, lobby and room included although we had a smoke free room. They charge extra for pets, but only say they are pet friendly not that theirs a charge. The room like previously stated smelled like cigarettes but with a mix of random chemicals. In the few minutes we were in there we saw bugs on the ground and noticed multiple stains on the floors. If you arrive after nine the staff won’t be at the front desk. They instead have a paper taped to the window to call BEST WESTERN because that’s all this place is, to tell them to go do their job. This place was gross.

During my four night stay housekeeping did not come by even one time. There is no wifi. Amenities that are listed are not offered. It did seem clean or well cared for. I'm grateful I just needed a place to sleep and wasn't spending much time here.

This property is a Motel 7 and not Anderson Valley Inn. We tried to check in at 7 pm and lobby was locked with sign to call a phone number that went to a Motel 6 directory. A person showed up in the lobby, looked at us then went to a desk and wrote a note to say he was taking a lunch break. We told home we had been traveling 10 hours and he said I’m going to lunch, come back at 7:30. The property looked miserable so we left without checking in. Recommend you avoid this property and stay in Redding.

Arrival and check-in easy. I specifically booked the hotel for the pool. I had to ask the office to unlock the gate. A short wait time.It was nice. I was disappointed the next morning when we went to swim at 9AM when the pool was supposed to be open. Maintenance had just put the Shock treatment in, we had to wait until noon. I again had to get the office to unlock the gate. Room was fine. I would have liked a small dining table and chairs but we worked it out. There's a grocery store right across the street so easy access for snacks and meals.

Two big problems were: 1) The alarm clock went off at midnight. It was loud and sounded like there was a fire or some other emergency. Housekeeping really needs to check to make sure that alarms are turned off from prior guests. It ruined my whole night's sleep. 2) The curtains blocked the air coming from the air conditioner window unit. This kept the room from being able to get to a comfortable temperature.

Our family would def stay here again just based off the service alone.

Also offered no discount on your stay for the inconvenience. First day of breakfast was cold, second day of breakfast was non-existent, and it was only 7am. The weekend front desk clerk seems like she does not care. There are a lot of tweakers staying there. Place has gone down hill big time and we will no longer be staying there when we come to town for racing.

Cons: the breakfast had challenging aspects. The juice machine was broken (provided a container of OJ in fridge). The regular coffee dispenser was broken. They put the coffee in a metal dispenser that didn’t keep it warm. No access to a microwave. No half and half for the coffee, only French Vanilla creamer (which I don’t like at all). I had to go to Starbucks across the street for my coffee on day one. Day two I just dealt with it. They are pet friendly yet it was difficult to take our little dog out to potty since it’s a rough parking lot and only a very small grass area (with no bags in the dispenser). The fee is $30 per night (be aware since it adds up on multiple nights). Normally I would shrug these issues off but wanted others to

Customer service was nice. The first night was ok the issue was there was no elevator, only stairs. We struggled getting our stroller and bouncer up the stairs. They did move us to the first floor the second day in room 114 but we had more issues. The tv remote was broken, fridge made a raddle noice and froze my sons formula, the microwave was acting up, the heater didnt warm up the room and i found dead ants in the shower. We were happy there was a donut shop in the parking lot. Even though Customer service was nice the overall stay i would not stay here again.
