The room was great. Clearly had been updated in the recent past. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Overall vibe of the place was good.

In order to access the hotel you had to call the front desk to open the gate for the parking area. Leaving the area was no problem.

Betty at the front desk awesome and valued ambassador for the Hampton Inn and Suites brand. Morning breakfast was excellent and variety of choices. The room was cleaned upon request and comfortable throughout my time there.

Great property in a perfect location. Easily walkable with free trolly right outside the hotel that can take you to the waterfront part of Old Town Alexandria

Wonderful front desk staff. Room was cleaned when we asked and the morning breakfast was one the the best we have had. Particularily want to mention Maria and Torrey for their kindness and professionalism.

Room was clean enough. There were some hairs in the towels which I guess could happen anywhere but is always gross. Elevator was very old and slow. But the hotel was close to where I needed to be. I wasn’t uncomfortable staying there. Not a bad hotel overall.

The hotel is in a great location, very close to the train station. If you don't want to use the car, this is the hotel for you. The staff was very helpful, the room was clean, breakfast was good, parking fine.

This one may have been cheaper because it was a little tattered around the edges. Outdoor pool was covered with a tarp, mold was growing on the paving stones. To be fair, we were there two days before Memorial Day so maybe that would have been cleaned up in the coming days. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. The Yoplait fakey yoghurt is awful, the food manager should buy something better without artificial sweeteners and flavors. The most annoying thing was the false fire alarm that went off about 11pm. The desk clerks wouldn't tell what happened. A wall panel near the entrance showed an alarm fault which stayed on. A restless night ensued wondering if the place would burn down.

This hotel was wonderful. The location is great in Alexandria. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was great! The parking is in a garage below the hotel that costs $25 a night. The hotel is one block from the Metro and there are many dining options nearby. Highly recommended.

Very accommodating and helpful staff. The fire alarm at 11 pm was a bit disorienting, but guests all seemed to follow directions well.

This is everything I expect from a Hampton Inn: Clean, comfortable, good breakfast, friendly staff. The only off thing was that the entryway (between the two automatic doors) smelled strongly of urine. The room was very clean as was the lobby area. I would stay here again.

The location on king street is good, and very close to the metro. The waterfront is a significant walk. The hotel has an old feel, you notice it in the bathroom for example where the shower is over a tub and there is very little room for your feet because of the curvature, giving it a claustrophobic feel. The tub had some rust spots showing through. Our room had one very small window, which also contributed to the claustrophobic feel. The room lighting was inadequate, some dark spots. Overall just ok. Frankly there are better choices in town for the money, we know from past experience.

It’s in a great location, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast and shower was ehh.

The staff was exceptional, particularly Betty. We had a king room reservation that turned into two doubles. Not great, but staff gave us a discount on the room, plus free parking.

The staff was very helpful. We were given dining suggestions and tour options. The hotel was clean and conveniently located near the Metro. The trolley stops at the hotel for easy access to anything on King Street.

We've stayed here several times, and we'll probably be back again. It's a great location for us, close to the Metro. I like that breakfast is included, and there's a good variety. I like that there's parking on site, although that parking garage is a challenge with a big truck, but it can be done.

The rooms were not cleaned when you stay multiple days. The trash can at least be emptied and they should make sure you have enough towels when they know you are staying for multiple days.

This hotel had a good, central location and staff. The room I stayed in was very clean and cozy. Lastly, I enjoyed the toiletries that were given to me and were available for use. The elevator sometimes took a long time to get down so that was the only thing that I did not like.

Location Both elevators were not working, and I asked for a refund and was given a nasty response. When they got the elevators working again, while I was searching for an alternative hotel, I asked for my reservation to be reinstated, and the woman behind the front desk said no.

The staff is top notch and so helpful and friendly. They made us feel welcome and went above and beyond with any question or request we had. The room was clean and well stocked and the beds were comfortable. We will always stay here when we are in town

Instructions on how to enter and exit parking garage. It’s on street behind the building and you have to call so they can open garage gate. Everything else, location, value great!

One of the two elevators was not functioning. It made getting around the building tricky at times. I heard they were waiting for a new part.

I loved the ability to check in early. We arrived earlier than expected to Virginia and were exhausted. The hotel allowed us to check in once the room was ready. The property was in an amazing location and was very easy to find. It was quiet and comfortable during our stay. We had a nice time and always enjoyed the mystery of breakfast.

