Reviews
The hotel is undergoing renovations, which has resulted in a mix of newly renovated and outdated rooms. Guests have expressed both satisfaction and dissatisfaction with their stays, often depending on the state of their assigned room. The staff is generally praised for their friendliness and helpfulness.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Newly renovated rooms are spacious and clean
- Inconsistency in room quality due to ongoing renovations
- Outdated rooms may have issues such as broken fixtures, poor cleanliness, and strange smells
- 4/5
The biggest thing I wish I would have seen in the reviews was that every room has a big glass door and windows on each side entering the room. They do have big wooden blinds to black out the windows, but I was highly surprised for the glass door and windows.
- 5/5
First time to stay you can tell it was nice awesome they are doing some upgrades will def stay again
- 5/5
The kids had so much fun, the staff was kind and attentive.
- 3/5
The room was clean but everything is very worn down and you can tell the overall hotel isn’t well maintained. For example, caulking being red/discolored, a giant sink faucet in the bathroom vs a bathroom faucet, doors having worn scratch marks, overall it’s just very run down and needs some serious updating. I will give a 10/10 for insulation, you couldn’t hear anyone outside of the room even though the door to leave the room was glass and two glass panels on either side of it. The beds were clean and comfortable as well. They also have a lot of entertainment for the kids but don’t waste your money at the arcade, most games are claw machines and the prizes are way bigger than the claws can pick up.
- 2/5
This hotel does not warrant the current rating it holds here on Expedia. The property is confusing: there is signage from the previous hotel iteration up all over the place, very little signage indicating where to go and the room numbers change (there were rooms in the 200s and 500s) on the 2nd floor. The property is not well maintained: one elevator was broken and the other had cracked and broken tile flooring and smelled strongly of urine, the room was not properly cleaned, smelled of mildew, and overall felt a little gross. They allow pets but the bed in our room was fully open underneath, allowing small pets (like cats) to get underneath and be very difficult to remove. The hotel communicated through Expedia, a lot, and instead of just writing the message it was always an attachment with a link to check-in early. This made it seem like this was the only option for checking in to the hotel, it wasn't. We later learned there was one person at the front desk but she was by herself when there were many many guests on the property. Overall, it should not be rated as highly as it is and we will not be staying there again.
- 2/5
The property is a bit rundown overall. Most of the extra amenities (games and such) weren’t accessible due to an event booked at the hotel. The worst part is the state of the room - it smelled like stale cigarette smoke in a nonsmoking room and the couch was so stained that we wouldn’t dare sit on it. For the price they are charging, that is just unacceptable. And by the state if everything else, including rusty handrails, worn paint, chipped tiles, and an out of order elevator that had a sign indicating this was a long standing situation, it wasn’t worth asking for anything to be addressed by the hotel.

Freaking awesome!!!
- 5/5
The staff's hospitality, the quality of the accommodations, and the overall experience made this a memorable stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
- 3/5
Property is being renovated slowly. Door jams were in disrepair. Issues with locks. I think this will eventually be a nice, value property. But, it has a ways to go.
- 4/5
Never had to leave the hotel after taking care of business. I had everything I needed at the hotel.
- 4/5
The room was clean. You can tell it is in the process of being renovated. The breakfast and the staff were excellent.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
really pretty inside nice decor nice restaurant/bar facilities were either closed or just kinda ass like the “golf course” was just a small circle that people kept walking through and the little pillows they used for cornhole didn’t even fit in the holes, the game room looked run down.. the “free breakfast” is just coffee and waffles the actual breakfast like eggs and sausage and stuff you have to pay for
- 3/5
Needs improvement in emergency services ,as alternate source of electricity. Power went of for more than 2 hrs ,with no emergency lights in room or generator supply to rooms ,however power was availble in common children play area and reception .
- 5/5
The only negative thing I can say about this pet friendly hotel is they need an actual space for the dogs to go outside.
- 5/5
Great remodel on this facility. Terrific bar and restaurant; amazing atrium with breakfast space, gathering, and pool area. Room nicely refreshed. Highly recommend for local non-chain accommodations. Staff at check-in for my traveling colleague was real southern-hospitality. Thank you so much for a great experience!!!
- 5/5
Everything was amazing from clean room to breakfast in laundry although the lady I have serving the breakfast or making the breakfast was a little rude and kept on saying out loud I guess they're not leaving no tip I guess they're not leaving no tip that was the only downfall other than that everything was great
- 2/5
Definitely does not look like the pictures. Pretty dirty rooms, and the ac sucked.
- 5/5
The staff was great! They went out of there way to be helpful.
- 1/5
Room was dirty, floors in play room were soaking wet and and charged us for "stained bedding" when all we had in the room was water. Would NOT stay here again. Cheap remodel.
- 1/5
Wouldn't stay there.........
- 2/5
I actually love staying at this place but the room I was in smelled of cigars and men’s cologne very strong. And the TV wouldn’t work half the time and the shower had so much water pressure which is great but the shower curtain couldn’t handle it and drown the bathroom.
- 5/5
The room was quite large and clean. Everything worked just fine. The bed was more comfortable than most motel beds. It was pretty quiet after 9:00. When I went down for breakfast, I was pleasantly surprised to see the sausage patties were actually fried on a griddle. The eggs looked like they were made on the spot as well. There is, of course, a selection of waffles, cereal, fruit, juices, and coffee. It is better than most.

Very family friendly environment with friendly staff and clean and comfortable rooms.
- 5/5
Highly recommend staying here..everything was perfect.. rooms were clean, breakfast was good and several thing to do..
- 3/5
The lobby and community area was great but there were some broken ceiling tiles and an elevator out of order. The room itsself needed some work for sure. It had not only chipping paint but was very aged. Tv was older as was the furniture. The biggest issue was the smell of the room. It was super perfumed but also smelled like wet laundry at the same time. Breakfast was ok, but it seemed like as guests we were an inconvenience to the cook. One sausage a piece and cold portions. The online pictures definitely fool you into thinking its going to be a luxury. We may try to stay again once some updates if any are made.
- 5/5
Clean and comfy room .
- 3/5
Pool and center courtroom were really nice, but the room left a lot to be desired, looked run down and beds were very squeaky/loud and hard and uncomfortable, and that’s with us paying for a deluxe room.
- 1/5
We ended up leaving shortly after check-in and taking the loss. The overwhelming mold smell (especially in our room) and grime was too much.
- 0.5/5
The only thing I can say is it was a place for my family to sleep after driving 2 days on our cross country move. The property was nothing like the pictures shown on Booking.com. The hotel was located in a sketchy area, the parking felt unsafe, and the facilities were extremely run-down. When we walked up to our room, there was a drunk woman and a man sitting directly outside our door. They were loud, disruptive, and refused to move. The room doors barely closed properly, which only added to the feeling of insecurity. I was genuinely concerned for my family’s safety throughout our stay. This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I would not recommend this property to anyone traveling with family.

The room had broken wooden blinds on the glass doors to the front of the room. The whole room smelled like pet urine. The air-conditioning unit was very loud and gave off a moldy odor. The front desk staff was amazing. The breakfast lady was very rude. This place was probably amazing 30 years ago, but I would not stay here again.

But the staff? The staff are wonderful! They even brought some treats for my dog, Daisy, with a cute little card! It was just myself and I felt comfortable staying alone there.

Place was loud dirty and unkept… yuck!!
- 5/5
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the special treatment that they gave made us feel so welcomed. We would 100% recommend Cactus Cove Inn for everybody.
- 4/5
This is a very unique and eclectic hotel, it has a fun vibe! Room is a little outdated and the elevator isn’t in a convenient location but the breakfast was phenomenal! Cooked to order along with other continental items.
- 5/5
The hotel was very unique in a good way. I enjoyed my stay. Room was clean and staff was friendly. The property is very family oriented.

Being a local and what this place used to be they have absolutely done amazing job of turning it around.

The saving grace of our stay was that the bed was comfortable & for a hotel it was quiet. My husband said the breakfast was good & all the staff we ran into were friendly & helpful. We didn't use any amenities, but after seeing the pics online & reading reviews my expectations were high but the hotel itself is rough around the edges to say the least. The window in our room was cracked, carpet was frayed & tearing, tiles cracked & missing etc. My husband took a shower & kept getting scalded, presumably when another room turned on their water? The idea is there but the bones of this place are just worn down & falling apart. Clean, quiet, comfy bed, decent breakfast but in need of some serious repair & attention to detail.
- 3/5
If you like the sound of freeway noise & screaming children this is the place for you. To maximize both request a room near the pool. As usual the pictures look better than the actual rooms.
- 4/5
A good suggestion would be to hire friendlier staff . I found them to be very rude. Gave no helpful information. The maids never came to our room to see if we needed trash thrown or if we needed towels. I had to go request them. And we were there for more than one night. Shouldn't they have came on my second day. Also need handicap paved to come into the side doors. M
- 3/5
The door closure was not secure. The shower door opened while using. Room smelled like chlorine and was very noisy.
- 4/5
This is a "unique" hotel. It has a very interesting atmosphere and I would consider very family friendly. I would give this hotel a 5 star, but it's still being renovated. It's large, has an indoor pool, mini golf, playground, fountain with koi, and attached restaurant. The room was clean and mostly renovated. The only thing I disliked was the entry doors into the rooms. They are retrofitted and it is noticeable; the entrance wall to the interior is made of three glass paned doors which have wood shutters on the inside of the room. The other thing that is important to know for the elderly or those using wheelchairs or walkers, the carpet in the halls is pretty bad - it is not stretched properly in several sections and is a tripping hazard. The carpet also didn't appear to be vacuumed often, and lots of dirt and debris were in corners and along the walls. I think this hotel will be absolutely amazing upon completion of the renovation. I stayed alone and felt safe which was the most important thing to me. I did not eat at the restaurant but have been told by friends that it is really good food. It has a decent free breakfast and the option for a cooked hot breakfast for a fee.
- 5/5
Clean and plenty of things for kids to do and great Breakfast Clean great location and nice restaurant next door
- 2/5
The indoor activities for the little ones was nice to have especially after a full day of driving. The lady who served breakfast was very nice and was working her tail off by herself serving and cleaning the area. The beds were very hard and the room AC didn’t work well as the room was too warm and stuffy. The front of the hotel appeared nice but once you drove around to park you realized it was not kept up and appeared to be quite sketchy.

