Motel 6 Amarillo, TX

Last minute find. Clean but noisy.

The rooms need renovating, especially the bathroom.

Room number one was not too bad. There was holes in the bathroom wall, but it didn't affect our sleeping. We rented two rooms and room number two was dirty. It had hair all in the bathroom sink and floor. There was a dog no two dogs barking next-door and we went and asked the clerk at the front to do something. They did nothing. We ended up letting the room go within an hour after check-in. I was told that they would credit our credit card for the $74.73. There has been nothing credited.

This hotel was a great value for us because we were traveling with 2 dogs and they stay free which is a huge savings over many other hotels. The room was very large and clean.

The corporate overlords that own the Motel 6 brand could give two poops about the actual accomodations. They collect the franchise fee and the franchise owners just let the properties languish. This place wasn't maintained well. The clientele was either street urchins, workers on per diem, or people like me looking for value on a place to sleep for a few hours. It's not the Motel 6 of old, and they ain't leaving the light on for you.

Lots of traffic stay here beware very loud and noisy. No microwave beds are rock hard.

I only have one issue.It was kind of loud possibility. because it was next to a truck stop. Otherwise it was good.

They had our rooms already assigned for us even though we had called and were several hours later to check in than we had expected.

The front desk clerk Chris was amazing, really polite and got my room ready fast. Add a workout room

Very Friendly, helpful staff; pet friendly facility. Clean, comfortable rooms; common areas and out on the property were clean and well maintained. No elevator for 2nd floor-but AI on the booking.com website said there was! No ice machine on 2nd floor. BUT, I liked that stairs were inside, wide and not steep.

The person at the desk was nice. Pretty much it. It was dirty. The people around the hotel just looked sketchy. The restroom was moldy. The AC didn’t feel like it was working. The beds are hard as a rock.

When we got there, the front desk lady said she had her friends there, maybe 3ish of them, idk if they were staying there or just chilling. After she helped me she went into a car that was parked out front. Seemed shady. The motel itself was cheapish but smelled like smoke all throughout the hallways. Room was smelly also. A dead roach greeted me at the door along with pub shavings on the tub and it seemed unclean in the bathroom. Sink and tub had some yellow crud. Bed was hard and uncomfy, pillows were flat. Fridge worked good, outlets were okay except the right side of the room didn’t work. Didn’t they the tv cause we were too tired. Wouldn’t stay again

Checkin was the fastest ever: I introduced myself, showed my ID, and was given a key in less than 30 seconds. Sadly, the key did not work, but the desk clerk immediately walked me to the room and opened it. Great Service Lots of noise from "residents" on a Sunday night. Also traffic noises from my room were audible even through my earplugs.

My deposit wasn't given back to me and there is no reason for that

Lets start off with check in. The night check in staff membet was clearly on some sort of substance she was talking incoherently making check out take way longer than necessary. I originally booked a 2 bed queen room non smoking but was told when I arrived that smoking was all that was available, the room smelt to high heaven of smoke and musk. The internet was failing the entire time redering it useless. Towels were non existent had to go back and ask for towels and was given what seemed to be dirty towels. Floors had food and crumbs everywhere and remember how I said I was greatful for a Loves being next door? Thats because our toleit refused to flush, so I had to walk there to releive myself. No where on the booking site did it say anything about a $50 deposit had to pay that at arrival, was also informed that under no circumstance would a refund be returned to me by the high as a kite staffer I could try but "good luck" is what was said verbatim. Was told that I wont get my deposit back for 3-5 days. I have no idea how this place has a 4 star here...

It was a safe place and no frills. Fine to crash for a night if you sre on a budget. Not too far from Palo Dura Canyon.

It was not much to like. The floors were not clean, mattress was not at all comfortable, halls were dark, towels were old and stringy. There was no iron.

The staff was lovely, and this is probably one of the best motel 6's that I've ever been to :) The bed was a wee bit hard but it was not intolerable

The fact that even with being able to upgrade my room I wasn't able to and I was stuck in a room connected to another one, bad Internet, remote didn't work to the tv, the AC took about 4 hours to cool the room off, had to go get cash for the deposit that everyone pays, but other than that, the girl up front was super nice.

Room was clean and comfortable (especially the bed). Very pet friendly - no carpet and plenty of space for dogs in the room. We interacted with multiple members of the staff and all were incredibly friendly and helpful - went above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. We had a great stay and would stay again. Thank you!

