It's a nice cozy hotel in Alhambra, out-punches the 2.5 star status. The only downside is the parking is tight and it fills up at night (if you are not a confident driver, it could be stressful to park).

Clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was lacking. Squeaky beads. Limited parking. On the second night, parking was full. Didn't want to double park so I parked on the street. Alhambra doesn't allow for over night parking on the main road. $70 parking violation was my last impression of GreenTree.

The room was clean but dated. The bed was comfortable and room was very large. The staff was nice and helpful. The parking was a nightmare. They said we could park in the Walgreens parking lot adjacent to the hotel but I did not feel connforable parking there. Lucky someone was leaving when we arrived after dinner and got their spot. For Pasadena it’s a good location and close to most things.

We were warmly welcomed by staff even though we arrived very late at night. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The only problem we had was that the parking lot is small and often gets completely filled up overnight.

This is an excellent place to stay especially if visiting Los Angeles. It’s nestled in a more suburban neighborhood which makes it super family friendly. Clean and awesome all you can eat breakfast!

We were surprised by how well they treated us from our arrival to our departure . Truely an experience worth having.

The room was very clean and linens were very comfy. Breakfast was perfect for people who are on the go. The staff were very pleasant. You can tell this place is run by family and they take pride in the business. There are so many things to do nearby and I would highly recommend.

The fire alarm went off at 2 am and when I called the front desk the gentleman wasn’t helpful and hanged up. Then there was stains on the bed cover bugs in the shower. Then they said that they was gonna refund me my $100 deposit. Still don’t understand why they charge for me. And they said that I was gonna get a partial refund from the original payment but still haven’t received Andy contact from the hotel

The hotel was great. The room was clean, bathroom is nice and the bed is comfy. I like the sliding glass door to get the fresh air. However........ I was on the 4th floor, they rent a room out on the roof to some people that live up there. At 10pm i heard what sounded like someone just punching walls and slamming things on the floor. Then this man was just yelling at the top of his lungs at someone. Then i heard a women crying and screaming to stop. I called the front desk and they said they would take care of it. Well, they didn't. I walked down to the front desk and told the clerk what was going on and he just said "yea he does that all the time, we've called the cops on him several times". He didn't even care. He walked back upstairs with me and told the guy to stop and keep the noise down. That lasted about 10 minutes. Tried to call the front desk again, no answer. So, we struggled to get to sleep. At 430am I heard what sounded like someone getting thrown on the ground and a woman screaming "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" and the guy screaming at her. I had to call the cops and they knew him BY NAME!! after a bit, the cops left and wouldn't you know, the yelling and screaming started AGAIN. So we got up and left. I thought the hotel was nice and would stay here again, but there is no way. That was the worst experience of my life. 0/10 do not recommend.

O.K. place for a couple nights. A little noisy outside where our room was. Cleanliness just average. Hairs on vanity and sink. Sticky spot on floor. Functional and nothing more. Breakfast that was so highly rated had sausages, potatoes, and no eggs? Free parking and reasonable price for the area was good. I would stay again if I was in the area with appropriate expectations.

Location was excellent! Very quiet,lots of restaurants,what I did not like is the room they gave me was in the first floor my room smell like sewer ! And at the breakfast area in the morning there was a homeless guy throwing stuff at the pool..the front desk guy attended at night was not to kind 😔other than that is ok 👍

We went to CA because of my uncle’s emergency situation, he was in Alhambra Hospital but the day we arrived he was transferred to Baldwin. I requested if I can transfer and get a refund, I was told that since I booked thru Hotels.com I had to go through them that Hotels.com will not allow me a refund ( but after talking to Hotels.com it was the Hotel that didn’t want to give a refund… so we had to drive 30 mins back and forth to Baldwin daily. Once you pay that Hotel there’s BO WAY you will get a refund NO MATTER what the reason may be, so inconsiderate!!!

Room was maintained and clean

My mother and I stayed here two consecutive Friday nights. We were very comfortable in this clean, quiet hotel. There were many good choices for breakfast, including yogurt, waffles, cereal, fruit and juices. Our queen beds were very comfortable and the room was well stocked with every amenity we needed. The parking lot behind the hotel was well lit and we felt very safe here. Walgreens is right next door and I was able to purchase a couple items I'd forgotten for my cruise. We will stay here again if we ever need to return to Alhambra/South Pasadena area.

The room was very clean. The bathroom was well stocked. The TV was rough and had tons of channels without commercials. The only drawback was the carpet felt really dirty so I had to wear my shoes the whole time but it was a minor inconvenience. The breakfast was really good and stayed well stocked with all of the options.

For the price it was good, service was great, I needed to be near Highland park but reasonable rate.. older hotel and walls are not very sound proof but good overall.