The restaurant was awesome and amazing staff! We arrived late they had a band and people dancing, however they were still able to make food for us since we had kids. Overall I very kid and family oriented place!
- 5/5
Really cool hotel - amenities were uniquely designed within a center courtyard of the hotel. Staff was great and the rooms were spacious. The only thing we didn’t love was a lack of amenity for our dogs. There was no specific place to let our dogs do their business. We had to walk to neighboring facilities to find grass etc. otherwise a great place.
- 3/5
Code for door did not get workmultiple visits fron the reception desk. Light sockets do not hold any 110~120v plugs all worn out in our room, unable to charge devices like phones. Free cookies at the front desk were good. Staff were great.
- 4/5
The restaurant was great. The free breakfast very good. The bed was heaven. I was unable to get water hot enough to enjoy a good bath or shower.
- 5/5
Great place to take the kids!!

Key code to get in your door and online check in convenient - but they never actually texted me the code in advance I still had to wait at the front desk. They have great hype on social media and in theory it would be great but nothing worked. Will not recommend. The indoor pool makes the whole place feel like a swamp. Kids playground was closed during the posted open hours to the point we never got to try it before having to leave (this was the point of staying here) they said it was “drying”… the slide in the lobby violently shoots kids out and knocks them around inside both of ours came out crying. The room looks like you just painted over everything without fixing anything. Giant wardrobe unsecured it moved and leaned every time we opened it. The plumbing in the bathroom pulled out of the wall when you used it. Double beds are tiny idk why a hotel wouldn’t do queens there is room.

This was the first stop on purpose family road trip and I wish we could've stayed just a bit longer. Lots of activities for kids. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay here again.

It has a unique atmosphere. Lovely room. Bed was comfortable. The elevator closest to our room was not working.
- 3.5/5
Renovation wasn't complete so it was messy. No TV remote. Rugs in hallway were not flat. Pool not filled. Elevator not working. Washer dryer room had no overhead lights and were difficult to use. (had to download an app, add more money than I needed, no soap available to buy) It had the potential to be a cool kitchy place. Wonder what it will be like in 6 months!

Room smell like cigarettes and was unbearable to sleep in

Ample parking, lady on reception was a diamond, the best sleep we’ve had in route 66. Some areas are tired and need updating. Broken tiles in the loft need replacing The extractor fan in room 601 bathroom looked like it could come off the ceiling at any point.

We had a late check in but pleasantly surprised at how unique this hotel truly is! Room was spacious, clean and quiet. Will definitely stay again!
- 3/5
This was an interesting hotel, it had an excellent mural outside and the interior was kind of neat and it was trying for a a boutique type of atmosphere. But the remodel seemed superficial. There was unpatched drywall and it was not the cleanest room with a cracked bathroom vanity. It would be reasonable for $80 a night, not $120. The shower had great water pressure though and the beds were fine. It was okay.
- 5/5
Staff really helpful and accommodating... Room was nice. Kris aka Fabio the bartender rocks! The bar manager was such a NICE person making us feel so welcome. This place is so nice we stopped on our way west and also on our return trip. Give the hotel and bar a try....we met some nice people while there
- 3/5
Built in 1983, it was a hayday in its prime. Not so much today. Carpets were ruffled down the center of all the hallways, trip hazard. In our room, carpet felt dirty. I chose the room based on the photos at Hotel.com. The room was literally nothing like the photos. Couldn't keep any device plugged in to any of the outlets, which was not convenient. Bed was uncomfortable. Very quiet room, analog TV was the pits! Wouldn't stay connected.
- 3/5
When we got to the room it was definitely not what we seen on the photos. (I was told “ Our property does offer a variety of room styles and renovation levels”) our room was not renovated and smelled musty and old.. bathroom tiles were coming off and the toilet would back up. I say this not to deter people from booking but make sure you select a high grade room if you want the pictures in the photos. Pool opened at 9 and kids enjoyed swimming, they played on the swing set for a minute and had a quick jump on the bouncy house and went down the yellow slide and got to feed the fish. The amenities were good for having to waste some time with the kiddos in the morning.
- 3/5
Property could have been better as the pool wasn’t open as it was being refilled and the breakfast was only waffles and bagels.
- 5/5
We stayed overnight here and it was fine. Property is right next to the hwy, but the sound proof rooms worked great! Didn't hear them at all. Property is older and has had some upgrades. We were disappointed in the bathroom, plumbing loose and no fan. Breakfast was waffles and cereal mostly. Good but not egg or meat options. Price was good though!

This is not an 8 hotel… 4 at best, giving motel 6 vibes. Pool was nice… room, furniture, and carpets were nasty. Uncomfortable beds and smelled funny. Really not a nice place to stay.
- 5/5
I have to give this hotel serious kudos. We stayed overnight on both directions for our trip to NM. The first night was so great that we worked it out to stay again on our way home. Beds were comfortable, rooms were quiet and breakfast was good. Not your normal premade stuff. The little shop is cute and all the stuff for kids is great. The burger at the bar was delicious. Can’t wait to go that way again.
- 4/5
Very nice restaurant on site.

The place was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful!
- 4/5
Room was clean, beds comfortably, bathroom door way needed repainted. Carpet in halways need replaced or aleast stretched. But it was clean and family friendly. Would definitely stay again. Our double queen was only $125.00 for the night
- 4.5/5
Mostly everything. The whole family had fun. The room was clean, bed was comfy. Couch had a hide a bed in it. The hotel provided everything we needed. Staff was very friendly! We would definitely stay again! We were a little disappointed with what the rooms looked like because they didn’t match the pictures we saw when we booked, but they weren’t awful or anything. Some are still being updated from previous owners I think.

Good location near the main road, the hotel is fine for one night if you're passing through, well connected and the staff are friendly. It's difficult to find and there's no sign from the road indicating its location.
- 5/5
My 10 yr old and I enjoyed all the amenities and the breakfast was delicious! They had 7 types of cereal, waffles, yogurt, bagels, breads, and fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and sausage. We'll definitely stay here again when in the area! They've got a restaurant on-site, but we didn't eat there.
- 3/5
Breakfast was bad. I saw their server washing dishes and immediately came over to serve food without gloves or proper hand washing.
- 5/5
Check in was delayed because nobody was at the front desk. I went looking for someone who worked there and was able to locate them. The lady was very nice, but was working on several things in addition to checking people in. Otherwise it was a good stay. Very cool renovated retro Hotel with a cool Honky Tonk attached.
- 2/5
Positive was the "Texas sized" corn hole game & mini golf.
- 1/5
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The pictures online are very misleading and look nothing like the actual property. The outlets were old and worn out, making it difficult to plug in and charge our devices. The bathroom was also in poor condition—the marble was cracked and looked outdated. Overall, it felt like we paid for a much nicer hotel than what we actually received. Definitely not worth the price.
- 5/5
Stayed here for one night on a solo motorcycle ride. Place was amazing and just what I was looking for. Room was spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Good TV with Roku. The hotel has a really cool inner “courtyard” with putt putt, slides, a pool and other family amenities. The attached bar/grill has killer food and I was able to order online and pick it up since I was tired and weathered. I’d stay here again for sure.

Very unique hotel. Was a little nervous but pleasantly surprised! Only thing I would change is how strong the air freshener in the room was. For those sensitive to scents and air quality it was a little rough.