Everything was good. Forgot toothbrush and they were happy to give me one. The only issue is the rooms have paper thin walls and you can hear everything next door and in the hallway.

Our stay was fabulous! The customer service from all of the staff from the front desk to the complimentary breakfast was absolutely wonderful! Our room was clean, spacious, tidy and the bathroom has everything a couple would need for a three night stay. The best part my wife notices is that all The Hampton Inns we have stayed at are consistent in excellence! We have no complaints whatsoever. I love the fact you guys have the most reasonable price for covered garage parking and that your hotel is close to Alexandria's central business district. We will be back specifically at your hotel. Thank you again for delivering excellence!

We love the location to the train station and the Metro and have stayed here multiple times. This most recent visit was disappointing. The TV worked sometimes as the screen would often pixelate. The bathroom had an odd odor. We had a top sheet with a blood stain upon arrival. However the front desk staff was excellent and helpful.

The TV was from 1990 as well as the cable line going into it, literally had is the up/down channel button for it to work. The tub/shower was like standing in a half pipe. I wondered why there was a grab bar in the shower until I tried standing and showering. The hotel is dated but I will say the continental breakfast was well done.

2. The TV channels were different and more limited than the channels on the sheet of paper that the receptionist gave me upon checking in. The receptionist was probably unaware of the change. I missed not having MSNBC because I like my news with a heavy liberal bias.

My only big complaint is the parking garage. We have a medium size truck, and we had a heck of a time driving it around down there and squeezing it into a space.

Suggestions for improvement: Overnight parking is very tight; I wish the spaces were a little bigger (and safer) I wouldn’t mind paying a little more. Also No closet hanging space or bathroom fans.

The free trolley stops right in front of the hotel and has numerous stops all along King Street. The hotel was always clean and well maintained, and their free breakfast offered several nice options. Our room was large, comfortable, and quiet (although rather short on drawer space). Our stay, unfortunately, had to be cut short due to an injury I sustained in DC. Upon returning to the Hampton Inn that day, the hotel staff was very kind and considerate, from making me ice packs to lending me a crutch to having the housekeeping staff prioritize cleaning our room while we waited downstairs. The staff was also generous enough to refund some of our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to book it again in the future.

Great accommodation, the breakfast was nice and not the same every day, ready to be use even earlier that the regular time. Parking inside is tricky, for your convenience don't bring big SUV or minivan, will be hard to park inside.

As a previous customer i always loved the location, the breakfast and the attention each day. However the cable output had several channels with no signals, at a weekend with an NBA game that was important. The water pressure had to be adjusted at the bathroom sink. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The only thing that I did not like was that I stayed there for five days and no one cleaned the room. It would’ve been nice to have the garbage emptied and fresh towels.

The beds were very comfortable and the room and bathroom were very clean. It was a bit stuffy and we had to run A/C in the winter. The trolley was convenient to get around the town.

Quiet room and comfortable bed. One issue is the parking garage fits compact to small vehicles. I had a pickup truck and the turning radius to access the lower parking area was much too narrow for a truck or larger vehicle to descend.

The staff was very welcoming and polite upon arrival and gave detailed instructions for parking, although in the dark and no light for the sign it was hard to see. There was only 1 "working" elevator out of the 2, the wait time is about 6 minutes give or take. The elevator was also very well used and needs servicing, the L button was not propperly working, the elevator also made horrible grinding noises and would shake violently when arriving to the 6th floor. Once getting into the room we found out the lights flickered, there was an airfilter/dehumidifier for some reason, and the bathroom had no ventilation and the tub wouldnt properly drain leaving a puddle of water. Staff was amazing and very accommodating to a disabled veteran. Id say the staff, and metro would be the only reason to stay here.

There is a trolley that stops right in front of the hotel that is free and goes up and down King Street every 15 minutes, so you can visit the shops, restaurants, etc. Also, it’s about a two block walk to the metro station, which is also very convenient. We took the metro into DC and did not have to worry about driving or parking. I would stay again in the future.

I have never been treated with such kindness and thoughtfulness. The front desk, most especially Betty (who loaned me her phone charger) was a model for customer service!