There is so much good to name its hard to even know where to start. The location was perfect for the roadtrip I was on. The building itself was awesome, and was “indoors” compared to most motel 6s. The room??? Was HUGE and was set up in a way I could have lived in! The staff?? So kind, accommodating, funny, made you feel at home. It was by far the nicest motel 6 and for me personally my favorite HOTEL ive ever stayed at… and ive stayed at a lot. I couldn’t stay longer! Lol but ai had to hit the road, they would’ve probably let me stay forever

Ripped blankets and sheets, sheets had blood on them as if they didn’t even wash them…there was a woman sitting in the lobby with no shoes on just hanging out wait for the desk person to get off work. The tv remote didn’t work.

They gave me a room for the price paid after downgrading the room and it took some time and patience to get that. Booking.com could not reach a resolution with them but refunded the amount of the downgrade. Motel 6 tried to charge me more when I refused to pay they gave me less for the same price. Motel 6 said they needed to fix the app but several days later it still reflected the same prices.

I like the fact it's off the beaten path. There's a coffee shop next door also a truck stop.

I couldn't get internet but that was ok. The remote did not work but too much tv is bad for you so I didn't mind. The remote probably just needed new batteries.

Only bad thing is that there was a little yelling at 4am from some one in the hallway. Good thing I was already awake getting ready to check out and continue on with my trip. The only other thing is it was further off of I40 than I expected but I would definitely stay here again.

The sheets were stained as was the inside shower curtain, but the most important thing to note is that in the middle of the night a fire alarm went off the fire alarm went off because a non-guest was able to access a door that should’ve been locked and he started chaos that led to the fire alarms going off. This was a safety in an issue and was unacceptable.

I am highly offended that the staff at this motel would pry into someone’s personal life; and to, then, go to the effort of giving that information to someone else. That goes beyond being nosey. She violated my rights, not only as a person, but as a FEMALE, as well. I stated in one of the suites, and it was AWESOME; aside from the incident with my information being given to someone, I have always had a pleasant stay at this motel. I am not sure what caused her (the manager) to initiate outside contact about my room rental? I feel this was totally out of line. For all she knows, calling my roommate to inform him of my location, could have put me in a very dangerous position. Needless to say, I was/a not very satisfied with the results of this latest stay.

heater did not work , finding this out later in the night , we ended up having to change rooms, , and received i night credit. The owner lives on site , and the neglect of this property is unacceptable , outside signage is non working , DO BETTER, OWNER, AND TRAVELOCITY NEEDS TO DELETE THIS LOCATION .

The outside was unkempt and looked unsafe. The front desk area smelled like marijuana and pee. The TV that I was using to try to drown out the outside noise kept going out because of rain. Got no sleep.

I requested an AARP discount, didnt get it. Then it started raining in the middle of the night & rain was pouring into the room because of leaky window. Told front desk & her reply was 'I dont know how to fix it' & asked if we could change rooms & she said she didnt know how to do it .....

Dont stay at this hotel because they will just put u out for no reason with no valid reason they assumed i was a prostitute for no apparent reason just because someone i communicate with is a trucker who helped me with my room when needed and so is my kids father he is also a trucker so that is no excuse i really did not have traffic but at the last minute was told i couldnt extend my stay the house keep didnt come like she was supposed to when we were in the suite but we had issues and then they did not return my deposit when i cleaned the room myself this morning so unless u want to get put out unexpectedly dont stay here but honestly it was just the housekeeper on the second floor named max the manager and the director for the front desk

Good service, nice staff. Only issue was the smell of lavender and marijuana, possibly CBD. However, I noted that the staff was doing their best to accomodate. Staff was apologetic and did well to help with the aroma.

They had the doors locked to the lobby and were turning people away. I had call d for reservation and they said they had capacity, but when I got there to check in they had me locked out. Staff was still there staring at me through the door but was not responding to my questions

We showed up at a decent time around 8pm and walked in to a sticky floor. We walked around to check out the quality and felt like we walked in to a jail cell. There were no pictures on the wall, only two tiny little tables and 1 basically folding chair. The bathroom had black long strands of hair all over the floor and in the shower drain. The sink also looked like someone pored a dark drink down it and wasn’t cleaned.. then we went to pull back the sheets we found more hair! We should have ran then put we were super tired so we went bed.. but that wasn’t the end of our experience, at 12 or 1 am a couple walked in to the room next to us that woke me right up! We could hear EVERY detail of their conversation.. and every detail of what they did before bed. Also their activity after they went to bed for another hour or so!! I’m still so upset that I waisted my money on that place and decided to spend a little extra on another motel next time I visit my daughter in college!

The 2nd room, the tv wasnt working but thats not the problem. Someone left a clogged up turd in the toilet along with cigarette butts (in a non smoking room mind you). The third room didnt have any issues except when i woke up at 5am to get a shower and hit the road, and the water wasnt even WARM! seriously, go somewhere else....