We loved the ambience of the entire property. Breakfast was delicious and the staff person running the kitchen was incredible. Our room needed a few minor repairs or updates, but it appeared that this was actively in progress around the property.
- 5/5
Such a whimsical hotel! Was a comfortable stopping point for my road trip to NM. Pool was great, so was the bar and restaurant. Feeding the koi’s was awesome and I loved the decor. Staff were so friendly.
- 4/5
Room was nice. Had trouble finding the entrance there is a bar/lounge right there also. Not a great place to walk pets but shower was good and bed was comfortable
- 5/5
Everything was so beautiful I loved this place only thing we did not care for was the conditioning barely worked it was always hot and the microwave didn’t work also wifi was pretty bad but overall I love this place so much to do and fun for the kids and family!!!
- 3/5
The breakfast was good-cooked there by staff and not "hospital eggs." The staff member serving breakfast was not very pleasant. There was a Mother's Day event going on that we were not aware of when we booked the room. The entire mezzanine was completely crowded with people there for the event and apparently the pool had been rented out for the event and was completely crowded. By the time the event was over, the pool and hot tub closed and we weren't able to use them. When we arrived there was no place to park our vehicles due to the event going on. One elevator was out of order and when we checked in, there didn't seem to be staff who knew where the elevator was.The room was ok-some of the people we were with did not have a working TV.
- 3/5
Some of the rooms are renovated but not all. You will have to share the pool if there is a party booked which is fine but the game room is not always available if it is rented for a private party. The arcade was not very good either. Didn't make it to breakfast so i cannot comment on that. We chose this over embassy because of the amenities for the children but were disappointed.
- 5/5
Love the amenities for the family after a long road trip this was a pleasant stop ! Will be back for sure
- 1/5
It was so bad that my wife and I decided to stay in the room and leave early. There was nothing we liked at all!
- 2/5
They were having an event in the atrium (common area) with an extra fee to enter. They also had the pool area and adjoining seating area closed for a private birthday party. There was no parking, the place was loud and packed with people. We booked this hotel so that our group (4 rooms) would have a place to sit and visit in the evening. We couldn't use any of the common areas which should have been available to guests other than the private events. Also, 1 elevator was not working. The code to our room didn't work - they re-keyed it twice and it still didn't work. They ended up giving us the master code to enter our room (good thing we're honest since we probably could've used that to enter any room). Outlets in the room didn't work and the TV didn't work. Overall, very dissatisfied with our stay.
- 1/5
Way too loud, vending machines didnt work, we woke up super congested and feeling sick. The beds were nice, parking sucks.
- 5/5
I liked everything it had to offer.
- 1/5
It was probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Everything was out of order. I booked the most expensive room and didn’t even get a breakfast. Room was so dirty it had pubic hair on the floor. Long clumps of hair in the shower. Couldn’t touch a surface that wasn’t greasy or slimy. I had one tiny trash can in a two bedroom suite. The list goes on and on.

Travelling solo with a toddler... I could not have picked a better place for me to unwind for the night while my boy played. Breakfast was our highlight. The woman who ran the breakfast counter gave my little guy quarters to use the fish food gumball machine and feed the koi!

Needs a ton of repair. Carpets are in very bad condition. The rooms needed painted & the doors seemed very flimsy. Breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
Everything and everyone were amazing! Great place for families with kids!
- 4/5
Internet sucked and only hot breakfast you had to pay for
- 2/5
Broken blinds, no curtains, stale throw up smell, arcade games do not work, and staff WARNED us NOT to “trust” the breakfast so that was not promising. Play area seating broken and super humid inside.
- 4/5
The fresh cookies at check was a nice perk. The room was nice but a lot of kids running around until 9:15 pm or so. Would stay again but sort of noisy until later in the evening
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Staff were great. The restaurant was fun. The inside was kitschy cute.
- 1/5
Very run down. Loud pool. Barking dogs. Door handle fell off when I walked in. Tub was broken. It was bad.
- 5/5
Good price for nice place
- 5/5
This place was well beyond our expectations. Makenzie at the desk made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
- 5/5
Always a great place to stay shop eat etc
- 5/5
Older building but has a ton of character! Staff is very nice and helpful as well! All of my linens and towels were clean and stain free. The place is kept clean. I think they are trying to fix it up so it’s not perfect, but I’m willing to look past that for the great pricing, Also nice to have a good restaurant and bar available after 4pm!
- 3/5
This property needs an upgrade
- 5/5
Always a great experience staying here
- 4/5
If you like cold breakfast, its included, but, if you want hot food, be prepared to pay. Hotel not clearly marked from the club/restaurant. Room was great, place was unexpected.
- 5/5
The waffles and other breakfast items were very good and the ability to order other things was so good. The prices where great and tasted even better.
- 4/5
Staff were great, breakfast was delicious. The bathroom had no ventilation, which caused moisture to build up. There was mold on the ceiling
- 3/5
To clutter lighting was terrible
- 4/5
I was Pleasantly surprised that the mattress was more comfortable than most hotels and I didn’t have to reassemble my skeleton in the morning. A heated indoor pool is nice but it did make the whole area feel muggy. While the free breakfast was all carbs, you could order eggs, bacon, sausage for a somewhat reasonable price. We would stay again.
- 1/5
The place was disgusting. Straight up. We paid in advance (through Expedia)and didn’t even stay one night. We left and went to the Marriott, which was lovely. DO NOT reserve this dump
- 4/5
We stayed in 2 different rooms one was blah. Like an old motel 6 room. The 2nd room was AMAZING!!!Clean bright, new, roomy beautiful.. Bottom floor right side if coming from front desk!
- 5/5
Staff an owner was very accomodsting and hospitable. It is a unique placeto stay..if you are travelling wirh young ones, this is the hotel.indoor playground and pool..arcade and fish pond and fountain inside...rooms were very clean and spacious.
- 5/5

- 3/5
Staff were helpful and responsive. They seemed like they genuinely cared. The amenities were fun and provided entertainment for the kids. Nice pool and playground. The bad: The hotel itself looks like they remodeled an old hotel and rushed the process to get it done fast. Our shower head and tub faucet were disconnecting from the wall, leading to water spraying out of the neck during the shower. The electric outlets also looked to be halfway adhered to the wall. Unsafe for young children. The continental breakfast was cereal, waffles, and pastries. You had to pay extra for bacon/sausage/eggs.
- 5/5
Great breakfast... there for-pay full hot breakfast offered as well as the free complimentary items. Everyone was friendly snd courteous. My room was excellent. Really enjoyed my stay...5 stars....
- 3/5
Very outdated rooms. Tile falling off shower walls. Holes in walls. Wrinkled carpet not very clean. Pillows were awful.
- 5/5
A nice stay. I would stay there again if I was visiting Amarillo.
- 4/5
The bathtub didnt hold water so could give the kids a bath had to give shower and try not to get her hair wet. Didn’t know about hot tub.
- 4/5
Comfy beds, clean space, nice facilities although we had to switch rooms because of maintenance issues Having to switch rooms, and the price. We were going to book again but the price is to high and the rooms offered are not preferable
- 4/5
Having to switch rooms, and the price. We were going to book again but the price is to high and the rooms offered are not preferable
- 4/5
The property on the outside was not kept. Enjoyed the bar and live music
- 4/5
Very nice place on the inside
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and there is a restaurant and bar attached, which is very convenient with good food. We enjoyed watching live music and people dancing on a beautiful huge dance floor. The rooms were clean and large, and the pool area was well kept.
- 5/5
Brittney was so helpful at check in. I did not get the room I reserved and she fixed it up for us.
- 5/5
Didn't use
- 3/5
We stayed for four days the room looked nice when we walked in but was we wrong.. The bed was hard and it kept rolling away from the wall the outlets were very loose the shower head was broken had no one clean the room had to throw are own trash and put trash bags back in trash cans the coffee pot was not cleaned out from the last person who used it no one told us what time breakfast was either
- 5/5
Such a great spot even if you live in the area! Stay cation! It felt fun and cozy and the staff was great!
- 3/5
The stay was fine but kids were screaming all day and night
- 5/5
Un hotel muy bonito
- 5/5
This was one of our favorite stops on our trip. Great restaurant, friendly staff, clean rooms and good entertainment.
- 1/5
The room we got on the 3rd floor was disgusting. There was black mold growing in the bathroom all over the shower. There was cobwebs all over the room showing its not being cleaned right. Sticky spots all over the cabinet. The blinds were covered in a thick dust. Then when speaking with the front desk they told us to have hotels contact them for a partial refund and after doing so the hotel denied the refund.
- 5/5
The staff was very accommodating!!! An older place. But I enjoyed it!
- 5/5
Fun place to stay! We enjoyed
- 2/5
Continental breakfast was only cold items or waffle, no cleaning during the day, had to get our own clean towels at front desk, cabinet drawers in room would not stay closed, bathroom needed updating, blinds covering door broken
- 5/5
The room was very clean. Loved that a restaurant was attached and had live music. Would stay there again.
- 4/5

- 3/5
Place was under renovation we believe. Strong musty and chemical smell in common area that permeated the building. Room was clean and quiet. Continental breakfast was good.
- 4/5
All was good but the toilets dint flush well
- 5/5
Good breakfast, helpful staff
- 4/5
Parking was a bit tight, but after circling for a few minutes, I was able to find a spot.
- 4/5
This hotel seems to be experiencing lots of renovations. The outside isn’t very appealing but the inside amenities are great. If I was traveling with a large group I would absolutely stay here again. Lots of room to socialize and hang out in the atrium and pool area. Beds are comfortable but the doors are covered with black out curtains and our window faced the parking lot so the room was very dark. Overall a decent place to stay with an attached restaurant.
- 5/5
- 3/5
The rooms were dated but clean common area was ran down and dirty but the place was packed and everyone was having fun
- 5/5

- 3/5
In all honesty it was okay, the hotel was nice but with indoor pool (that’s not in closed) the humidity inside room and in the hotel is crazy the carpet just feels wet even though it’s not and it say breakfast included but that’s only waffles, cereal and juice everything else you gotta pay for not expensive but not included. Overall it was 2.5 out of 5
- 1/5
I checked in 12.20 AM night & checked out 7.45 AM in morning because room was smelly & dirty . So over all BIG ZEROOOOOOOOOOO
- 5/5
Great place everyone very friendly, clean big room
- 3/5
For the most part we had a decent experience even with my complaints, but unfortunately we will not be staying again
- 3/5
The restaurant and bar were great; the atmosphere was unique. However, the hotel was muggy and smelled musky. While the review stated it was updated, our room was not. It had partially sheer curtains, a popcorn ceiling that was coming off, and a toilet that moved every time it was used. The bed was okay but overall the room needs a good cleaning, some fresh paint, and the electric plugs fixed on the nightstand lights. Made it work for the short trip but was disappointed.
- 4/5
The room was very nice and comfortable. The pool was heated. One of the elevators was not in service and couldn't make the microwave work. It wouldn't heat. Breakfast was confusing, so we didn't get anything but coffee.