Great location, clean room, and friendly staff. This would have been a five-star stay if not for a parking issue. We arrived late and complimentary parking was full. As first-time visitors to LA, we asked the front desk if street parking across the hotel was okay and were told yes. Unfortunately, we received a $70 parking ticket overnight. While the hotel says they aren’t responsible, the ticket resulted from incorrect guidance. Disappointing experience.

The room was clean somewhat of an odor, very close to the dodger stadium about a 20 min drive. Also very close to downtown, there’s 2 parks nearby walking distance. The staff was overall nice & the breakfast was very good, quite a few options. Everything was super clean! Also free parking which was great for us no having to worry where to park. There’s also a Walgreens right next door literally a less then a 5 min walk so that was great.

​I traveled alone and stayed in a room with a spa bath. The room was spacious and came with a coffee machine, fridge, and even a microwave, which was a nice surprise. ​Breakfast featured cereal, sausages, bacon, boiled eggs, bagels, fruit, and make-your-own waffles. The warm porridge was so comforting, especially the day after a music festival! ​I also loved the 24-hour utility room (separate from the breakfast area) that had an ice machine, microwave, hot water, coffee, paper plates, and chopsticks. It was super convenient. I had absolutely no complaints.

I explained tot he staff that had they been honest and told us (or told Expedia) that the power would have been out we would have not stayed. All she could says is “I’m Sorry.” Seriously?

The breakfast was decent for America. The staff was outstanding. Gracious, polite and respectful. I pointed out a deficiency and they corrected it at once. The noodles at nighttime was a very nice touch. We will return.

Not the fanciest (or costliest) it's a good solid place to stay. Friendly staff, free breakfast and also free coffee throughout the day.

The stay had some ups and downs. The bed sheets were clean, and the staff were friednly, which was a big plus. The bathroom wasn't clean, and even though they mentioned slippers would be provided, when I asked, they said they were out. Breakfast was pretty basic, and while the location was close to Target and Costco, it was far from downtown and tourist attractions. Overall, a mixed experience.

Horrible experience, an individual who claimed to be hotel staff knocked on my door and demanded that I move my car from a parking spot she stated was reserved (no visible reservation signage at the spot). The staff is no help easing the situation. highly unsafe and distressing experience overall how access to guest areas is controlled and how staff handle such situations

My overall opinion is you get what you pay for. Staff seemed disinterested. Room and general areas were quite clean. There's a printer shell in the lobby that's only there for show. Do not have printing needs, or you will be disappointed.

Although we did not feel as though this hotel lived up to its higher reviews, the staff were delightful and the breakfast was better than most chain hotels. The WIFI was fast and beds & pillows were clean and comfortable but we likely wouldn’t stay again, especially with a small child.

Breakfast starts at 6:30 and was okay. Parking is very congested. the room (101)on the other side of the hotel near the stairs clean, the the bedcover had stains, there were many bugs in the room including a dead roach in the bathroom. The bathroom sink was leaking and the walls are thin you can hear other people talking. The location was perfect and many eatery places around.

As soon as we enter the building, it’s beautifully decorated. Some of them are fake plants but beautiful. The breakfast is so delicious and wonderful! Very kind and helpful staff, I mean all of them- the front desk, breakfast area and cleaning crew. Aminities are great! Just bring your brush and toothpaste. I also used their washing and drying machines for few quarters for which you can exchange dollars bills to quarters at the front desk. And they also sell a laundry detergent pod and a dryer sheet for a dollar which was perfect. I already booked my next stay with my family. Thank you and looking forward to stay again.

The room air had a room-freshener scent. The bed was somewhat soft. The breakfast offerings were varied including hardboiled eggs, waffles, bacon and sausage, potatoes, yogurt, hot and cold cereal, fresh fruits, bagels and croissants.

Great free breakfast at reasonable hours

The tranquility of the hotel, free parking, and included breakfast made our stay incredibly comfortable and memorable. As a result, we ended up booking this hotel again upon extending our stay in the Los Angeles region and were very happy to do so.

As mentioned in a previous review, we had such a wonderful and comforting stay at this hotel while in the Los Angeles area that it was such an easy decision to immediately choose this hotel again when we decided to spontaneously extend our stay in LA. The breakfast was perfect for our needs and the rooms were spacious, clean, and cozy to accommodate two of us in our initial stay, and later four of us during our extended stay. I would happily choose this hotel again in a heartbeat. The beautiful decor and amiability of the staff were also very appreciated. Thank you~

Room was a great size. Bathroom was on the small side. Cleanliness was decent, however, there was several long black hairs on two of the clean towels and inside the clean sheets on one of the beds. These were the same color and size, which is concerning and unsanitary.

My husband and I stayed at the Green Tree Inn & Suites Alhambra last night 4/8 and unfortunately had a terrible experience. There was no electricity in the entire hotel, which we were not notified of before hand, and the desk staff was extremely rude and unhelpful when we expressed concern, as we needed to do some work during our stay at the hotel. The man at the front desk said that because we only stayed one night, we were able to get a refund due to the circumstance and bad experience. Please help me get a refund started, as this was one is the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had.