Tough stay. Lots of noise. Room key didn’t work 5 times. Moved to smoking room as the room key didn’t work on our room. Very loud, dirty, and at times felt unsafe. Will not stay here again.

My room was clean except for the walls. There were several disgusting stains on the bathroom wall and by the trashcan. Beds were clean and very firm. The AC kept to the room very cold. The property had smells in hallways. I did feel safe there and the area around seemed safe. It was very convenient for the price to visit WT A&M and Palo Duro Canyon state park.

Stayed here one night. There were cigarette burns in the blanket, the tub drained poorly and we were charged $75 for an incidental hold that we are now fighting to get back. Had to get corporate involved. We’ve always had great experiences with motel 6 but will tell everyone to avoid this one like the plague.

Good for the rate. However there were no hair dryer, nor Kleenex and the bath didn’t hold the water. The mattress was as hard as plywood.

When checked in was asked to scan my credit card even though I paid through expida was charged a second time and the room has roaches and is dirty this is the worst visit to this motel I will not be coming back.

Staff was nice. Put me in a new room when my toilet broke. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Place needs a lot of upgrades, but it is close to Starbucks and a truckstop if you need stuff. Pool was inoperable.

I booked this online. Called to make sure was all set. I was told yes. Got here and check in person was swearing over booked. Complaining no one does their jobs. He gave us a dirty uncleared room. Air conditioning did not work. People outside with loud cars and music. Others walking the hall yelling and banging around.

Terrible place. I paid for a deluxe room & when I arrived none were available so got downgraded to lowest room no refund on price. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Staff very rude! I would never stay there again & would not recommend to anyone!

The website listed property having a gym and pool. Purposely drove about 8 miles round trip from highway 40 because of the gym availability listed online and there is no gym at that location. There is a pool, however it is drained and in disrepair. The room floor felt dirty, some light fixtures did not work properly and the toilet is seemingly a child type toilet. The bowl is unusually shallow and the seat/height of bowl close to the floor? Felt like a child training toilet, odd. The towel holder over the vanity was loose and crooked on the wall and the entry door is cut too short and allows 2” of light and noise from the hall to filter into the room.

The staff was very helpful and prompt to help. The surrounding area was industrial/barren. Not much around and not pleasant.

I wouldn't stay here again. The floors of the room weren't swept, the sink wasn't clean and had hair in it and the trash wasn't emptied. The comforter had burn holes in it and the room was freezing when we arrived. There was no coffee maker in the room ane there wasn't coffee in the lobby. It was also advertised that there was a gym but there is no gym at this location. Very disappointed.

Loud- almost every night could hear music and voices through the walls, one night heard someone urinating into a toilet through the walls while in bed. Every morning starting around 6am doors slamming constantly and voices and noise from the hall goes right through the door, including a random dog bark. Cleanliness was not good either, saw lot's of random hair from previous guests on the floor making it obvious they haven't swept properly in a long time... Then there was the cockroach I found running across the floor.... Wouldn't recommend it unless these things don't bother you.....

Don't come here if you want a good night's rest. Kids running up and down the hallway all hours throughout the day AND I'mnight and people slamming doors at 2:30am like they're the only ones here.

Room was hot, a/c wasn’t on. Bed was rock hard. A/C cooled room eventually but was really loud.

We booked a room on line as a last minute road trip. When we got there (at night) we were told there was not a room for us. Apparently they had not turned off the availability on their site so the booking sites kept booking rooms. We were not the only ones. While we were there, the clerk called another "guest" to let them know their reservation would not be honored. And, another family of 3 arrived and found out their reservation would not be honored either. In addition to this, a couple had to be assigned 3 different rooms: room #1 already had people in it when they went in & room #2 had never been cleaned (nasty bathroom, disgusting sheets, unmade bed, etc). They showed pictures of the nastiness to the clerk who agreed & immediately called her supervisor. The clerk tried her best to help people but it was chaotic & not her fault.

The hotel overall wasnt bad. We had trouble with our key and had to walk back to the lobby to get another. Room wasn't terrible, but it had not been cleaned very good. There was trash behind the toilet and the floor felt sticky (wood laminate floors). Bed wasn't too bad. If you're looking for extras don't look here.

I got there at 1240a just to be told they gave my room away and they were sold out. Then “found” a smoking room and charged me 15$ more than what I had booked thru hotels.com. Place is a dump!!!

My truck was hit by another car overnight, but there was no way to tell who did it. Wasn’t a great way to end my stay.

I had a paid reservation and when I arrived was told they were sold out and didn’t have my room available. I had been driving for 8 hours and wasn’t able to find a different hotel room. Completely unacceptable. Will never use Expedia again. I have called repeatedly to get a refund and have not had anyone be remotely helpful. Absolutely inexcusable.