Restraunt, rooms, and lobby are very nice. Very fair price for everything that came with the room.
- 5/5
Room needed a remodel, lots of patches on walls and ceilings. Sink counter was cracked.
- 5/5
Very nice room
- 5/5
This place was an awesome surprise and nod to Americana! Was looking for something different while visiting for business and happened across it. Digital check in and super simple. Has lots of options for activities… arcade/pool/putting green/etc. also has a restaurant and bar that is attached that features live music and cold drinks. Will definitely be staying here again!
- 1/5
Bathroom door following off the hinges, bathtub stained, toilet seat rough and worn, chipped. Hotel carpet loose and dark lighting. Elevator not working making a long walk with luggage. Awful
- 5/5
Everything was nice, definitely will recommend to family and friends
- 1/5
Building is falling apart. Pool was so murky couldn’t see the bottom.
- 5/5
Rooms and Staff are excellent~ I understood that renovations were taking place so no hot water for 2 days and the television not working for 3 days was understandable and acceptable. Really enjoyed my stay and the restaurant on-site is one of the best I’ve been to in recent times. Highly recommend the John Wayne (but bring a friend) the wedge salad was clean fresh and crisp (as it should be) the steak tips were AMAZING! Staff there was well were above and beyond with professionalism and friendliness~ I will be back and I will recommend! There are homeless in the area however with reserved parking up front I felt my vehicle was safe.
- 5/5
Yes everything was great
- 5/5
Super cool place, fabulous vibes. A little funky, but super-reasonably priced and very fun.
- 3/5
Needs some work and updates! Restaurant was excellent!

Breakfast great, aminities great, nice evening dancing, very nice stay will be back thank
- 4/5
Awesome place, with lots to do and see. Only thing I would change is to get rid of the double beds and update to queen size.
- 5/5
Loved it , have stayed before and will definitely stay again
- 5/5
I love everything
- 5/5
Love that they have stuff to keep the kids happy and busy will definitely stop in again
- 1.5/5
The indoor activities for children. The front desk clerks. We had 3 adults and 4 children (3 of the children are disabled), booked 2 rooms and requested them to be near the pool entrance. They gave us rooms on separate floors about as far from the entrance and pool gate as possible. Went to leave the hotel on the 2nd day only to find that 2 vehicles were parked behind ours. An employee came out and told us that it is wash room employees blocking us in because we parked in front of the wash room and that's employee ONLY parking. Either put up signs stating it is employee ONLY parking or don't be rude about customers parking there! Says queen size beds, was full size instead. Bathroom knob was barely on. Fridge has no control knob and is slightly cooler then room temp. Went out a door to carry out trash because apparently if you book more than one night, you have to request maid service, and an employee watched me walk out the door to the dumpster then locked the door behind me. One of the beds was severely sagging to the center.
- 5/5
This hotel was so cool! So much to do and look at. We loved the restaurant connected as well. Arcade was closed the entire time we were there which was a bummer but looked like claw machines and air hockey. Would 100% recommend for families!
- 3/5
The property is in need if some repairs. One of the elevators was still not working from when we had been there in December. Since we were on the 3rd floor this time the inconvenience was noticed. This time the breakfast nook had more waffle makers. I am not a fan if those waffles but the hit breakfast is an extra charge. Kids and families would enjoy the pool. Rooms are adequate. For the price, I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Clean room and very family friendly oriented
- 0.5/5
Way too noisy. And the annoying house music was loud and never ending. Hardly got any sleep. Also there’s only one working elevator. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough this morning. Thankfully we only stayed one night and will not be returning ever.
- 1/5
The room next to me had a loud tv all night you could hear out in the hallway and through my wall The desk lady didn’t give a crap about it and wouldn’t even go knock on the door or call the people. Then I asked to be moved to another room and she said no. There weren’t even 10 cars at the whole hotel and she said she couldn’t move me. The next morning I thought maybe they’d refund my room but no. Just sorry is all I got from the same gal. This place is terrible customer service and don’t care about a quiet good night sleep
- 4/5
Room was clean but tired. Certainly worth the price
- 5/5
My husband and I have stayed here multiple times and we love it every visit!
- 3/5
The room was nice and clean and had good amenities (fridge, microwave, Keurig). We were a little disappointed with the front desk. We found most of the hotel amenities/activities, but when my kids tried to play in the arcade... Only 2 out of about 15 games were working and the ATM machine was out of money, so you had to bring your own cash. Also, the big game room with pool table and darts was locked and when they asked to have it unlocked, the front desk clerk seemed to be put out. We ordered room service from the steakhouse restaurant. The food was really good and the staff was super friendly, but it was very difficult to eat because it was all in small plastic containers. The free continental breakfast was pretty good and they also have a chef who makes breakfast for a small fee.
- 5/5
I love this place always so amazing
- 1/5
The room was dirty & did not match the photos on Expedia. The front desk staff was very rude, ignored us & told us to look at our phone for an e check in. We didn’t receive a text with a room number but they were very resistant to helping us. When we checked out the women at the front desk looked at us and walked away to the back room, didn’t even acknowledge us.
- 3/5
Front desk staff was very unprofessional and lazy. They would not get out of their seats to accommodate needed linings for the room.
- 2/5
Room and property was nt as advertised on your website
- 1/5
We booked the honeymoon suite and ended up in a room that didn't even look like the room we booked and the room we stayed in was incomplete
- 5/5
Everything was great except the breakfast is very limited and the pool closes early at 9
- 5/5
Great hotel. Cool vibe!
- 3/5
The blinds at my door where everyone walks past you can see through/into the room There’s just a big lack of privacy in the room I was some curtains would easily fix that Also I didn’t really like that if I wanted eggs or bacon I had to pay for it
- 5/5
Good
- 2/5
Room had black mold, place smelled funky, under the sheets the bed and pillows had stains, the shower water had a leak through the floors, & the breakfast was pure sugar. If you wanted real savory food like eggs, it’s 7$ extra. And the poor fish in the fountain have tumors and you can tell they barely feed them. Not bad for a 2 star hotel though, the middle part of the whole building is nice. Rooms look nothing like they do online I’ll say that for sure
- 5/5
Do fun for kids!
- 4/5
Loud music early in am