Location - you can’t beat it! Park your car and no need to use it the rest of your stay; King St Metro Station : 3 mins from the lobby; all the shopping , eating options and entertainment Old Town Alexandria offers: within 5-20 mins from the lobby. The hotel? Meh. Hampton Inns are always a safe go-to for both domestic and international travel: 4 - star and above ratings w/ reasonable pricing , later check out- times so you can sleep in, comfy beds, good-sized rooms w/ a fridge, nice bathrooms w/ fluffy towels, clean hotels that don’t have musty hallways , fast elevators and well-lit stairwells, stocked little lobby pantries, quiet business centers, tidy pools and gyms, ample parking and of course, the excellent free breakfast w/ lots of options/ available until 10:30am. This hotel simply didn’t live up to the standard. The breakfast ended at 10am, the selections were few and similar to that of a budget motel’s continental breakfast. The pool was out of order. The fit and finish of the hotel room/ bathroom and towels : budget motel quality( broken fridge , a bathroom outlet that tripped constantly , loose outlets, non- working USB ports, a vanity w/ a broken leg, Dollar Store towels ). Received a call from the front desk at 8:30am on a Sunday that maintenence had to come in to check the smoke at 9am. Pricing was comparable to other hotels on the same block.

The location was excellent. Very close to Metro and the local free bus when down the street to take you to the waterfront. The room was roomy and staff very friendly.

The staff at this hotel are exceptional! Very friendly and helpful no matter what time of day. The hotel is conveniently located near the Metro and a free trolley stops right outside the main entrance. A breakfast is included and they will provide you with water and bag lunches during your stay. I would definitely stay here again.

The bed was as hard as a rock but everything else about my stay was outstanding. Janet and Maria Provided excellent customer service. Maria went above and beyond to help me out. She explained to me about how the metro and the trolley System worked And where I should get off of the metro to enjoy the most sight seeing that I could in one day. She was very knowledgeable of the area to include Washington DC. She made my trip a lot less stressful and has superb customer service skills. Everyone on the staff there is wonderful And I enjoyed my short stay very much. I would definitely stay here again and and recommend this hotel to any anyone that is visiting Alexandria

A great location near the metro and Amtrak station. Staff is super helpful and polite. Stayed here multiple times. The parking garage is a little small but glad they have one.

Excellent location on King St., close to metro and free trolley. Included breakfast was surprisingly good. Rooms dated but clean and comfortable. Only downside was that their advertised pool has clearly been closed for some time.

When arriving and couldn't find the entrance to the parking garage so I called the front desk, and the very kind women on duty, not only told us how to get there... stayed on the phone until we found the garage. She was very helpful and understanding. Great customer service

The stay was short but pleasant. The receptionist was efficient and the room was clean and comfortable. It is what I expected for my business trip.

The most wonderful staff I’ve ever met. The night manager Miss Betty became a favorite Aunt to my Granddaughters. It was like coming home every evening after a day exploring DC. A wonderful experience in a charming city.

Hotel advertised pool but it WAS CLOSED.

This hotel is very clean, convenient, and had a good breakfast buffet. They were very accommodating and let us check in early which was great. Short walk to the metro so getting into DC was a breeze. King Street shuttle stop right out front of the hotel which was wonderful. The only negative I have is that Expedia has this hotel listed as having a pool and though we see the pool outside out window it is not in use which was a disappointment on the hot humid days we were there.

The property was very nice and clean, as well as the room. Excellent breakfast. Elevator was a little shakey but to be excepted with an older elevator. Parking is only for compact cars but suffices. Pool was still closed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall great experience and no complaints.

Just average; showing age even with renovations. Smell/odor upon arrival to room; AC older and not keeping room cool except late at night. Beds made creaking noise with movement. Not worth $ for a Hilton. No pool; permanently closed? Hallway hot; like heat was on instead on AC last day. Breakfast area small/ food okay. Staff friendly. Hotel good location to catch Metro/trolley. Neighbor felt safe.

We really enjoyed our nice clean room, and the breakfast was great. The hotel is a very short walk from the metro station, making our trip into DC very convenient. The staff were also very welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Parking garage underneath building was not ideal - not enough space for full size car. Pool not open when included in amenities, bummer for my kids during a hot week in the area. Flies in breakfast area. Distance to Metro was great.

We booked this hotel because Expedia description mentioned a pool…necessary for my young granddaughter to use after a day of museums. Alas there is NO pool at the Hampton Inn. We would have chosen another hotel if ad had been honest,