The location is great, and the common areas are clean and welcoming. There is also a rest area next to the pool that provides cold iced tea, an ice machine, and filtered water, which is a nice touch compared to other small local hotels. The staff are very friendly. However, the room itself was not very clean and had an unpleasant smell. The outdoor temperature was in the 90s during our stay, so the AC ran all day and was very loud, which made it difficult to sleep. There is no desk in the room, and it is always quite dark due to limited lighting. We also had to keep the window blinds closed since the windows face the street. The bathroom ventilation is very poor, after showering, the counter, mirror, and floor were all wet.

Next to a Walgreens. The room with a King size bed, had the bathtub out in the open. There was a curtain around the toilet but not around the tub, so water was getting everywhere. Would stay again but in a double room.

Very disappointed in this hotel. It was not what was advertised. First, the bathroom was filthy. If we hadn't got in so late we would have looked for something else. Next, the promise of a great hot breakfast was false. They had waffles, porridge, sausage and tater tots but no hot eggs - just hard boiled eggs. If you're into carbs, they had bagels and toast. Yogurt was available as well, but no orange juice! We were put next to a door that went outside and was slamming most of the night. It was also propped open and you could smell the Marijuana being smoked out there. The outside pool was small and a disappointment. You had to walk past the pool to get to the breakfast. Basic maintenance needs to be done as well. Painting the door trim and baseboards would lend to a cleaner look - wouldn't take care of the hair on the floor but it would be a start. The only good things were it seemed to be in a safe neighborhood and front desk staff always had a smile on their face. The description was deceiving. We thought we were staying in a boutique hotel and would have stayed elsewhere.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and comfortable. Parking is free. Walgreens is right next door and Target is across the street. Top Juniors, a hamburger stand, is next door and sells delicious pastramis and chili fries! Sells breakfast too. They have the same breakfast everyday. They only have hard boiled eggs and never have scrambled or fried eggs. No creamers for coffee or packets of cream cheese. They put the cream cheese in a jar and you have to scoop it out with a plastic knife. Not sanitary because you don’t know if a guest has reused a knife. Also, the safety lock on our door got stuck and my elderly mom and I were trapped in our room for at least 45 minutes. A staff worker had to climb onto the balcony and into our room to free us. We were late for breakfast and late for a family gathering. My mom is diabetic and had to eat. The staff did allow her to get breakfast late and they quickly changed the safety lock on our door. We were not offered a discount or credit for our troubles. I was frustrated with that because it was a huge safety hazard. In all my travels over the years, I had never been locked inside my room! Maybe Booking. com can issue with a credit.

Didn’t use pool. Breakfast was not varied. No milk for coffee, just creamer. Room was okay. No hangers on bathroom door for towels, bed was hard, pillows not supportive and uncomfortable. Cleaning service okay; desk service minimal; parking behind hotel small but manageable. Noisy checkin couples next door having exchanges…a bit of a bordello.

Located near the area we needed to visit for the next morning Shower has some mold Street noise at night - room overlooked the Walmart parking lot and there was a diesel truck that was active and loud motorcycles

Breakfast room was a little cramped if more than 5 people were in it (site is surrounded by other buildings; not sure if this is even "fixable"), coffee available in the room not good (breakfast service coffee was fine)

Facilities are kind old. Beds squeaking is unbearable.

Ground floor directly next to Housekeeping utility area and other hotel functions. Door began opening/closing loudly very early around 7am and continued on the rest of the a.m. The mattresses were not very firm and bed linens of poor quality, feeling extremely scratchy in touch. The overall quality of room felt very dated and the automat food machine in lobby was Out Of Order. The TV in the breakfast area was in flux with no satellite connection. And overall quality of breakfast just average. I will not stay here again as it was an unrestful night with sub par conditions overall. Disappointing.

Everything was good except the bathroom. Floor and shower/tub both had hair on them. Room was surprisingly quiet for ground floor, and the continental breakfast was above average.

Room was such a let down compared to my previous stay. The bathroom smelled like a public park bathroom. Just absolutely horrible. Hand soap and body soap were swapped in dispensers. Tv turned on but was not responsive to the remote or it lagged behind. Speakers on tv were busted. Couldn’t hear anything clearly without turning the volume way way up.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Convenient yummy breakfast. I unfortunately had to spend 4 days here in the middle of a rain storm due to a canceled event. It was postponed to following weekend. Tried to check out atleast one day early and come back to same hotel the following week so they still basically get my full amount of money but was denied. I'm back again this weekend and chose another hotel just for that reason.