- 5/5
This place is our go to anytime we stay in Amarillo! We can always count on clean, room super friendly staff and plenty to do without having to leave the hotel. This is always a place we recommend to anyone to stay.
- 5/5
Amazing stay. Clean and quiet
- 3/5
They charged me for extra things
- 5/5
I’ve done a review…. Please stop sending me this!!!!
- 5/5
I love this hotel. It's the best hotel I've ever been to. The staff is especially amazing.
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable, beautiful atrium and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Great service and children friendly. Definitely a great family hotel!
- 5/5
I like the employees very nice, the play ground my daughter like I a lot, the pool very nice and everything around was clean The breakfast was to simple and dry
- 4/5
The room was clean, but dated. The carpet in the hotel in the hallway to the rooms was super loose and a potential slip hazard.
- 4/5
Unfortunately, several areas of the hotel were in need of repair: one of two elevators was down; many tiles throughout the hotel or guest rooms were cracked, loose carpets in hallways were a tripping hazard and the bottom of our bedroom door looked chewed up. The oversized shower heads had almost too much water pressure for comfort and seemed to waste a lot of precious water. I was standing 2" deep in water before my shower was complete. With a good marketing director and more attention to repairs, this could be a very lovely property, as it had lots of potential.
- 2/5
Staff are very kind & friendly…it’s the facility, NOT GOOD! Huge safety concerns with loose carpet, some kind of black discoloration in the ice machine, room did not feel clean. There’s a lovely lobby entrance & gift shop, but the hotel needs major renovation, we will not stay there again!
- 3/5
The hallway carpet has 2-3" high ripples where it has stretched or otherwise worn out. Their included breakfast was extremely limited because they also have a cook to prepare decent food at extra cost. Now that I'm familiar with this place, i would lower my expectations and stay there again.
- 5/5
The hotel was amazing, loved the scenery and the peace you feel once stepping in. The room was spotless and the bed was perfect to rest after such a long trip
- 2/5
The staff are very friendly but the hotel needs a MAJOR update…so many safety concerns such as loose carpet, poor handrails, black mold in the ice machine. Big need for painting. The lobby & gift shop are great but the rest of the facility is NOT good, we won’t return.
- 4/5
Also convenient for anyone wanting to stop and stay put - great restaurant, nice pool and lounge areas, playground - everything you need in one place. Communication was excellent. Check in was a breeze. They’re doing a lot to try and update and add nice touches to the environment. We’ll definitely come stay again!
- 4/5
The playground and pool area for the kids is great. The rooms however are lacking. There have been a lot of improvements from previous owners, but the rooms are still dingy. The desk chair looks to have been chewed by a dog, there is a LOT of places where paint need more than just a touch up, doors, walls etc and it makes the place look unkept. The shower faucet was not attached to the wall flat, the mini fridge was dirty and the room smelt musty. The beds? You'd been better off sleeping on the floor. Very hard, and appeared cheap. The breakfast is the usual continental and was ok but the dining area the morning of had the same mess that was there the previous night. Fun place for the kiddos, terrible rest for the parents.
- 5/5
The people are friendly, staff is awesome, room are super clean and unique
- 4/5
Good hotel.
- 5/5
The indoor pool is beautiful! The atrium is beautiful!
- 5/5
Easy check in, love that you use a code for the door, very nice setting
- 3/5
Good for the price. Mattresses are stiff and very uncomfortable. Very clean and spacious rooms. Ideal for working crews, but not vacations.
- 5/5
Room was great just the tub leaked a little nothing major staff was awesome hotel was great I will be returning for another vacation
- 5/5
Everytime I stay with my daughters they treat us beyond exceptional! Always be the only place in Amarillo I’ll stay with the family when we visit!!!
- 5/5
Loved it there! The indoor pool was nice, the resturant/bar was great and for a place we couldn't leave during the storm - there was a ton to do there!
- 4/5
- 5/5
The beds were nice
- 5/5
Everything was excellent, great hospitality
- 1/5
Unfortunately the whole building smelled horrible. Food was not good. Will not be recommending this hotel.
- 3/5
The room conditions were disappointing and did not meet expectations. However, I do want to be fair and say that the breakfast was good, and the areas outside the room were nice and clean. The common areas looked well maintained. Overall, while there were some positive things, the condition of the room and the lack of a solution after reporting it really affected my stay. I hope management takes this seriously and improves the room quality and guest service.
- 5/5
Entire staff was awesome ...had the pleasure of meeting the owner ...I felt like a family member... As was all that I noticed around the facility
- 5/5
The bed was so comfy and it was quiet at night. It was just what I needed!
- 5/5
Good over all stay bed comfy only draw back was the shower head was a foot lower than I was
- 2/5
Property difficult to find, terrible signage and conflicting directions. Hotel looks like it is part of an apartment building with dirty floors, broken elevator, and horrible layout. Loud, horrible country karaoke till well past 11pm on a Sunday. Door lock broken—we had to prop a chair in front of the door while sleeping. Parking was sketchy and no pet relief area.
- 5/5
We drive a truck nationwide and were here over the weekend waiting on repairs. The owner, Matt, upgraded our room to make our unexpected stay a lot better. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend! Staff was excellent
- 5/5
Good location
- 5/5
Clean and good location
- 5/5
Super family friendly, affordable, cute place to stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. My kids had a blast and we will definitely be back!
- 2.5/5
Hard to find no sign on the outside that ID the hotel. We had to change rooms three times before we found one that did not have mold or other issues, Other than these the stay was OK, they did work with us.
- 0.5/5
Everything about this place was deceiving, it looking NOTHING like the pictures on the website. Staff was very unhelpful and uninterested in making this stay even the slightest bit better. Room was OLD and OUTDATED, nothing like the pictures advertised even for the “basic room”. Location was sketchy and rough. Breakfast was poor. You have to pay extra for eggs and stuff so not a continental breakfast. You only get waffles or toast if you don’t want to pay. Juices were always out and so were the jellies/butter and anything else you wanted to put on your 2 free choices. Way over priced for crap quality. Very unhappy. Writing this twice so you know exactly how I feel. Everything about this place was deceiving, it looking NOTHING like the pictures on the website. The staff was accommodating when we mentioned that the room we were given had a very unpleasant odor, it honestly smelled quite bad, almost like something had gone bad in the room. They moved us to a different room, which was an improvement, but unfortunately, it still had a noticeable odor and it was dirty. The cleanliness of the hotel left a lot to be desired. Our first room had a strong odor, similar to wet dog and trash, that's the best way I can describe it. After requesting a room change, we were moved to a second room, but unfortunately, it wasn’t much better. We noticed hair in the bathroom from previous guests, the walls were dirty, and the green velvet sofa had visible stains. Overall, the hotel looked and smelled unclean. The carpet throughout the property was stained, worn out, and coming loose in several areas, which made it difficult to roll our luggage smoothly. The one redeeming quality of the hotel was the staff, they were kind and helpful throughout our stay.
- 1.5/5
Location and room size. Every surface was either scratched broken and neglected. Must have been a nice property many years ago. Looked dirty.
- 5/5
This place is awesome games, mini mini golf, food and drinks, movies its nostalgia central and the rooms are very clean and nice the sheets are sooooo soft. 10/10 recommended staying here.
- 4/5
Nice atmosphere they have a restaurant on site with very reasonable pricing. The 1st room we were given is subpar at best so they upgraded us to a recent remodeled room. Hotel is upgrading there rooms and more. If you have kids that play Pickle Ball or swim etc.. They have all of this available. Overall pricing was very reasonable. Breakfast is like no other small hotel offers if you want more you have to pay for it.
- 4/5
My toddler loved the playground. It was great to get out energy when it was cold outside. The restaurant attached had good food and even offered to bring it to the room. It’s nice that it’s pet friendly too. My only issue was having the large window/door with curtains that went to the interior of the hotel. It was a feat trying to keep the toddler from opening them constantly showcasing the entire room to everyone walking past outside.
- 4/5
Very clean. Good value
- 5/5
Remodel is very refreshing
- 4/5
Everything was ok, there are things that need repaired and updated, carpet on first floor is wrinkled, toilet in lobby restroom is wobbly. The shower plumbing in our room needs repaired. Room was clean. Restaurant was very good.
- 5/5
If we are in the area again we will definitely be repeat customers.
- 5/5
You have to pay for the breakfast

Clean rooms, great play areas and friendly staff
- 5/5
Rooms are great, hotel staff are friendly and I love the play areas (pool, mini golf, game room, tv area, kids playground and food kitchen. Great place to stay
- 5/5
Parking was easy and open. It was gorgeous. Would definitely bring family back. Just stopped for one night along a long trip. Only downfall was my shower didn’t get hot.
- 4/5
Everything was great overall, our beds were a little wonky one super stiff and the other not one other room thing was that the shower ceiling was recently cut open and replaced but not with the same type of ceiling so it was a little weird but the only other thing was the parking with the bar made for no parking for the people staying. The whole place was really cool, awesome to see it getting renovated from how it was when I was a kid. All of the different activities make it such a cool hotel
- 3/5
Sausage very greasy. Parking didn’t feel very secure.
- 3/5
The rooms need more upkeep.
- 5/5
Great establishment, with the exception of pool and other activities closing at 9pm. That’s way too early on a weekend. My kids had a great time.
- 3/5
Room was only slightly updated, had a leaking tub faucet that you could hear all night.
- 5/5
Inside atrium is amazing!
- 4/5
We booked this property because of the reviews of the indoor pool and play area. The pool was amazing, nice and warm. My granddaughter loved the play area as well. The room we were in was a little run down but still nice. We were on the side with the highway so it was a little noisy. Would definitely stay here again, I bet my granddaughter will request it.
- 4/5
Staff was great, room was okay
- 5/5
Very nice staff…rooms need updated, ie: paint chipping, shades bent, very dated. Could b have small grassed area for dogs but very much appreciate no extra fees. Breakfast was fine. Appreciated the restaurant.
- 4/5
Great staff and showers
- 1/5
Do NOT book this hotel. We booked three rooms traveling back from Colorado. The pictures posted are very misleading. The entertainment section is fine but the rooms are a nightmare. Holes in the walls, blinds covering the whole glass front entryway or torn, the door would hardly lock, the bed looked dirty, the lampshade had rips in it. We felt unsafe to stay here, so ended up, leaving and going to a better hotel even at the expense of losing our money. The rooms feel like something out of a horror film. Save your money and go somewhere else. There’s plenty of hotels in Amarillo that are budget friendly.
- 5/5
This is the best little family spot. We loved it!
- 5/5
Cozy, homey, friendly, highly recommended
- 5/5
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and the place is absolutely beautiful. Only complaint was the shower water got cold pretty quickly.
- 1/5
The room felt neglected- the hotel is nothing like the photos on the website. The staff was nice but the room was not in good condition. Old, musty, scratches on the doors, the latch didn't work well, bed was uncomfortable, and the carpet in the atrium is peeling up.
- 4/5
Staff is amazing as always! This stay I booked a “Deluxe Double” I paid extra but the room was exactly the same as a regular double. This stay we were on the side facing the highway and the road noise was insane! Love this place but will request a backside room for any future stays.
- 5/5
Great boutique motel with local flavor and character!
- 5/5
The suite was clean, large and spacious. A great value for a night's stay!
- 1/5
This hotel was the worst on our road trip. From the dingy rooms to the noise all night it was such an uncomfortable stay. If you’re looking to get any sleep, avoid this place at all costs.

Rooms are being renovated and they dont tell you the photos are from rooms already renovated. Room we got was not had a smell to it also shower kept going from hot to cold every 15 secs. Nice staff good location. We booked because it looked nice that wasn't the case.
- 2/5
The room did not look like in the picture. But the bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
The staff did not know where the rooms were located and were not helpful. The room only had one trash can in the bathroom which is inconvenient. Otherwise, it has all the things a hotel room should have. Pull out couch, bed, shower, toilet, did not have a separate door as the photos showed. Could have better lighting. The TVs are great though and the floors are nice. It does have a fridge and air fyer and induction as well as a microwave and coffee maker so thats cool. Just check in was horrible. We spent 15 min going around the entire property looking for our room
- 4/5
Hotel also had cool places to sit/take pictures.
- 5/5
Great place!
- 3/5
Definitely unique. Had an issue but the hotel took care of it. Staff is nice
- 1/5
Too afraid for our life! Because our relative was 2 hours ahead of us we booked the room under his name and he sent us pics after checking in. Ridiculous!!! I cannot imagine how they got on Expedia! Just so yall know we checked all comments concerning this property so we were totally shocked to see the pics we received from him. We told him to take him, his wife and 2 kids and get the hell out of there. My daughter booked them a room in another hotel and we all drove straight home which was a total of 12 hours but hey we did not have to be scared for our lives!
- 5/5
Comfy beds, warm indoor pool, spacious room, good tv channels
- 3/5
Now… let’s talk about expectations vs. reality. You’ll see the photos online and think, “Oh wow, this looks cool! Family-friendly! Fun vibes!” And honestly, the idea of this place is great. The execution, however, not so much. Our room told a story. The shower head was slowly attempting to escape the wall, held in place by what appeared to be a very optimistic amount of caulk. One of the walls had soft spots near the bottom which often indicates damage has entered the chat. I didn’t see visible mold, but let’s just say my instincts were on high alert. The bathtub also looked rough, like it had been through one too many rushed renovations. The sheets were clean (always appreciated). I did a bed bug check and happy to report none were found. However, there were multiple small brown splatter-looking spots on the walls that weree concerning and definitely not cleaned recently. The hotel clearly is trying to be funky and semi upscbut it feels like someone tried to renovate in a hurry and said, “Eh, close enough.” What said I have to give credit where The it's due: 1. Indoor pool 2.The kids’ indoor play area is actually well built and clean 3. The restaurant attached to the hotel was very nice and the food was good (though it felt a bit pricey considering the hotel it’s attached Breakfast is advertised as included, but it’s important to know what that actually means.
- 5/5
Healthy Breakfast Provided, With secure & easy parking
- 3/5
The main selling point of this hotel is its pretty unusual interior (lobby, atrium) design and ambiance. Not your typical hotel. For families with little kids there is a nice indoor pool and some indoor playgrounds. Breakfast was pretty poor. Coffee, which is claimed to be (and sold under the brand of) Starbucks is anything but: the taste is probably the worst I have tried in a while (could not go beyond one sip -- dumped the rest). Definitely not Starbucks and not even your regular "average joe" coffee either -- much worse than that. And for food -- just cereal and waffles.
- 5/5
Place is nice, festive and updated. Fun place for kids. The beds are hard and showers aren't hot. But we've stayed several times. The price can't be beat
- 1/5
Dirty
- 4/5
I did not eat breakfast
- 3/5
The room was in good condition. Honestly the staff checking me in seemed annoyed
- 5/5
.
- 3/5
Just okay
- 4/5
Maintenance had to come to our room to fix a problem with the microwave and they came quickly and were efficient. Amenities would be great for a family with kids: pool, mini putt, slides, play area, etc. Breakfast was more than I expected with hot food options.
- 5/5
Staff is always FANTASTIC!!! Everyone is so friendly and so helpful! Room is comfy and has the best pillows on the bed!
- 4/5
Ease of check in
- 3/5
The room was clean but did show signs of age/wear. Was fairly quiet there. Had to be cautious in the bathroom because the toilet was not bolted to the floor and felt very unstable.
- 2/5
The room is old, stuffy, with a bad odor.
- 5/5
All the above. My third night staying here. Hadn’t planned to be on Christmas. I made the most of it. And the staff were the best part.
- 3/5
Ok hotel. We stayed for onw night. Breakfast was ok. Properly looks clean but very old needs maintenance.
- 5/5
Yes. Everyone was Great!! My family Enjoyed every attraction available
- 5/5
It is a great place to stay. Say there often
- 5/5
Staff was welcoming and helpful! Love the vibe here!
- 5/5
Clean room. Kind and helpful staff, amenities and I looked the spacious Deluxe room. I feel very comfortable here.
- 4/5
Staff was super nice, room was clean. Bed was a little on the firm side, which I prefer. Owner is doing a great job with renovations, our room was renovated and was in great condition. A/C was super cold and there was a fridge, microwave, and Keurig. Courtyard area looked to be a fun hangout area. We ate at the attached restaurant, ordered the pickle pizza and it was the best we’ve had out of other places that serve it.
- 5/5
Kindnesses of check in staff
- 5/5
Fast and courteous check in. Amenities and room are great
- 5/5
The rooms were spacious and clean, the whole central part of the hotel was incredible and my daughter loved it! The most family friendly place weve been
- 5/5
Room was clean and amenities good breakfast friendly staff
- 5/5
Super comfy beds with very nice suites clean and spacious. Great climate control keeps the room comfortable. Restaurant downstairs has great options steak was great and front desk keeps fresh hot cookies ready for guests. I look forward to staying here again soon.
- 5/5
I loved how it was so family friendly and the rooms are beautiful
- 2/5
The room was very run down. The air conditioner didn’t cool the room. A pet had chewed on the bathroom door. The carpets in the hallway were uneven and torn. Almost no water pressure.
- 3/5
Water damage.
- 2/5
There were roaches in my bathroom. It was way too expensive to still have dirty floor boards. The carpet in the wall ways wasn’t tacked down so it bunched up and is a trip hazard. Breakfast both mornings you had to ask for refills on waffle mix and syrup. You could tell the staff is only interested in collecting a check. When we spoke with the manager and showed her the video of the roaches she was unimpressed and unconcerned.

- 5/5
Comfy and affordable 👍
- 5/5
Great room!
- 5/5
The helpful staff that alowed a very late check-in.Thank you made the stay very comfortable.