The room was very clean and the environment was very quiet. The breakfast was also very good. The only thing that made me uncomfortable was that when I washed my hair, the hair dryer only worked for less than two minutes and then stopped working. I had to go out with wet hair.

Overall the room was good, I do wish there was more pictures and clearer descriptions of what was included. Did not realize shower head was part of the jacuzzi, the pressure on that was very low. No clear description of toilet being covered by a curtain.

The hotel was clean, staff was nice, and they had free breakfast! Usually at hotels like this the walls are thin but this place was quiet and comfortable. It is next to cars passing on the road so most you'll hear is cars at night. Only issue I had was one of the vending machines not working, but they more than made up for it with the free ramen and tea they had in the other room. Some of the doors at the end of the hall are open to the outside, but they're protected with gates and staff is around 24/7.

Wow! Was not expecting such a class act. Alhambra can be a little sketchy. This hotel is a gem. The lobby shows it all. Clean, up-to-date room furnishings, good breakfast, friendly staff. Very quiet and convenient location. I will be making this my go-to for Los Angeles visits.

The room was good and quiet. I called on multiple occasions before the reservation to find out if they use or had hypoallergenic bedding, which for some reason no one staffing the phone could answer. Unfortunately, I have a feather allergy, donned non-feather bedding. One person even told me they would ask the cleaning staff and call me back. They never called back. So, to save others the trouble, they do have hypoallergenic bedding. Outside of that issue, I had no other problems with the staff or hotel.

The property felt unsafe, while we were checking in, a stranger walked in and the staff couldn’t figure out where he went. Parking is extremely limited, and you only find out after check-in. Property not well maintained, we had to call room service right away because the bathroom tap was broken. Breakfast was nothing like advertised, very very limited, not fresh or healthy for families. The only positive was the room service & housekeeping staff. Overall, not worth the hype, not good for family stay.

Room was not in the best shape (out dated). For what we paid, and according to other "solid" reviews, we thought this hotel would be decent. We were not impressed with the property, especially the room. Shower water line was busted open, so taking a shower was very difficult. If you have other options, definitely look into them.

Available parking in the premise and the hotel is clean. Free breakfast is okay and the lady keep replenishing and keeping the dining area clean. Staff is friendly and tea, coffee and lemonade are readily available in the happy room at all times. Outside traffic at night can be noisy at times

The man at the front desk was very kind but our room wasn't ready until an hour after the listed 3:00PM on the reservation. We arrived at around 3:40 so thankfully we weren't waiting too long but I can see how this would be annoying for others who may be traveling a larger distance. Also note the parking lot is very small for the amount of rooms they have and by the time we returned to the hotel at around 11PM it was full and we had to park in the street outside. Other than these two hiccups, our room itself was very clean and comfortable. All the staff was friendly and the meal vending machine in the lobby was quite a good deal for some good food.

I liked that they offered complimentary cup of noodles off to the side. The room was good for the price a little dirty in some areas of my room. My mirror had this odd stain that wouldn’t come off. I will warn you if you do get breakfast it’s a bit cramped in the initial room it’s in by the pool, so getting your food can be a bit of hassle. Unless you’re used to maneuvering around a crowd of people easily.

My wife and i stayed here and got a room with a jacuzzi tub. It is in the middle of the bathroom with no shower curtain and almost right in front of the bed. The layout is super odd and the room is a bit outdated.

The staff was extremely welcoming and generous. The first time I stayed here was in the jacuzzi room. The lights were awesome. Room was cozy as are all the common areas. The second stay was with my family in a room with 2 beds. Everyone enjoyed the welcoming vibe. There's even a garden now and they opened up a new area for folks to have breakfast. Can't believe this place is getting even better. Free parking, waffle maker at breakfast and the absolutely wonderful staff are my favorite things about this place. I'm gonna need to find more reasons to stay in Alhambra so I can come back!

Specifically, the bathtub lacked a shower curtain, had mold, and was not draining properly. I complained about this issue a couple of times on the morning of May 16th. They said a repair person would come to fix it, but the issue was not resolved. I requested a room transfer for our second night, May 16th, but the am receptionist stated that if the issue couldn't be fixed, it would be discussed with the manager because the hotel was fully booked. The issue was not fixed, and when I followed up in the afternoon of May 16th, the pm receptionist stated that the repair person was off and would not be able to address the problem until the next day, May 17th, which was our departure day. In addition to the poor condition of the room and the lack of issue resolution, I also experienced what I perceived to be racist behavior from the staff during our stay. This entire experience was highly unsatisfactory for a room that was booked as a luxury option and for the price we paid. I request that you address these issues immediately.

Our stay was quite pleasant. In spite of being on a busy street, the room was quiet. Guests seemed to be quite respectful of each other. The room was clean and comfortable.

Our shower head holder was broken and they responded immediately to fix it. Breakfast had a goo variety of foods, though the coffee was a bit weak. This was a very good value.