Bed bugs
- 4/5
I only stay for a night but if I need so, I will stay on my next trip.
- 5/5
Very accommodating. The children loved it.
- 3/5
The rooms are not soundproof as stated the breakfast is not free as stated for anything cooked.Room was not the in the best condition, or cleanest . Overall i was very disappointed the photos on the website do not reflect the room you get and , they seem to be remodeling. To be fair we didn't get there for. Check in till 8pm but still i was expecting better .
- 4/5
Wonderful staff!
- 5/5
Cost, spacious, clean well appointed room. Staff was wonderful. The bar and restaurant were great. This was a quick business trip but this is a super family-friendly place.
- 4/5
It was very nice! Only issue is the privacy of the room, the room was clean and looked very pretty!! The lobby was also well decorated and the fountain with fishes was lovely! I would definitely re visit!
- 2/5
Room was definitely neglected. The carpet in the walkway is a trip hazard all bunched in the middle. The door would open on its own without the code being entered. It was clean room just you could tell they recently updated but choose not to update certain things
- 5/5
The staff was extremely courteous. The restaurant was excellent. The room was somewhat rundown, but quite adequate clean and quiet.
- 4/5
The look. It’s very nice. Not just plain Jane like other hotels. The pool closes at 9. They just shut the lights off while we were still in the pool before 9pm. There were young children in the pool with no adult watching them.
- 5/5
The rooms were clean! The staff was super kind and helpful, the restaurant and bar were amazing, the band that night was awesome!
- 5/5
The Cactus Cove was the best stay I had during my trip. The room was nice and clear, with good utilities. Outside the room, there was nice bar and featured interior. The environment was quiet, peaced my mind and spirit which was tired due to the trip. Recommended!
- 5/5
Convenient parking for me is a chore with a bigger truck. Staff is always accommodating which I appreciate and while the hotel looks like it’s being remodeled it’s still very clean and comfortable but still a lil outdated.
- 3/5
Our room was nothing like the pictures, and was very outdated, worn and musty smelling. No breakfast option that we could see. The common areas had potential to be great but it didn't allow much privacy since our room had a large glass doors with blinds facing out into the atrium area. We only had one night so we stayed but until it is completely finished we won't return.
- 4/5
The staff was wonderful! Room and bathroom was clean
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean room, beautiful ambiance inside. Restaurant was also good
- 4/5
The staff was super friendly and welcoming! The only downside was the rooms themselves. The rooms showed age and are in need of renovating. My guess is that this is coming, because everything else is top notch! I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Great staff and neat concept
- 4/5
Basic , waffles coffee cereal , begals, juice , milk muffins , all decent . You could buy a breakfast meal (3) to choose from for like 6.99
- 3/5
The shower did not work.
- 3/5
The staff was very nice. The place was clean. Bed was ok. I won't stay here again, though, because of the noise level.
- 5/5
I absolutely love staying here the place is great the staff is super friendly and the rooms are so peaceful
- 2/5
Cut my foot on trim that came off between restroom door. Building was not secure. All doors to exits with key pads didn't work. Want my money back or i will never use Expedia again.
- 3/5
Like the location but the rooms are a bit outdated and I wished the rooms door lock didnt looked like it was forced open prior.
- 5/5
This is a fun place to stay. Different than your typical hotel. Great for families, with fun amenities like mini golf and a pool. Plus the restaurant attached to it has live music and dancing.
- 1/5
Sadly, it seems someone’s wonderful dream turned into a nightmare. The idea is great, but maintenance is SORELY lacking. Breakfast is just bread, bagels, waffles and cereal…no fruit, yogurt, etc. Beds and towels seem clean, but door and lampshades broken, shower gel empty, I’m out of space!
- 2.5/5
It looks nothing like the picture ! It is a good attempt at remodeling but it’s like putting a band aid on things that need to be addressed.
- 5/5
Convenient, cute, affordable and clean! We almost wished we arrived sooner to enjoy the live music going on when we arrived. Highly recommend this little spot!
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay at Cactus Cove. Check-in was easy and the staff was always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate. The only thing we didn’t like was that we were there 3 nights and never received housekeeping. We didn’t care about the bed being made or having fresh towels but it would have been nice to get some more soap and toilet paper. We were running low by the end of our stay. Overall, though, we very much enjoyed our stay and would stay again.
- 5/5
Very family friendly place to stay. Heated pool, kids play area and putting area, all in doors. Our room was clean and freshly remodeled.
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
My whole experience was wonderful thank you to everyone.
- 5/5
I absolutely love this place and staff. They are always so very helpful. Great with communication. It’s an older facility, but they are in the process of remodeling. so many things for the family to do without even leaving the hotel thank you all see you again soon.
- 2/5
The room we got look nothing Like the picture. When I was exiting the facility. I saw that other rooms did look like the picture. I got third floor. The third floor looks like a motel. The First floor looks exactly like the picture on the Internet. I have no idea why they gave me another room limited on food. You have to pay for the food on the continental breakfast. Didn’t mind that it’s just the quality of the room was bad.
- 5/5
The room was nice pretty spacious. We really loved the pool and all the activities in and around the hotel. The staff were friendly and very nice. It was just a very nice hotel. We’re very happy with it in the price was great.
- 2/5
1st let me say the steakhouse restaurant/bar that is attached was AMAZING. The food fresh and very tasty. Service also fantastic. The owner of this place needs to chat with the owner of the hotel. It looks like they are trying to remodel-if they do, it will be much better. My room, was on 2nd floor. 1 elevator was broke. The rooms face the atrium area, where the pool and recreation activities are. Very NOISY. The place needs major repairs and upgrades with painting and carpet. My room was clean, but carpet frayed, tiles broken and toilet wobbled. Shower worked great. Do not use a black lite you will regret it. The curtains covering the windows were shear. I could see people walk by. So great place if your into voyeurism!
- 2/5
The room sink had mold breakfast was not up lady working the station didnt even have spray for waffle not to stick overall the hotel had a good environment for kids
- 5/5
My nine-year-old says this is the best hotel we’ve ever been to.
- 5/5
This is by far the best place to ever stay ever anywhere however I only know about being in Amarillo great staff excellent rooms everything's 10 star
- 5/5
Lady at check in was very friendly.
- 5/5
Everything
- 3/5
USB charging in the room would also be helpful. The atrium is beautiful. It would be nice for all those plants to be dusted off a little bit. It would make it look so much sharper. On the plus side the room was clean and staff was very nice and the little whiskey bar they have in there is so cute. I would stay again, the decor and environment is so different but very pretty.
- 5/5
Super cute place — I would definitely stay again! I can tell they’re actively updating things, so I won’t go into any of that. The rooms were great, though they could use a little refreshing. The common spaces were amazing! I can’t believe how much this place offers. I’ll never stay anywhere else when traveling through Amarillo! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
- 2/5
The room pictures online do not match the actual rooms! Sticky carpet, a/c didn’t keep the room cool, the outlets had sticky residue in them and only a couple actually worked. Average continental breakfast with yogurt, cereal, waffles, etc. They do have a paid option ($6.99) but it’s basically what other hotels offer for free… powered eggs, bacon, biscuit and gravy, etc. I did like the contactless check in, it’s super convenient when you’re coming in late at night. There aren’t keypads on the top two floors so any random person could wander in and I’m not sure anyone would question them with most guests doing self check in.
- 5/5
Great indoor area for kids or people who get up very early. The free breakfast is very nice plus they have cooked options made to order that are very reasonably priced.
- 4/5
Everyt h ing but the exception of the continental breakfast is not completely free. Eggs, sausage, bacon, potoes, and biscut with gravy costs 6.99 for all of it. However the room was good size loved the gameroom, pool.
- 3/5
Definitely different. Was fairly clean until you look on the floor under the sink.
- 4/5
They really don’t have a dog walk area .
- 3/5
Compared to our first impression of the lobby/common areas, our room was rough. Outlets falling out of the wall, tons of ceiling patches, dirty carpet, and it was obvious the cleaning crew uses dirty rags to clean based on the smeared swipes across the mirror and microwave.
- 5/5
My family will stay here every time we're near Amirillo.
- 5/5
Amazing customer service from all staff, especially Sierra. The team at the bar and restaurant were attentive, and catfish was delicious. The room was clean and comfortable. The decor of the entire hotel inside and out was fun. Will stay here again when passing through Amarillo. We appreciate everyone’s bright demeanor.
- 5/5
This place was amazing. The playground was perfect for our children after a long drive, the heated pool was fun to play in, and the restaurant was delicious. Our family slept like rocks in the dark, comfy room too. We loved everything
- 1/5
Dirty bad towels, and bed sheets. Breakfast 2/10. It’s a weird place
- 4/5
Good value nice staff Decent room
- 4/5
Staff was amazing, hotel had a cool feel
- 5/5
Clean and affordable
- 5/5
Lovely place, would definitely recommend & will go back. Renovated rooms are nice, but still have old rooms not that great. Best part is you literally have everything there, you don’t even have to leave the hotel if you don’t feel like it.
- 3/5
Bare minimum amenties, under renovation during stay, smell from pool?, carpet in hallway needs replacing, continental breakfast was the worst I have ever had.
- 5/5
Amazing place. Super nice people.
- 5/5
Staff was very nice both days we were there. The water pressure was better than my house! Loved the breakfast. We will definitely be back.
- 5/5
It was ok. The bar was weird, but fun.
- 5/5
This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff. Great bar/restaurant on site.
- 2/5
My room was nothing as advertised and I did not even get a heads up. I was also not informed there was construction going on in the hotel. The site states there is a fitness center and there is not. ☹️
- 2/5
Rooms were shabby and loud. Have not received final receipt and it has been almost twelve hours since i left. Stairs looked like they were fallinf apart and the carpet on all floors was loose causing a tripping hazzard.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the stay
- 5/5
Staff was great with my late arrival, room was clean and had no complaints.
- 3/5
All of the charging outlets in the room were worn down and wouldn’t hold the plug. The bathroom is pretty old, but you get what you pay for.
- 5/5
Staff in front had attitude
- 5/5
Staff friendly, room clean, activities to do on location and the warm yummy fresh baked chocolate chip cookies
- 4/5
The price was great for our stay. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our kids loved feeding the fish! We did not utilize the pool or breakfast but will definitely return if we come to this area again. They do have areas they are working on upgrading, but this did not affect our stay at all.
- 5/5
Everyone was so sweet. This is our second time staying here. We will keep coming. Thank you so much
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Gorgeous room! I wish we had the same shower set up at home. Fabulous lobby and interior with indoor pool. Wonderful staff. We arrived quite late at night and couldn't find the lobby entrance, but the front desk lady came outside to direct me...fabulous!! Free breakfast set up was top shelf. In addition to the familiar cereals, yogurt, fruit, etc., they have a cooked to order breakfast bar. Best part is the pet friendly welcome. We saw lots of happy dogs with their families. I'd stay here any time.
- 3/5
There was no phone and the TV cable did not work at all.
- 1/5
Dirty
- 5/5
Clean room. Awesome staff. Easy check in
- 5/5
Staff is great here
- 5/5
- 5/5
Courteous staff lots to do with game room and dance floors and pool
- 4/5
Stayed here two different times a week apart each. Very cool place with a great atmosphere. Loved the bar/restaurant with live music, great food, and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and nice staff.
- 5/5
Staff was knowledgeable and courteous
- 3/5
There's about a 3'x2' area of grass for pets. Completely filled with dog feces. Room: 3 large panes of glass for the front. Kids running and yelling and at one point t knocking on the glass. There was a heavy smell of a cheap plug in air freshener. It was god awful. The area above the shower had been flooded and patched poorly fixed. The carpet... Definitely needs attention. No channel guide on my TV.
- 5/5
Made to order breakfast at a reasonable price.
- 5/5
- 3/5
I need my 100$ deposit back asap
- 5/5
Everything is perfect I mean perfect the checking into the place great customer service amazing service very clean love it nices ambiance great place to stay great restaurant and good music 🎶 I recommend this hotel for all of thoses are traveling
- 2/5
- 4/5
Like the bay doors
- 4/5
We have stayed here 3 times in the past few months. First two stays were wonderful. Room was great and clean and recently updated. Third time was absolutely awful. Room smelled like strong urine and there were holes in the ceiling and dead spiders in the bathroom. Then we could hear music from the bar well after midnight along with children running the halls and in the room above us.I know they are making improvements but this time it wasn't a pleasant stay.
- 5/5
My only complain was that the name was not the Cactus. The name on the building was different and that was misleading and caused a fight in the car.
- 5/5
Check in was easy, staff is very friendly and efficient. Hotel and rooms are nice. Having a bar/ restaurant on site is so convenient! Very much enjoyed my stay.
- 1/5
Finding the motel was very difficult as no signage for Cactus Cove. The check in staff were very nice and helpful but this place is awful! Carpet dirty and badly warped in hallway. There was a strange type lock and metal reinforcement on the door. The room was clean but furniture was chipped and badly place. I used the bath mat as a rug by the bed. Coming in the outside side door I wasn’t sure if it was the right place as it was covered with a sign for massage parlor. I most certainly wouldn’t have stayed here if I could have gotten a refund. I also didn’t receive my debit card back and didn’t realize till I was fueling my car next morning down the road. I called back and they said they didn’t have it. I had to cancel my card.
- 5/5
Didn't eat or drink
- 4/5
The community section was beautiful. But the room wasn't. The repairs to the walls and ceiling were rough and not painted. The repairs to the bathroom pipes left a dark splash of stains on the wall. A little paint would have done wonders. The lock on the door wasn't sturdy. The beauty and eclectic looks of the room were overshadowed by shoddy maintenance.
- 3/5
Very good
- 5/5
Had the suite absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Definitely will come again
- 5/5
I absolutely love this place ! I have stayed with this family owned business three times and I would not consider staying anywhere else in Amarillo. They are always so kind, courteous. efficient and willing to help you with anything you need. Not many businesses have fresh baked cookies on the counter for their guest. Highly recommend staying here.
- 5/5
The yellow slide was a hit!
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel with a wonderful staff.
- 4/5
They have made a lot of improvements.
- 5/5
The hotel is being renovated but the rooms were so spacious and comfortable we wish that we had stayed another night.
- 2/5
The room had very sheer curtains and we could see and hear people walking by all night and you could see into the room when the lights were on. The outlets by the bed did not work and there is no ventilation in the bathroom so everything in the room was moist. We laid on the bed and it was damp. It does look like the pictures but the pictures are deceiving. It looks like it used to be pretty bad and they just slapped a coat of paint on everything. I will say the restaraunt in there is very nice and we had a great time there!
- 3/5
We had two rooms - one had vinyl flooring the other had dark carpet. The one with dark carpet stunk! And the curtains wouldn’t stay shut on window. It’s an old place, but kept ok. Front desk was rude. Check in will go over your key code facing for everyone to see it… makes no sense to me cause there aren’t keys to get in room, but a code. So when you flash it and hold it in the air to show you your code and everyone standing around… makes you feel a little less secure.
- 5/5
I think this hotel is an old Courtyard Marriott. All the rooms look into the center of the hotel. You can tell the new owners are renovations and updating. My room was great. Carpet and tile was older but it will be replaced soon. I felt like the room was clean, safe and secure. For the price this was exceptional.
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 1/5
The hotel appeared to be under construction. The carpet in our room was damp, shower was missing tiles, wall paint was scratched up. At least the sheets were clean.
- 5/5
Loved the interior beautiful place
- 5/5
Beautiful surprise inside! Pool, fish dountain, putt putt golf, so big and fun inside.
- 2/5
The place is in need of major repairs and upgrades
- 1/5
Damp smell in the room. Old old furniture and sheets and pillows. Literally should be trashed.
- 4/5
Cactus Cove in Amarillo is definitely worth a stop. The Pickle Rick pizza was really good and the chicken sandwich hit the spot. They’re still in the middle of hotel renovations, but honestly that didn’t take away from the experience at all. The food carried the day and the vibe was solid. Excited to see the place once everything is fully finished.
- 2/5
Hotel room was not newly remodeled! The toilet rocked! The wallpaper was peeling down the wall! There were holes in paint on the door! Ugg! I don’t recommend this dive!
- 5/5
Room was a little dated, I believe we had non updated room but the price was fantastic. Lobby is amazing, service is incredible and breakfast was great.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Nice breakfast with option to upgrade affordable.
- 5/5
It was my birthday weekend I had a blast at the cactus cove is
- 5/5
Pet friendly and really fun and good stay
- 5/5
Clean room
- 4/5
We slept awesome
- 5/5
This cute boutique hotel was everything I read. Loved the amenities: indoor pool, indoor “courtyard,” putt putt golf, fountain. They had a complimentary continental breakfast, but found the paid hot options very affordable and tasty. It’s in a good location near everything.
- 5/5
Clean room pet friendly they are renovating. I was in the renovated area it was lovely.
- 5/5
Easy access off side road. Towels were dirty, but grateful to have a quiet affordable room to stop late at night. Worth it. Thank you.
- 4/5
Hotel is in process of renovation. Our room needed some repairs. It is pet friendly, but has no dedicated outside pet area. The staff at the desk was awesome. A little loud next to the freeway. All together not bad.
- 4/5
While this property seems to be trying to make improvements, there’s still a ways to go. The parking lots were clearly marked with signs saying to take all valuables and lock cars. And it seemed like good advice given the area. There is a nightclub onsite and the parking lots were full of garbage. The back half of the hotel is shuttered and partially demolished.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 1/5
This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. They had a dart tournament going on all night long. They informed me upon arrival that there would be a dart tournament, but they had never informed me that the PA system would be right outside of my room and that there would be no way I could sleep at all. This was an absolute joke and I am requesting a refund
- 1/5
All pics of rooms were not reflective of what they look like rooms were not updated smelt very musky and the air felt damp. Took a look at the breakfast area where they make the hit fiid you forks tell those machines had bare min cleaning. Dart tournament was not advertised but apparently after booking a non refundable room an email went out about it
- 2/5
Room smelled like a pet (dog) Walls had cracked/patched Sheetrock Shower handle covers torn from the wall Torn carpet Front door lock did not work Coffee pot did not work Lighting was terrible Beds were double not queen Shower water kept going hot and cold --Had dinner at the western horsemen restaurant (in-house) and bill was generated from newly printed menus, but customers order from the old menus and they didn't change the charges.
- 4/5
Nice unique hotel. Room was comfortable. With a little upgrading would be a super nice hotel. No comments on the continental breakfast as I didn't try the food.
- 5/5
Considering this use to be the Kiva we weren't going to get our hopes up but it was actually really nice. Rooms were clean and updated and the beds were comfortable. Will definitely stay again.
- 5/5
Room was clean and very spaces. Enjoyed having a restaurant attached to the hotel. After long day of traveling very convenient not having to get back in the car. Great service was a plus..
- 5/5
Every staff member we have encountered was helpful and friendly! We had fresh baked chocolate chip cookies on arrival. Our sweet lady at breakfast this morning was such a bright ray of sunshine (and I am not a morning person lol). The room smells AMAZING. We were blessed enough to get one of the completed rooms (they are currently renovating) and it is so spacious, cute, and comfortable! The breakfast is a mix of complementary and paid. There were enough complementary options (including fresh made waffles, bagels, and doughnuts) that we choose to stick with the continental, but the eggs and bacon smelled amazing, I will being trying it for our next stay! PS you have to try the salted carmel chocolate creamer, THAT was good coffee (creamer). All of the community use areas were clean and comfortable. I can not say enough good things. Thank you for hosting us and making such a happy and memorable experience.
- 5/5
The breakfast is not included not free
- 5/5
Drinks were wonderful the bar staff friendly even though we got there 15 min before it closed. Breakfast had a huge variety loved the kid friendly and privacy areas
- 5/5
The whole place was amazing! Friendly staff, very clean, nice amenities. Stayed there and love it so much, I came back 3 days later to stay again.
- 3/5
Hot breakfast was good! Sadly the property is trying to make a rebound and the price rejected that. Great bed!

Out side walk up stair to get to your level and then had to find a door to get in to the building with the rooms. Elevators broken. We had to leave as the listing did not mention the stairs outside to enter building and l have mobility issue.

Rooms were very rough. Staff is okay. Cleaning staff is incredibly loud. I think they play soccer with the trash cans in the hallway or something, the amount of noise was ridiculous. Oh and the. There is the live music playing all through the night. Don’t get me started.

The community elements such as pool and game area were nice but everything was blocked off or closed so we could not venture around.
